Been a long time since i've seen a neutral Star vs thread, even if it isn't that neutral. Haven't been to this board in a long time.
Of course it was a good show, it had amazing moments and knew how to deliver various moments, Credit is die to where credit is due. I was never interested in the shipping so i don' care about that or the waifus.
Season one was a fun thing with a focus on simplw adventures and a neat animation style that basically said "things'll be weird, just sit back and enjoy the nonsense" and did delivered. Meanwhile season 2 knew how to build a background and gave us insight of the world in a lot of ways it worked.
I do see where the most common complains were but we have to be honest and try to keep a cool head, no storyboarder "ruined things" by herself or anything, i also forgot her name. Given how things happened during the last season it is more probable something else is what happened.
There was already a finalle planned but Nefcy was never sure of the exact number of seasons she would be allowed to make, so that's why everything was consiatent during the first seasons while on the later half things got shaky narrative-wise, and tried stretching things to accomodate, giving incredibly mixed results when the ending came.
I'll be honest, while i think the last episode was cute enough to a degree, it did left a lot of bad notes with how many things were either shoved under the rug or simply derailed characters. I didn't care for starco.
and for old's time sake and see if it does happen again.

Change Your Mind suffered because of the pacing, the execution was about what was expected. Few more episodes to build up White and it would've been much better.
Star on the other hand failed at pacing AND execution. Star just randomly decides magic is bad and wipes it out. Problem solved, she gets Marco and then Nefcy says she deliberately left it open-ended on purpose for reasons.

Star vs finale needed to be an hour special. If they had tried Eclipsa's plan and still failed, forcing a conversation with Glossaryck and the MHC which lead to planning a magical turn off/reset... it would have been good.
An epilogue note with Earth-ni years later would have been nice.
