How many self-inserts does one show need?

How many self-inserts does one show need?

She has a boring life so she has to put "herself" in the show so it feels like she actually does stuff

>make a character that is basically you
>not make characters that reflect your fears and insecurities
Pathetic

Dana-sona is for lewding

her design doesn't appeal to me, but her small size is ticking my doll/fairy size fetish really hard

Her head makes no sense. It looks like she's wearing a wig.

>making a character design based on how you're too lazy to redye your hair

This is how desperate millennials are to seem interesting

People self inserting into media is as old as deviant art. All you fuckers would do the same if you had the opportunity.

They've usually been disguised a bit better than just being 1:1 as a main character.

I don't think a show has ever had so little interest and so many delays

Usually they have more nuance about it and less LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT MEEEEEE

Are they important Chatacters of just side/irrelevant?

>Patrick McHale uses two self-inserts

>Yea Forums: Haha, that's pretty cool

>Dana Terrace does the same

>Yea Forums (before the show even premieres): REEEEE, WHAT AN UNCREATIVE ATTENTION WHORE!!

Lmao, you guys just love to complain about nothing

I would insert myself into her if you know what I mean

Someone post the american psycho shitposts

Patrick McHale only did one and he portrayed himself as a dumpy loser who somehow managed to get girls since that was the joke. He also only showed up in maybe 4 minutes worth of screentime.

Wirt is not the same kind of self-insert. Cartoonists have made characters inspired by them all the time. Mac from Foster's Home, Dipper from Gravity Falls, Flapjack. People have even put cameos of themselves in cartoons.

But it's very rare when someone puts just a smug cartoon version of themselves with no difference and it still turns out to not just be terribly written.

it's usually the friends of artists and not artists themselves that insert cameos into their work. like how ian jq continues to show up in steven universe backgrounds despite leaving the show

dana is blatantly putting herself in this cartoon though. it's pathetic

It's even older. Don't you dumb fuckers realize this? People have self-inserted into art since the dawn of art. Think of the Divine Comedy. Dante, the author, is LITERALLY a character in the Commedia. He's the main character! It's the ultimate self-insert fiction.

But we forgive that because the Commedia is very, very good. That's the entire thing. The rules of storytelling, which forbid things like self-inserts, can be broken by geniuses and high-level artists. But is Dana a genius? Is she an incredible, transcendent artist? Is Owl House going to be on the level of the Divine Comedy?

I think you already know the answer to that.

Reminder Dana made the exact type of show her teenage self would've hated.

Wow it's as if people can change as they grow up.

No I wouldn't, because I'm fucking boring and the last person I'd want to see as a character in a cartoon.

I'd insert my self into her desu

This show is going to suck balls and be worse then seasons 3 and 4 of star vs, im only interested in porn of the milf witch.

No they can't, stop making shit up.

That's actually a bad thing if she's trying to make a show for teenagers with similar tastes to hers.

Someone post the gif.

Nigga they been doing that far longer

There's a difference between changing and becoming what you hate.

It's like shitting on capitalists all your young life and then growing up to be a CEO who screws people over.

Don't pretend anyone reads beyond inferno.
