BlApril O'Neil

Do people like the ROTTMNT April O'Neil?

I don't ever see fanart of her or discussions about her. Her coming up in discussions about other Aprils, but that's it.

I don't mind the personality, and I don't mind the race change. I just mind the design. She's too Irma looking, that's my main issue with it. I feel like Jessica should've been the black-April look for the show.

Just like your dad

This and this.

She's fine. She works well as a supporting character and in small doses. They made a pretty deliberate choice that her "forte" isn't being a cool female ninja who can kick ass just as much s the turtles, but a street smart girl who can act as their bridge to the human world.

But this is a comedy show first and foremost, so she's relegated to a lot of bit roles and no standout moments. So while she's not bad, she's not memorable either.

As for fanart, a lot of artists love to self-insert into powerful female leads, and a lot of artists like to draw sexy female leads. This April isn't powerful and she (deliberately, especially after turtles 2012) is not at all sexy.

I wanna fuck the hoe

She's got some good r34 shit but not enough I need more

She's a pretty good Casey. I did not watch the 2012 series and I don't have any recollection of April in the 2003 series. Most of the porn I see are for the 80s/90s April and the loli April for pedophiles.

Well said. If you want to jerk off, there's plenty of porn for the other incarnations.

>She works well as a supporting character

She's barely in the show, and barely a character. We know she's a student, not popular at school, and has had a bunch of jobs. That's about it. Shit, we don't even know why the fuck this girl is friends with a bunch of bizarre mutants.

>They made a pretty deliberate choice that her "forte" isn't being a cool female ninja who can kick ass just as much s the turtles, but a street smart girl who can act as their bridge to the human world.
That's not a deliberate choice. That's literally always been Aprils role in the franchise.

>We want a black April
Fine. It's a new show a new interpretation.
>And she's a nerd
Well okay. This may give her something to talk to Donnie about.
>And she's also a totally sassy take no shit tomboy action girl with an energy bat
For fuck's sake. Just pick one thing guys. This whole mess just screams DESIGNED BY COMMITTEE.

But she's not April.

She has never used an energy bat in the show, and her personality is more "aw hell naw" black girl that is always mad she keeps getting fired from jobs than anything you said.

Even as a supporting character she fails pretty hard. It reminds me of... well, Babylon 5. It was a show with actors that were doing these over-the-top larger-than-life characters with clearly defined character traits. And one actress decided that no, she was going to do a subdued take on her character. Just say the lines. Just try to blend into the scenery, even after the directors flat-out told her it wasn't working well. She got written out of the show.

When you're surrounded by larger-than-life characters, being "the normal and relatively subdued one" doesn't work.

It was inconsistent. She definitely was the sassy tomboy in the Stockman ep and the pilot. And she was the "aw hell naw, I'm fired again" girl in other eps. And sometimes she was a noncombatant, but in the pilot and most recent ep she charged right in and could fight Foot Ninjas that gave the boys trouble.

The writers never bothered coming to a consensus about her.

>That's literally always been Aprils role in the franchise.
Not in the 2012 series.

Take moment and twist your body to get your ass and chest facing the same direction

Yeah I do. I really think she's the only time April's ever made any sense hanging around. She has a fun personality that gels well with the turtles.

Aprils that could kick ass:
2012
2008
Archie
2006

And for pity's sake "Rise April is a street smart girl who can act as their bridge to the human world"? Fuuuck no. She's worthless to them because she's not popular at school, not "street smart," not even consistently employed. If they're REEEEALLY lucky her job of the week might be something important, but it's more more likely that it resulted in her needing their help.

This is April that is friends with them for no apparent reason, and is of no use to them, and honestly isn't that good a friend either (remember when Donnie went to school to help her then ditched her to hang with "the cool kids" instead?)

In a show that was nothing but weak links, she was the weakest link.
