What was the secret to this meme's success?

Was it the consistently stupid dialogue? Was it the fact that each line was versatile and exploitable?

Tell me about Baneposting! Why was it such a good meme?!

This. Every second of the scene, every moment you're watching, his face captivates you. You can't look away, no matter what hokey dialogue is being spoken, or what hilariously-clumsy event is happening.

Not here. Not today. Not ever. Take it to Yea Forums because your days on Yea Forums are over.

Get this hothead out of here

Ah you think shitposting is your ally? You merely adopted the shitpost. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see a quality thread until I was already banned, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!

I felt this when watching The Wire and Game of Thrones too. There's just something comical about his facial expressions. His constant resting smug face.

For those of you who haven't read this excerpt of the plane scene from the TDKR novel, do. It's unreal.

>An armed man suddenly appeared outside a window, thousands of feet above the ground. Startled, one of the guards spun toward the window, but not quickly enough. Shots rang out from opposite directions as a pair of snipers fired through windows. Glass shattered and Wilson’s men dropped to the floor. Blood and chaos spilled throughout the cabin. Death amended the flight plan.

>Death amended the flight plan.

Shit reads like something Alan Partridge would have written.

I'm amazed by its relative immunity to spill over. On a usual trajectory for something like this I would have been able to get a For You t-shirt any day at Hot Topic years ago.

It's literally magical and in tune with the universe itself

i don't get it, this seems like a normal description of the scene , is it supposed to be bad ? weird ?

Autists loved it

There was, but no one can beat Andreas Lubitz

By my memory, it was a mixture of
>anticipated superhero sequel
>Nolan being so hyped at the time
>Nolan being full of himself about DKR
>Aiden Gillen had a popular part in GoT
>pretty much everything about the sequence from writing to choreography was bad and exploitable, with 4u being the cherry on top
Its success was as close as you can get to a perfect storm.

What's your favourite /banecore/?

The most hilarious thing about Baneposting is that the 'for you' isn't even in response to 'you're a big guy', Bane was merely finishing his sentence.

There were no survivors.

>In '14 Masketta released this, UUUU, their most accomplished album. I think I their undisputed masterpiece is "Hothead," a song so catchy that most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of baneposting and the importance of hotheads. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.

CIA, it's Bane, The Masketta Man. You're an agent so I think you should know: I've crashed a lot of planes. Some private jets over the Atlantic uh, some concords maybe 5 or 10 um a Legacy 600 I met in Luton Airport. I left it in the Thames. I crashed a Boeing 747, with no survivors, and some biplanes uh with a dog-fighter last week. I crashed another plane, I had to, it almost landed safely and uh something else there I can't remember maybe a private jet, but it's a smoldering wreck too. And Flight 9525. I crashed Flight 9525 right into a mountain, the chassis is burning on the side of Massif des Trois-Évêchés. I don't want to leave anything out here. I guess I've crashed maybe 20 planes, maybe 40. I have tapes of a lot of it, uh some of the passengers have seen the tapes. I even, um... I broke some of their spines. Tonight I, uh, I just had to crash a LOT of planes. And I'm not sure I'm gonna get away with it this time. I guess I'll uh, I mean, ah, I guess I'm a pretty uh, I mean I guess I'm a sick Bane. So, if you get back tomorrow, I may show up at the Flight Plan, so you know, keep your eyes open.

Yea Forums peaked when this video was published: youtube.com/watch?v=YlqGvf4dYNY

Attached: 1401603492141.jpg (1280x720, 135K)

Don't forget that Bane's voice is a bit mockable and quotable which is why even normies were quoting Bane. It wasn't a forced low quality Yea Forums meme by some pajeets.

There was a power vacuum on Yea Forums, it wasn't 2011 anymore with Yea Forums and Zyzz being all the hype, but it wasn't 2016 with /pol/ either yet. So people just tried how big they could make a meme because the wasn't anything else big going on.

>wasn't anything else big going on.

I believe Baneposting is based fundamentally upon a lie.
CIA says it like 'Bane...' as in confirming it is in fact Bane who he and Masketta were talking about, with some anticipation even. But all actual written dialogue and the entire meme itself phrase it as a question; 'BANE?', as in asking if Bane is whom Masketta is referring to.

1) Literally every shot has something wrong with it, so there's so much content to mine.
2) At the time of release Nolan was a normalfag God, so they wouldn't co-opt and destroy something that mocks him
3) By the time Nolan worship died down, half the meme had evolved into being about its longevity, which barred newfags by default

Attached: explaining bane 2.jpg (640x1459, 306K)

>Mosquito man is actually a mosquito
This is my favourite thing about Baneposting lore. Even the fucking smallest aspects of the scene are memed into oblivion with creativity and shit loads of original content, like mosquito man and the pissing soldiers in the background.

Finally have contrarians who hate DC and Nolan a foothold, since TDK was a solid film at worst. Most people on here are unironic Marvelfags, and even though there’s no doubt exploitable and shitty scenes from Marvel films, the literal Disney shills will make sure those threads never catch on.

Dr Pavel? I'm CIA.

Attached: 1427395745514.jpg (726x609, 164K)

The fact that TDKR is considered solid by capeshit standards goes to show how utterly abysmal capeshit is in general.

Attached: 1544561062517.jpg (553x819, 28K)

>since TDK was a solid film at worst
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA God this board has fallen

youtube.com/watch?v=P6mH0x1gouk

To summarize, it was a perfect storm combination of all these things:
- Consistently awful, corny dialogue delivered with life-and-death seriousness
- CIA's expressions
- Bane's distorted voice
- Other corny dialogue and comically bad scenes from the rest of the movie to draw upon, including:
- A perfect label for and response to haters ("someone get this hothead outta here!")
- Simplicity makes spinoffs easy, which is why Baneposting has legs. Baneposting is a meme for the people; whether you can uncover all the hidden connections when some given fire rises IRL, or can just barely come up with a word that rhymes with Bane, you too can have fun with Baneposting. Contrast with Vinceposting which was the most absolute kino of Yea Forums memes but died out quickly because of the high effort required.
- The flight 4U crash truly immortalized the meme and drove it to new heights just as interest was starting to wane.

I should add that Baneposting is both easy to learn and difficult (and rewarding) to master, giving it that elusive quality of elegance combining simplicity and depth. For comparison, Sneedposting is a meme that relies on simplicity alone.

Attached: 1405977189529.jpg (680x494, 34K)

There were multiple Baneposting stickies, the Tom Hardy AMA, big videos (Banestar, Masketta's Man's UUUU EP), and of course the Germanwings 4U plane crash.

What do you think was going through his mind when he posted this?

Bane also balances recruitment by enjoyment with longevity from pissing people off.
You get an equal measure of people joining in for a laugh and people adding fuel to the fire, which further encourages people to join in just to annoy the autists.

Contrast with Sneed, which is already dying because even the biggest retards are starting to realise it only gets posted for the sake of attention, and is only noteworthy for being a tool used to drive a tumblr general from the board.

The vid is probably not the original. This started out as a post, some changes where made to the text, someone recorded the voice and then it was turned into a webm. I think the way it developed through these separate stages kept it from becoming more popular. Some of those lines are so good

I love that song, man. Really captures the essence of Bill Wilson's feelings.
