I need to decide on what I want to do with the speech bubbles. Traditional ones fit better, but I really like coming up with distinctive bubbles. I'll have to find less clunky ones.
>What webcomic started your obsession? First one I fell in love with was Brawl in the Family. Its still my favorite. The one that made me say "Hey, I think i can do this" was It Hurts! by gobolatula. It had the mix of a good plot and ridiculous humor that I wanted to do. Where things could get heavy, with violence and action but still be funny. Tails gets Trolled may have had some influence as well.
I thought you guys were going to self publish/crowdfund?
Jackson Smith
>have team of five >not sure how many major supporting characters there should be >also not sure how many major members of the main villain group there should be Cast calculus is hard.
Benjamin Nguyen
We're going to do that if no one picks us up. Goal isn't to make money either way, it's to be able to fund additional issues. Therefore, regardless of which way we'd go, the money would go into the team in order to produce these more quickly and consistently.
Christopher Murphy
You're mistaken, my comic is going to be very gay.
Brody Foster
Fucking amazing. I have a funny setup for my half, but I can't think of any satisfying payoff... unless I just make it go right into a surrender :p
Ian Myers
i made a page today which made me think: now this is about to destroy the artistic aspects of andrew hussie. i hadn't thought of it before i started making it mspfa.com/?s=31590&p=1 also i added a link to the recap 1 on the first page because i think it would make easier reading as an option; to look at first
I really struggle with effects and stuff.I struggle with CSP's effect tools, so I wind up trying to draw them myself. Anybody got some good guides on that kind of thing?
Not even surprised you like BitF. I feel like you could be a worthy successor someday.
Sebastian Cooper
take it from me, keep the cast as small as you can if you have a new person you want to introduce, try folding it in with another character. it makes them multifaceted.
John Robinson
There's a lot of tutorials for that stuff online, it's funny how japan seems to lack a lot of websites you would expect them to have, like thorough wiki for all the major japanese franchises... but for clipstudio tool guides? They are almost autistically thorough. Just look those up, they are usually translated on clipstudio's site. Personally I like the slightly rough, homemade look of this comic, and I'm happy with it just the way it is. But I can see why you'd want to save some time, and I certainly want more updates.
Jose Morales
what's a hosting solution for a webcomic?
Henry Scott
tapas, webtoons, and comicfury.
Mason Gutierrez
>webtoons can u get published your comic with some editorial if you're popular?
Adrian Torres
glitchy mobileshit, mobileshit that is about to start requiring you to register an account to see anything, and restrictive and goes down constantly.
I say pick a host that nobody has used in ages, but still works.
Brody Jenkins
I'm curious how much is it roughly to fund a whole comic book team? are you doing it old school with separate artists doing pencils, inks, color, and lettering?
Parker Allen
Does she have all the expected spider grill powers? Seems like you could make something fun from all the legs alone.
James Powell
as a jyourougumo, she can summon spiders and manipulate fire (she can really just flick small fireballs) she can also fire urticating hairs into people's eyes, but gasolina is wisely wearing goggles I have an idea that relates to her being this postapocalyptic desert dweller, Arachne's gonna try hiding under sand like some spiders do. That also saves me having to draw her over and over then I have a few ideas, then it just has to end in a satisfying shot of them fighting. You might have to wait a bit because I have commissions AND two fucking webcomic fanart contests to enter before the month's over, but I AM planning this as I go.
The money (be it from a publisher or crowdfunding) would go to everyone else. Hell, I'd be happy to raise or be able to get enough capital for even half or 2/3rds of a comic. That'd severely lessen the financial burden I have to carry.
Samuel James
no fucking wonder the industry's dying
Xavier Nguyen
Dropping the design for an elite squad my bf and I have been working on
The sad thing is? These guys are giving me extremely fair prices. They know it, I know it, thus I've got zero incentive to take advantage of them. The guy who does the coloring for all the stuff I've worked on is immensely generous. I still can't figure as to why he even spends his time on my projects. Maybe it's just easy money for him, I don't ask.
You can draw awesome Admiral pizza fanart! And you can win 20 dollar$!! That's enough for a large pizza! Even if you lose, you still WIN I'll put you in my next book! You have everything to gain and nothing to lose!
I think it's a shame every comic has to be a labor of love. You'd think all the comic book movies and shows would end up helping the comic industry a little, but nope. Hope you can find a publisher!
Hell yes!! If your life sucks just enter my stress free pizza contest but hurry up go go go
Xavier Ross
I think ill ignore that, but mildly appreciated.
Brayden Clark
>Sonichu makes a pizza >but he makes it too fast and the quality suffers >Admiral Pizza berates Sonichu for his low quality pizza >They fight >and then after fighting they fuck
Angel Hernandez
Appreciate the thoughts.
Lincoln Foster
nobody's been banned lol
Ethan Gray
i whipped this up pretty quick. This may be the weirdest mecha i have made so far.
Drawing one big bg that I can reuse and some ''textures'' that I can morph around sure saved a lot of time on panel bgs, looking forward to what more I can do!
Looking good! Though there is a small spelling error on the very last panel- it should read, "I should've known better", instead of "should've know better"
I took a while, cause this update is extra large. Too much suffering was brought upon this world because of a simple bath, godammit...time to finish this...in the next update.
Nope, I color pinks and reds in the comic, so her hair isn't pink. Ignore the comic thumbnail...that's me playing with colors. Her hair is platinum blonde. I'm in one server now, btw.
No webcomic inspired me, lol.
You'll have to excuse me guys. I haven't slept at all these last two days....zzzz
Eat shit. It was one of the best drawn and best designed comics in these threads.
Carson Fisher
Doesn't mean shit, dewd posts here
Josiah Evans
Merchant and Pike was good.
Wyatt Gonzalez
Whatever helps you sleep
Luke Taylor
But it was. It was objectively good.
Name a comic better than it.
Nathan Bailey
>Merchant and Pike? Summarize the story, please?
Kevin Harris
Retard
Brandon Martin
How do you guys normally summarize your stories?
A few sentences or one or two pages?
Bentley Green
The entire plot or just what is it about?
Whats about is: Kingdom is under the constant attack of man-eating onis. Two oni sister who are traveling to the Capital in search of humans to eat become the targets of a Demon Hunter, so they join a clan of their own to survive. Reveals occur.
A way more interesting and spoilery summary can be done but it would ruin the fun.
Lady knight and her sidekick go treasure hunting in dungeons.
Dylan Torres
I see, I'll check it out.
Dylan Reyes
seeing people with more talent than me not really going anywhere and i can't figure out if it's because they're not really interested/trying to get further ahead, or because that's where they belong and i'm going to see even less viewership.
>No one cares that Merchant and Pike is dead Damn hwy. You guys really have nothing to say?
William Wright
How do you all stay focused on one story? I have 10 ideas written and drawn out and keep going back and forth between them. Creative ADD is a fucking terrible thing.
