Marvel was one of the first diversity hires in publishing, hiring blacks, women, gays, Asians etc way way in the fifties and early sixties. Way before other companies did it by government mandates. They also added a ton of SJW stuff in their books again way before others did that. A lot of their stories were all "golly gee why can't we all get along and respect different peoples in life?" messages.They were super against racism and sexism by their company statements and practices. All this on Stan's watch too as head publisher, writer, editor etc. Maybe they still had a majority white male (with Jewish of course) staff who also were politically correct as the sixties, seventies and eighties allowed but so were lots of other people. Marvel wasn't par for the course in progressiveness it was ahead of the time and Lee was a huge influence.
