What Yea Forums-related characters would be successful at vanquishing the Lady of Pain?
You'd need the high-tier cosmics to be even slightly relevant here. And it's debatable whether or not they can actually win.
Depends who's DMing.
The Lady is the sort of threat that isn't beaten, just survived. Very powerful Yea Forums characters start that fight, and then manage to stay alive long enough to escape without ever actually defeating her. Most characters run afoul of the Lady and if they are lucky they just get mazed and have to do weird comic book shit to get out. If they are unlucky, they die a horrible death and its impossible to bring them back to life.
People wank Thought Robot Superman as being the manifestation of superman always winning no matter what. The Lady of Pain, in her setting, is the in-game representation of "there is always something bigger than you are". The actual, literal gods are so far below the Lady that she can keep them from setting foot on her stage as a passive effect, never even bothering to have to fight them directly.
What he said.
Lady of pain is less of an in-universe powerful character, and more of a meta device.
She's could only be beaten by characters who are aware of the fourth wall and can manipulate the world outside of it. Characters with strong toonforce/toonphysics have a chance to survive her and be on the run, but not beat her.
Yea Forums - Power Level Debating
I'm not even convinced that 4th wall malarky would be a safe bet. Remember, Sigil explicitly has portals to *everywhere*. Its not hard to imagine that her reach extends into the space between the panels.
If anything, that might explain where she goes whenever she isn't executing a sentence. Most of the time the Lady just isn't... anywhere.
>some fuckboy tries to hide out in-between pages whilst setting up a powerbase for himself
>The Lady is already there
She fucked with the God of Portals with a single action.
She fucks any God with a single action.
This crazy fuck might be able to pull it off.
I know he's a Yea Forums character, but he can:
>Reset timelines to the point where the embodiment of chaos itself, who lacks rules entirely, is put back in it's prison.
>Any time he dies or fails, he resets time to when he died/failed and doesn't. There is literally no way to stop him from doing this.
>Isn't just a "God of fate/destiny". He IS destiny.
>He survives the end of the universe like it's nothing.
>He can override fate in his favor. His fate is 100% up to him.
>Even without these powers, he's also a beast of a cybernetic soldier who can probably kick the shit out of most D&D PC's.
I think I could take a crack at it....
The Lady of Pain is literally "You Fucking Lose." There is no way to kill her. There is no way to harm her. You can't even actually fight her because that implies you stand a chance. Getting actually killed by her is basically impossible to recover from
Point is, rules don't work on this guy. You can't just "Snap him out of existence". He just makes it so that he didn't. He's like GER, in a way.
>power level threads
no
The lady never met Steven or the Axiom.
Forgot pic.
Not exactly Yea Forums related but he could do it.
He would lose, because The Lady is simply a neutral being who canonically auto-kills anyone who interacts with it.
I mean, what if the concept of death doesn't apply to you?
The problem is that both characters have "I expressly ignore the rules" as a power. I'd likely give it to the lady because a core part of her is that she's above everything else. The other dude can apparently fail at things but gets a reset button. I'd say that puts him below her. Then again, I'm not familiar with the character so I could be wrong here.
The problem there is that she doesn't have divine ranks nor does she need followers. Her existence pretty much runs contrary to the way all other "gods" function in the setting. Hell, she kills anyone dumb enough to try worshiping her which, in universe, should weaken her considering there's a direct correlation between followers and divine power. In a setting dominated by a similar idea of faith being able to prop up gods and even fundamental truths the lady casually ignores it all and is literally above it.
Like other anons pointed out, she functions in a similar matter. The thought robot is supposed to be a meta-narrative being, assuming I'm recalling it's functionally. The lady fulfills a similar role. If anything I'd suspect they'd just whang off each other with neither accomplishing anything.
The concept of death doesnt apply to most gods, either. The Lady doesn't care.
Cheese Ray
I mean, initially, he can fail, but when he fully masters his abilities, he essentially becomes her level, if not higher.
I'd argue there isn't a higher. Just like with the thought robot there gets to be a point where nothing can surpass it, just rival it. I'd say in vs threads I wouldn't use a character that's the rough equivalent of a "nope.jpg" image macro. I mean, how do you get higher than "Can do everything including break the rules of everything including the things that weren't expressly stated to be things but fuck it here we are." I feel like there's a cap on the power a character can have in that regard. Once a character is at that point it's just equal to other characters that are in the same ballpark.
Doesn't matter.
The Lady has killed things that were never born, survived attacked that rewrite time, and one-hit-killed gods so hard that all of their worshippers everywhere in the multiverse instantly died at the same time as collateral damage.
Any being she kills cannot be found in the afterlife, or raised from the dead, even with wish granting artifacts or divine miracles. When the Lady flays you, there is nothing left of you physically or metaphysically.
You have to understand, the Lady of Pain's only purpose is to serve as the reason why an infinite number of beings of omnipotent power are not fighting over the most valuable real estate in the multiverse. And that reason is "The Lady of Pain already owns it, and all of you combined wouldnt survive against her".
>a point where nothing can surpass it
Yog-Sothoth.
We can assume that Destiny itself is a higher concept than a mere God.
In planescape terms, Though Robot Superman is a metaphysical concept made manifest. That makes him very powerful, but you know what else that makes him?
LITERALLY a god.
Planescape is a setting where the power of belief explicitly makes things real. More than half the setting material takes place in the afterlife/in the realms of the gods. Its the sort of setting where you can debate a normal dude so hard that if you can convince him that he doesn't exist, he actually vanishes in a puff of logic.
Nothing about Thought Robot Superman is exceptional in the context of Planescape. He is a god, but thats all he is. And that firmly places him below Lady of Pain's level.
/tg/ powerlevel fags are somehow worse than Yea Forums and Yea Forums combined.
Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite would body this ho.
Do you have any idea how many 'Gods of Destiny' there are? Its hardly a unique claim to fame.
The Lady of Pain is as far beyond Gods as they are beyond everything else.
This board has swathes of autists that thinks death battle as gospel
The axiom surpass her. All things to be, are, and has been is willed to be by it. Your lady is a child of it too. No matter what you say or do about her, it all points back to the Axiom.
The Axiom never does anything other than create Messiahs, so it's a moot point.
He isn't just a "God of Destiny". He IS destiny.
That's the same for basically every single DnD God, you realize?
