Rebecca herself is inoffensive. It's her skills as a showrunner I question. She doesn't seem very willing or assertive in dealing with people who aren't doing well enough or holding back the rest of the team. She kept Zuke on board way longer than any sensible person should have simply because she was too worried about hurting her feelings and wanted to see the good in her. A good boss needs to know when to let someone go.

Cool show. Liked the filler episodes where Steven visited different parts of the Solar System and each planet had it's own play on classic science fiction. On Mars you had Martian Chronicles, the Asteroid Belt was full of miners, Pluto was home to space pirates, good stuff. I just don't understand what the hell is with Beach City. We've seen nobody living there, like it's a ghost town out in Salt and Sea or the Mojave, yet Steven apparently lives there.

It's based on the small beach towns Rebecca and her brother Steven visited as kids. There was an actual Funland near a Dewey Beach and everything.

Rebecca Sugar started out life as just a toilet, her father was a grill and her mother was a Beavis from Beavis and Butthead after being turned female due to an indecent with a 19th dimension alien over a bottle of cheese-water. As time pasted Rebecca grew from a toilet to a calculator to a guy to a hermaphrodite and finally into a 10 year old girl. She was very shy and loved animals, at least until a bunny rabbit robbed her for her sandwich and traumatized her, but until then animals were her only friends.

When she turned 16 she decided to stop being such an introvert and boldy went out into the world with a napkin in her shoe and love in her liver, and then a huge frozen ball of poo poo was dropped from a plane crushed her and then she died. She got better though, and woke up in her bed wondering if this was the afterlife, or it was a dream, or something else, but then she stopped caring and boldly went back out into the world with caution in her liver rather than love.

She made her way to the record store after being handed a razor given to her by a very stoned Steve Harwell and she picked up Death's album Scream Bloody Gore.

She took the record back home and listened to it and the album inspired her to take up a career in art! Going back out into the world, she bought a pencil, got to drawing like there was no tomorrow.

That is the true story of everyone's favorite cartoonist, Rebecca Sugar.

If you're asking for something negative, it bothers me that she used the terms "heteronormative" and "marginalized people" in interviews. Including the "non-binary" flag in one of the promos was also cringy as fuck, considering it's just a fashion label and doesn't refer to anything that actually exists. Otherwise, she's fine. She just has some obnoxious board artists working under her.

She's got a generally decent understanding of how to make a really boring set of chords into good music. I loved "Remember You", and that's literally just playing around with C and Fm.
That's about all I can say about her positively. Everything she does outside of her music is anything on a scale from harmless to aggravatingly mediocre.
