I don't mind ridicule, thanks for the input.
Hey Yea Forums I read the entire JJ Abrams Spider-Man #1
you're welcome. I wasn't trying to be mean spirited at all, just being honest.
I understand. To explain why my face is on the screen, it's because I started doing these comic readings as part of my livestream (I'm a fulltime Twitch streamer) so that's just my OBS setting.
I'm not remotely skilled in any after-effects or things capable of producing motion comics. I just wanted something creative to pour my love for comicbooks into and this was the result.
Honestly, you're not putting out anything that sets you apart from the other people who read comics on YouTube. You need something of substance. If you love comic books, maybe do some videos discussing elements you love, elements you hate, your favourite runs, etc.
Then again, I never had a video reach 1K views, so what the hell do I know.
my advice would simply be to spend more effort. if it's something you're just doing on a stream, it's fine because your people are going to watch anyway.
but if you want to make something specifically for youtube, something that is built to last, you need to spend more effort on it. even something as simple as this USM one
it doesn't have to be animated, but if it doesn't look like the creator himself gives a damn, why should I as a viewer give a damn?
addendum: one thing that you don't have when reading a comic from a page is music or sound. that's something that a motion comic should absolutely be exploiting. there are a variety of sound effect resources of library music you can use to spice these things up.
basically, unless this video is doing something that the comic isn't, it's a pointless exercise. that's why I rate the watchmen motion comic so highly. it's a wonderful experience that compliments rather than competes against reading the comic
could you not be quite as blatant about stealing these books then? If you actually claim to do this as a part of your income at least torrent the things and use a reader, if you actually get any popular they're going to take the site down.
yeah a good point as well. don't read the thing off a browser. not only does it look "cheap" but it will get your videos deleted
Oh I don't give a fuck about his lazy ass videos I don't want them doing anything to those comic websites. The literal hundreds of dollars I've been able to save (and being able to read back issues of comics I currently purchase) leads me to be protective over those sites
yeah I agree with that point as well. many of us enjoy these resources and don't want any undue attention brought upon them.
