the closest thing i can think of was that animated episode of tales from the crypt and the el superbeasto movie
In the 1930s, most of them were.
Betty Boop's Snow White probably gave your great-grandmother nightmares.

in the Mad Doctor, he was going to carve up Pluto.

closer to action/comedy than horror
All of can think of is Treehouse of Horror, and even the nastiest bits are played for laughs.
I think OP means an actually scary cartoon.
Does Spawn count as horror?
If this was the case OP wouldn't mention horror anime
Savage
Animatrix?
I personally find this one mildly uncomfortable

>”horror anime”
none that shit aint scary
If we're talking about just TV cartoons, then deadtime stories from MTV.
Was only a pilot though and didn't get picked up because it's MTV.

>horror
>has to be scary or it's not horror
You go back to /x/ and wank over how nothing scares you there.
...Off the air? Really reaching since it's an anthology show that's both live action and animated.
This particular episode is probably the most unsettling but also is only like 30% animated.

No
Kind of off topic but CN has helped fund getting Uzumaki animated. Its looks nice and eerie.
Ah, so you are the ''atmospheric'' one huh
seriously, watch some 1930s cartoons, especially Fleischer.
Horror and animation are a terrible mix.
All those horror anime aren't very scary when compared to even just decent live action horror.
>he hasn't seen mad god
It's a shame that everything that makes Uzumaki Uzumaki, the obsession of the victims, the downward spiral they sink into, is all in the first three chapters. After that, it's just your usual silly/weird Ito one-shots loosely tied together by a spiral theme.
I feel like the guy only try to be scary sometimes like when he wrote his "army of one" story, most of the time he's just writing some random bullshit while drunk.
We got like 2 or 3 decent horror movies per DECADE
I think that's kinda scary

>that guy who made the sillyputty jason movie
source?
Western animation seems to prefer stop-motion for horror cartoons. Maybe it's because stop-motion has an uncanny valley effect.
>>bobby yeah
indie not studio
Not really scary or even trying to be scary as well, is just creepy.
I wish I could make cartoons like these.
Believe in yourself
The ending was kinda disturbing yes
Not really horror but still scary as fuck
No, all big studios want to be "family friendly"
