I have no idea what's up with Dreamkeepers. I only read it once when someone storytimed it here but apparently that the was the physical copy but there's a webcomic but that story is totally unrelated?
The writing doesn't seem to keep up with the art, the author is really fond of subverting expectations. I think everyone in the resistance who is not the main character conforms to a cliche but has a scene where they go "of course I understand [plot-important thing]. What did you think I am, a stereotype?". My favourite character was an evil slime the evil overlord sent that did the Gravemind thing and tauned his targets in iambic pentameter... until someone pointed out his meter is off, poked him in the eyes and he dropped it essentially in his introductory scene.
