I found the characters enjoyable and there's no decompression, which is refreshing after reading a lot of modern comics that stretch a two-issue story out to fill a trade. It's been a while since I've read it though, so I can't deliver a better redpill than that.

Aren't they the same? All Star Squadron is just the JSA, but expanded to add all the other DC and Quality Comics Golden Age heroes.
