Manhattan already won. He already altered reality and made Bendis the Superman writer.

He eats me and he has infinite pooping syndrome
Logan Rivera
Man remember when this book was supposed to fucking matter? And then Cereal Boy kept dropping the ball for so long that we now have the Bendisverse instead of whatever the fuck they were originally planning?
Jayden Brown
Apparently it's not going to be settled in a fight. It really does seem like Manhattan wants an answer that only Superman can answer. There's also the chance that Ozy kills Manhattan and Superman tries to stop it and it gives that look of Superman killing Manhattan.
Nolan Sanchez

So, does Ozy plan on dying at either Superman or Manhattans hands? Is he planning to off himself? The way he's talking, about this world being his tomb, makes it seem he's not planning on living to see the end of this.
Chase Cooper
Superman runs so quick that manhattens cant transform his matter ir use his time kniwledge power. Than punch him so hard that manhattens molecules are so far over the universe that it takes a million years of time to reform!

I don't read DC anymore but didn't this start like two years ago?

I'm of the opinion this and the current JL run will lead to another crisis event.

wow sure was worth it to continue the story started by Moore

Sure feels based loving Darwyne Cookes Before Watchmen, as well as Geoff Johns Doomsday Clock.
Connor Torres
So, after so many retcons, what exactly is canon now? Does anyone knows what's still in continuity or not?
Noah Moore
There is no continuity. Every writer is doing their own thing now. DC's canon is in shambles.

Superman punches Dr. Manhattan to death and DBZtards around the Earth die of strokes.
>How it will end
Dr. Manhattan destroys the universe but has a case of the feels because he realizes that Superman tried to help, not hurt him. He restores the universe which allows for a slew of writer fiat just like Prime Time punching the walls of the universe did.

Superman teamed up with Zach Effron?
Best case scenario, Manhattan resets the DC Universe to the Silver Age, a simpler time when no one questioned Superman's trunks, crime-clowns committed crazy boners, Luthor and Sivana were diabolical mad geniuses with wtf plans, Power Rings came in one flavor with a yellow outlier, and Captain Marvel's genuine boyish decency wasn't an anachronism.
Re-construction, pls. I'm rather sick of the angst and pretention. At least the 90's had the decency to end.
Cameron White
Morrison, stay go.
Anthony Reed
The last 30 years of DC have brought more bad than good, once you remove Vertigo, which happened almost completely outside of the general comic book universe.
Wyatt Rivera
It was great before the New 52. It had some bad, but there was so much good.
Henry Foster
Silver Age Billy would probably shit on Manhattan.
Mason Martin
Manhattan gets the Superman experience via Hypertime/Metaverse and experiences what every Superman has gone through the years to fully understand who he is and why he does what he does, which convinces him to finally take action.
Luke Davis
Doomsday Cock is nothing but a meta-commentary on how bad DC's gotten, by the people that helped make it bad. I'm so, so tired of Johns "Alan Moore lite" schtick, and his endless lust for residuals.
The only lasting effect of this entire misguided series will be the introduction of Black Batman, or Blotman as I call him, and his (((OC))) Johns villains Mime an Marionette.
Fuck these cynical fuckers and their bad fanfictions.
Joshua Evans
Alan Moore WAS turning everything dark. Guy is a fucking joke.
>Takes someone as lovable as Adam Strange
>Retcons him so that the people of Raan were only keeping him around for breeding because they'd all become sterile
What a fucking joke
Benjamin Cooper
It's weird because Johns is/was clearly a big fan of Alan Moore's work. Or at least, Alan Moore's DC work.
Maybe the raccoon comment hit Johns harder than he let on.
Angel James
>Guy is a fucking joke
What's Tom Strong and Supreme you dumbass casual?
Alan's done more to stay true to the silver age spirit than Johns and his cronies ever has. FUCK YOU.
Isaiah Adams
Watchmen was meant to be a mad wizard throwing rocks at the windows from the outside.
It was never supposed to become the default flavor of the DC Universe. Cynical contrarianism and self-awareness weren't supposed to become the status quo.
Luis Moore
A smaller slice of a very large and edgy pie, nitwit. Literally cannot believe anyone would think Johns doesn't love the silver age.
True, but Alan Moore did nothing to soothe it. He put out a lot of edgy shit.
Angel Parker
It was envisioned by Moore himself as an Earth-5 story. He never meant for it to be a guidebook for how to write DC characters AND SAID AS MUCH.
You want to know who the real edgelords were? Look at the brainchilds behind Identity Crisis.
Caleb Rivera
>Superman tells Dr Manhattan that his dick is too small
>Manhattan goes back to his universe humiliated and erases everyone's memory so they can't make fun of him
There, now pay me DC.
Julian Edwards
In short, just because Alan Moore writes Alan Quartermain as an opium sot, it isn't a call to re-issue the old Quartermain stories with him re-written to be a junkie.
Carter Jenkins
Kneel.
Christopher Diaz
You stupid casual. Alan Moore did a "comics have gone too dark" story in 2000 AD years before silver age nostalgia became hip. You had a happy go lucky character resisting being grimified and everything.
Alan Moore is not to blame, no matter how hard retards try to push the meme.
Liam Rivera
According to that image the moon orbits around the poles and from north to south, johns and Frank are dumber than 1rd graders
Jonathan Morgan
Morrison's meta-gibberish is just as tiresome.
Isaac Ramirez
Can he even be summoned again? Does Superman need Ultraman?
Hunter Rivera
Yes, I forget the amount of realism that goes into clashes being alien beings and nuclear empowered men.
Carter Moore
You are retarded if you think its about realism.
Hudson Martinez
I never once said it was entirely his fault for how edgy comics became. He was part of a larger problem.
Hell, we can all laugh at how awful Identity Crisis was, but off the top of my head I can think of these sexual assaults in his comics:
>Necronomicon fish-man rapes a poor girl in detail.
>Mr. Hyde rapes the Invisible Man
>Twilight of the Super-Heroes was gonna be a big ol' dark rape-o-rama
>Kid Marvelman ends up being raped
>Joker in the Killing Joke takes pictures of Barb after he cripples her and strips her naked
>Swamp Thing has possession rape
Hell, he even wrote an issue of Crossed.
Matthew Flores
The public for this comic is mostly really stupid people. When this shit came out i made a thread about the lack of editorial control, even in big books like this one and Johnsfags jumped into his defense. They are actual brainlets that can't see the issue with confusing NATO and the EU.

