In retrospect, perhaps it actually WAS realer than real life.

What went wrong?
Simple
Should have made it a full cgi movie with cgi humans
Thanks OP. It's good to know at least some of the zoomers were memeing and weren't serious about that shit.
>Human scenes: 5/10
You're very generous.
They made Paula Patton into an orc mutt when they should’ve saved her for a night elf.
Yeah but compared to how bad some films can be I have to rate it that.
scale was totally fucked, orcs shouldn't be larger than war horses
>Human scenes: 5/10
More like 1/10. The sets looked completely fake. The makeup and dialog was comically bad, and the magic SFX were Supergirl tier.
The orcs was the only remotely redeemable thing about this complete trainwreck.
honestly i thought they did a great job with medivh and khadgar. i thought they way they actually filmed/cgi'd the magic was great. the polymorph caught me off guard too, thought it was pretty amusing.
overall the movie was pretty shit, largely because of garona. not sure why they went with a bunch of random actors as the humans either. were they just hoping ben foster would carry the rest of the cast the way he does in every other movie?
I don't know why people give this movie so much hate. I liked it, the designs were good, the fights were great, and this movie got one of the best CGI from recent years and it doesn't look like the cheap MCU shit.
I hope there's a sequel. I would like to watch the WC3 storyline.
The human portions are weird because they have a huge inconsistency in quality.
The entire Lothar Garona plotnline was done pretty poorly, but on the other hand I really enjoyed basically every scene with Medivh and Khadgar.
It was fucking awful you retarded zoomer.
>life's shit
>the movie is complete shit
Makes sense.
That's reasonable.
>blizzard even has horde favoritism in their movies
fucking metzen
this is still one of the most jarring kinomatic experiences of my life. the average scene length had to no-shit be about 25 seconds. I've played wow for a decade if not for that I doubt I'd ever have known what the fuck was going on. the movie just goes and goes and goes as if it's cut like a trailer and then finally it just ends. should have been an animated series or something, that could then be a whole warcraft anthology.
this is a lore establishing movie, similiar to fellowship and batman begins
the next ones will be much better. arthas movie when, illidan movie when
A daring synthesis...
this, everything should be cgi
>the next ones will be much better. arthas movie when, illidan movie when
good luck, it took 10 years to get that movie, and now they are in a spot where they have to explain the 2nd war before they even get to the good parts.
that's a great idea
What kind of software/hardware do they use to render this shit?
Based on what he was saying after Warcraft released, it seems like, if Duncan directs the next one, they would instead focus on a young Thrall.
Honestly could have potential seeing as the orcs were the best parts of this one.
Yeah Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was pretty #real and #litty .
Human story in WC 1 sucks. Should have started with Arthas' story instead of the incredibly generic WC1 story.
>What kind of software/hardware do they use to render this shit?
Unironically siphoning processing power via the Bnet launcher
I think it's the fact that, yeah all the orcs in WoW are built like roided up linebackers, but so are all the humans. It looks weird when you have normal sized humans fighting massive orcs.
I could not understand what the hell was going on in the film.
The orcs looked okay but everything else was trash.
Would have preferred to watch 2 hours of a documentary of the average WOW player's life- them logging on, them playing, logging off doing other things.
It depends on the iteration's artstyle. WC2 for example was more realistically proportioned.
youtube.com
Problem was they tried to marry the WoW aesthetic to real actors while keeping the orcs heavily exaggerated.
I saw this by myself without playing any of the games and I enjoyed it.
They probably should have started with a small series. It blows my mind they didn't make a webseries for the normies that gulp the shit lore
Same, I unironically enjoyed it
Only zoomers hate it
They should have made a movie about Arthas. They completely fucked this up.
I don’t remember shit about this movie but the fight against fel guldan was better in the movie than any of the games.
Yup, the actually compelling self-contained story would have been a much better option, you'd even be able to easily get two movies out of it and possibly even a third by streamlining WOTLK.
Well they did cut 30 minutes out of the movie. So makes sense.
Also Orc scenes were pure kino
