Watching season 7 when it originally aired, I thought it was pretty terrible. But when viewed without commercials on DVD, the story has a better flow, and was way more enjoyable. Sure, the Leviathan aren't the best Supernatural had to offer, but Dick was a fun villain, and the ending sequence with the boys final attack on Dick's compound was an absolute blast.
I can understand why many people don't like it though. One of the main problems I still have with it is that Baby isn't in it as much. I know, little nitpick. But still, the Impala is a character, and it just feels wrong not seeing the boys driving around in it. However, its triumphant return is really awesome.

I am aware that season 7 is flawed but it has aged really really well. The Leviathans could have had more powers but the sheer number of layered references they have (bible, Thomas Hobbes and sociopolitical commentary, conspiracy reptilians/aliens that infiltrate society’s upper echelons, X-Files’ “there are no monsters/conspiracy” conspiracy, corporate greed, H.P. Lovecraft) is so cool. Shame that they flew over many people’s heads

Anna is an underrated character. She's one of the few angels who legitimately cared for humanity so much so that she willingly took her own grace and fell as a human so she could live among them. She taught Castiel to think for himself and develop free will. Castiel sold her out to Heaven and despite being tortured, she remained loyal to keeping the apocalypse prevented. Unfortunately, her determination to save humanity put her at odds with Heaven's senior management AND the Winchesters. And so she died because of her crusade. RIP. She deserved so much better.