Mazinger Z can tap into the power of every Giant Robot in fiction combined.
He could defeat Meta robot Superman.
Hunter Russell
Just have TR Superman think of Lois.
Nathaniel Hughes
You clearly didn't understand what TR was, it wasn't a power up but an archetype, no lois involved.
Joshua Miller
He’s Superman. And he can’t be that without Lois.
Christian Jenkins
Powerlevel is literally worthless again TR. Its literally the narrative force of "Superman will save the day no matter what" personified.
Leo Russell
Sadly this.
The lost year and why its mostly not canon will be explained that manhatten undid most.
JSA might be still effecting the main continuity.
And the snap of SaturnGirl will be the explaination why Bendis Legion is different.
James Ortiz
God dammit user, your only crime is dreaming as big as I do. We'll never get to see that sunrise.
Oliver Williams
They should just do what Gardner Fox would have done if he had to write COIE.
COIE took place in another multiverse. In a multiverse without an Anti-Monitor, the Pre-Crisis multiverse continues churning along happily.
COIE was just an imaginary story to this multiverse. You can even have them reference other Pre-Crisis multiverses like the one that got rescued in Convergence and the one in Psycho Pirate's mask as being strange echos of the multiverse.
That's all the post-crisis continuity has been--strange echoes of the true multiverse.
Logan Miller
Just shut up brainlet.
Anthony Perez
Talk him into willing himself into inexistence?
Henry Hughes
Deus Ex Machina
Benjamin Adams
You realized Mazinger has the same Meta bullshit but applied to Giant Robots instead of super heroes right?
They are in a standstill, neither of them can win or loose since their whole point is that they always win,
Jason Ward
What narrative force does he represent, and is it equivalent/greater than that?
Oliver Rodriguez
>True, but Alan Moore did nothing to soothe it.
this is objectively not true considering how Moore wrote Supreme after watchmen
Kayden Jackson
Reminds me of that funny MSPaint comic where Manhattan says something like "nothing matters" and Superman says "but it does" and everyone is like "oooohhh" and Rorschach just says "ITS." I swear I've wanted to save that three times and never seem to do it.
Wyatt Morales
>Supreme after Watchmen
Right, but what about the rest After Watchmen he tried to write the darkest DC story ever, so fucking grimdark it had to be cancelled. Nice revisionist history tho.
Oliver Watson
are you retarded? No one is disputing that Moore likes to write dark stories with themes of sexual assault, you're the dumbass trying to blame Moore for other, less talented writers copying his motifs and dumbing them down. A story having assault and rape in it doesn't make it edgy.
>After Watchmen he tried to write the darkest DC story ever,
which doesn't negate that he also wrote supreme, and tom strong or that his Swamp Thing wasn't actually that edgy like you claim
Ryan Garcia
I have never once in this thread blamed Moore for other writers. Why does every single one of you get so insecure about Moore? He doesn't need you getting insecure for him. He's doing a fine enough job regretting his entire lifes work on his own.
Aaron Hughes
I thought Rebirth was already supposed to have done that.
The Doomsday Clock - it's really called that - is the real-life metaphor used by serious scientists to indicate how badly the world is fucked. It featured in 'Watchmen', adding to the whole motif.
thebulletin.org
The clock is currently at 2 to midnight, which is as bad as it has ever been even during the height of the cold war.
Camden Bailey
>ywn have a Superman blue lanter run
fuck this world.
John Gomez
>I thought Rebirth was already supposed to have done that.
So a little bit before that, Convergence brought back the previous continuities and pretty much announced that everything still happened. It doesn't really change the current Universe, the world, etc.
