It's interesting to put this against the recent Spider-Man "The Clone Conspiracy" storyline, wherein a key plot point was that there was necromancy at play in addition to cloning; the actual souls of the originals were being pulled out of the afterlife and installed in these clone bodies. Obviously nothing like that is in play here. It will be interesting especially for a character like Nightcrawler and ESPECIALLY in light of his recent experiences with the afterlife to reflect upon that.

on the cloning issue one interesting question that has been floating around Marvel for around 40 years now is Hate-Monger vs Red Skull.

Hate-Monger is a clone of Adolf Hitler containing the mind of the dictator created by Arnim Zola. These were the exact same process, even noted as such in the Red Skull resurrection story.

Cerebro isn't a machine of "souls". It's memory, pure data.

Furthermore, it doesn't pull the memories immediately before the death of the mutants. Xavier keeps a database of a copy of their memories that is updated once a week. He then uploads those copies to the new bodies when the mutants die.
