The problem isn't that he's alive, the problem is that the whole story that "proved" The Vision was innocent involved telling the cops that the body was burned. If word of him gets out, new investigations might open up. Since this is Ewing, I doubt this is just a minor oversight.

Correct, the Far Shore is beyond the Blank Page of Creation, where the Mystery lays, and the sort of "limbo" for ideas that are put to rest or die. Nice to see Ewing using it here shamelessly.