It doesn't change the fact Final Crisis happened before Batman ever met Darkseid, or that the entire history of Batman books were condensed into five years. I want to actually read about Thannagar and Rann having a war.
He already inspires hope around the world and often goes on cosmic adventures. Gimme some ideas for what could happen in that run.
David Allen
Sorry I forgot to mention, Rebirth was supposed to be a spiritual return to form. The feeling of happiness, etc. It's not bringing back the Universe. It brought back Wally, but Convergence already brought back 1986 Superman.
Daniel Jenkins
Jesus Christ that's pretentious.
Adrian Jones
You are the one that's focusing on Moore, you shouldn't be surprised that people are calling you out.
Austin Hughes
>He already inspires hope around the world and often goes on cosmic adventures. Gimme some ideas for what could happen in that run.
He could help Saint Walker in restoring the corps (it's still composed by him alone isn't it?), for example.
Nolan Hernandez
>Called me oot
I called YOU fuckers out. Once again, you're trying to revise history. Yoikers.
Jaxon Cook
>I called YOU fuckers out
On what? Moore writing dark stories?
Next you're going to tell me that the sky is blue
Brody Baker
Kayden Wright
>comic teases a direct confrontation between Superman and Manhattan
>turns out Superman was doing something else and got accidentally punched into Manhattan's path
there are literally no stakes
Isaac Myers
>What narrative force does he represent
A hand that has just put a comic down and is reaching for another one.
His minions are cynicism, indifference and jadedness; they have destroyed a multiverse (the Marvel multiverse was destroyed that same month) with their machinations, and now Empty Hand wants to do it again, and again, and again.
Because he is bored, and wants the brief stimulation of comics desperately trying to appeal to something in his dead soul; and he refuses to do something else.
He could get up and leave comics behind, go out and do something fun, useful, constructive; but instead he opts to stay where he is and destroy comics by mocking them and saying how bad they have gotten, and how little they appeal to him anymore.
.....Maybe that symbol on his head should have been a Yea Forums instead.
Joshua Cooper
Pink penis must defeat blue penis.
Mason Lopez
>He could get up and leave comics behind, go out and do something fun, useful, constructive; but instead he opts to stay where he is and destroy comics by mocking them and saying how bad they have gotten, and how little they appeal to him anymore.
nah those are the guys that control the Superman stand-in.
Jonathan Gray
>Manhattan makes fun of Supes underwear
>”Least I never wore a thong”
>Manhattan kills himself out shame and resets the Multiverse back to 1984 so no one remembers it
>Silver Age Kino back on the table
Jayden Reyes
Yeah, I don't know what that means.
Oliver Johnson
I blame WB's DCEU mishandling. If Snyder did his job right, WB would never have needed to bring Geoff Johns in to manage things. This is what sidetracked Johns and put a wrench in his Doomsday Clock plans. It didn't help that in the mean time, DC signed away the keys to their kingdom to Bendis and gave him literally everything.
Matthew Howard
>I have never once in this thread blamed Moore for other writers
But by saying Alan Moore is the reason comics got darker IS blaming him for shittier writers not being able to handle darker themes or making them the norm. Moore had absolutely no control over the comics industry and got fucked by them more often than not, blaming him for any sort of trajectory just shows how willfully ignorant you are.
Jaxson Phillips
Helps Jon regain his humanity.
Nothing ever ends, but it can also change.
Make a change for the better.
Xavier Clark
>implying TRS isn’t a super robot
Mazinger Z will then summon HIM, and then he’ll be either turned to his side or have a universe-breaking paradox/plot hole, considering the meta commentary nature of the two characters.
Oliver Gonzalez
maybe it’s both: they just do it in different ways
Gavin Bennett
