Did anyone else find Tomar-Tu to be a really compelling villain? I never gave a shit about him as a hero, but as a villain he was really good. You could feel the resentment coming off him in every panel.

That was his dad. Tomar Tu was pissy that the Corps wasn't full on eliminating violent criminals and even palling around with them (red and yellow lanterns). Plus the fact that his dad's murderer was running around on Earth free and the added bonus fuck you that the Controllers themselves were planning on being etraying the Darkstars themselves, trapping them in their armors and making their recruits slaves for their dreams of universal conquest.
Hence him snapping andhijacking the Darkstars scheme for himself to cleanse the Galaxy of murderous scum.

Man, I'd forgotten about that part. Tomar-Tu is a fucking badass.
He's also a nice change of pace from Relic and all the other Giant Cosmic Asshole villains.

It's kind of tragic considering Tomar-Tu thing was that he was very trusting and optimistic. He was the only lost lantern that forgave Hal for the Parallax business. Then he was expected to work with Romat-Ru and he fucking snapped.

Yeah, you really feel for him. In a way, it seems like he had a point about the Lanterns not being true to justice, since they were allying with the Sinestro Corps and eventually even Zod.
