Maybe the Asian kid's lunch did suck, and the white chef made it better with other ingredients. The only criticism that still works is against the hipster, and there's no punchline.

I no longer care about having an entire bookshelf of comics that I've read maybe once when I could just read them online for much cheaper and get the same experience. But I don't need a collection of Silver Age Green Lantern comics when I don't really have an interest in them outside of a few days every couple of years simply because I love the character. The solution is to help people resolve the issues that underlie their delusion as to why they don't "feel like the right gender," not to just let them surgically make reality match their delusions (which inevitably doesn't turn out the way they expect and makes the problems worse).

I'd say the most surefire way to make friends is to join a club or consistently do something. I made great friends by going to a knitting class every week, and I've been going for a little over 3 years now.
