Honestly, the only action movie with a female protagonist that I can really think of (and remember enjoying) is Terminator 2. Sarah Conner in that movie feels tough and badass without ever really going into cringey YASSSSS QUEEN territory. It helps that they give her moments of vulnerability, like when she absolutely loses her shit upon seeing the T-800 return. But this is a very common opinion and I imagine that many will say the same thing.

Watch some Pam Grier movies if you're down with the brown. I don't know why men are so vocally against women action stars. Yes it's a ridiculous premise, but it's usually attractive women taking up the screen. It's fiction. What's wrong with that?

nah, second film kills off the best character in the first 5 minutes and then devolves into some sort of inane soap opera with a villain whose motivation makes no sense and drawn out dialogue scenes that add nothing to the story. There are a few good albeit brief action sequences but for the most part the only saving grace is Beckinsale and her beautiful pale skin. The original film on the other hand is one of the best action movies of the 21st century

I'm not saying there wasn't a lot of at action, I said there wasn't much GOOD action. 2 way overdoes it with the CGI while 1 was more restrained and relied more on Matrix-style martial arts scenes as opposed to flying monster chasing a truck that was 90% computer effects.

He's a poor substitute for the loss of three principal actors from the original that were part of what made it so great, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen and Shane Brolly. Also the first one had Erwin Leder as the memorable lycan scientist.
