Stargayte: Borigins

Why was this so garbage? Im so tired of le ebil nazee bad guy cliche, muhh stronk womynn of color as goddesses, interracial affairs, all of it. This movie is full of propaganda. I went into this movie blind and just thought " Star gate!? This should be cool" and now I somehow survived 1:33:00 into this anti-white, anti-male shitpiece. I really hope this movie has sold horribly as it should. Apart from the propaganda, the acting is terrible, cast=terrible, story lazily wrote and inaccurate as fuck( If i remember right it was supposed to have taken place in 1928 yet the national socialists were not even in fucking power then) there's not a single good thing i can say and needs to never be canonized. Fuck i hate this Catherine bitch.

i did go in blind you fucking faggot. I have not seen Stargate in years, I was jsut excited to see some gao'ull get wrecked by Captain o'neil.

Looks like a fun machine

>earth humans are just too OP for the stories to work or be remotely interesting anymore
How about this for a new series:
>There's Asgard in the Pegasus galaxy. Series starts with warning from Daniel.
> Bring them in to the Milky Way galaxy.
>Teal'c and Bra'tac rush back to Earth after devastating attack.
>They notice Earth using their technology. Send a virus to disable Thor's tech.
>New enemy comes in.
>Destroys Alpha, Beta, Gamma sites.
>Jensen Ackles (or other lead) rushes back to Earth from one of the beta sites.
>Earth is surrounded by Wraith, Pegasus Asgard, new enemy and maybe the real Baal for lols.
>Fallback to older human/Goau'ld/Atlantis made tech.
>Last hope is the Destiny which will return at some point but is still not the answer. Human will to survive is the way.
>Pep talk from O'Neill
There's your new Stargate series. Throw in cameos from previous series, stay away from sjw's and you have a good show.

Have u seen him recently?
He'd have to do it while eating donuts.

everyone besides some delusional people know that reboot is the only way and that we will never get the comfy 90s cheese back
and thats ok

>Have u seen him recently?
RDA said he will slim down if Stargate returns. Either way he will only be there for an extended cameo spot.
Why not? Ackles will bring in the Supernatural crowd. He'll fit the SG-1 dynamic.
>we will never get the comfy 90s cheese back
>and thats ok
No, it's not okay. "It's not a good thing". If it's not like SG-1/Atlantis then why bother?

No it isn't. I want more comfy scifi not cookiecutter scifi

>No it isn't. I want more comfy scifi not cookiecutter scifi
THIS. Trust me. We need SG-1 comfy scifi to return.

for example look at BSG, they took away the cheese and gave it a good show (for 3 seasons)
I am a diehard SG-1 fan, i can recite episodes just from memory but the truth is that unless the show is set in the 90s, the 90s vibe will never exist.
We dont need MALPs today, we have quadcopters. Hardware in general has come a long way and people are more interested in details of machine vs machine because thanks to the internet fandom and technical info is more widespread and common knowledge - the same goes for scifi tropes.
SG-1 shined in both super comfy episodes and the ones that were dire and bitter.
Most episodes in between turned out to be somewhat crappy - which is due to the way shows around that time were written. It was from episode to episode and season to season, there was no big arc planned out due to the way the actors and their circumstances influenced the writing (jackson ascending 10x because he thought andromeda was the better show).
This is why newer worser badguys had to arrive untill the show finally shit the bed lore-wise with season 9-10.
You can get comfy, detail and ambitious story arcs - just look at "justified" as an example.
The format SG-1s was filmed in will most likely fail today, and a better thought out sg-1 would be a good thing

>and a better thought out sg-1 would be a good thing
I agree with what you are saying but a full reboot is a bad idea. MGM and Brad Wright recently confirmed will be a continuation so if we are getting a toned down Universe with elemnts of SG-1/Atlantis then so be it.

Attached: sg-1.jpg (786x500, 94K)

what would be the point
the lore is fucked beyond sideways contradicting itself and the asgard went incel red pill and suicided
sg-1 was about exploration while facing a superior enemy
tau'ri are the superior enemy now

>tau'ri are the superior enemy now
So don't reboot then. Leave Stargate where it is now because I'm not starting again from scratch. I'm pretty sure MGM knows this and there will be backlash if they proceeded with a full reboot.

>the lore is fucked beyond sideways
Takes pic related for example. Aquaman has Stargate "Atlantis" references included in the film.
This is turning into an argument that resembles Discovery vs post Voyager Star Trek. You can easily start a new series with a time jump which we naturally have the Earth face a threat that can render Ancient/Asgard/Goa'uld tech obsolete or even disabled. Taking pop culture for granted is killing scifi and capeshit.

>Why was this so garbage?

One of the all time worst tv shows I've ever seen. I am not exaggerating when I say it was a high school drama club tier production and I was literally shocked that something this bad actually made it to television.

I didn't even know this existed.

>I didn't even know this existed.

Be thankful for your ignorance.

I (vaguely) remember one scene on the shitty tv show where the faggy British officer and the chick teleport to the Goa'uld pyramid ship and they just stand around the (cheesy) set arguing about nothing and tossing quips back and forth.

I’m sitting there watching and watching and waiting for _something_ to happen but it never does, for 15 or so minutes the characters do NOTHING AT ALL….

I don't know if the writers simply couldn't come up with anything for the characters to do or maybe they couldn't afford a different set, so they just told the actors to wing it and make up dialog as they went along?

>an ancient alstone artifact powered by water
Its not Atlantis it's fifth element.

The MCU "Babble until a punchline falls out" humor is literally a cancer to franchises. It's the absolute worst way to introduce humor into your movies/shows.
