He was in all the promotional material, one of the first action figures for the line, they hyped up Dwayne Johnson as the VA
And then they killed him, and it was meant to be a "look! Anything can happen, this show is mature and all bets are off!"
And then the remainder of the show basically played it safe. Not another Autobot died in the shows whole run, and the only time Decepticons died was when the writers got bored of them.

God dammit, is the "Bumblebee only talks in beeps and boops" era finally fucking behind us? They gave him his voice back in the Aligned continuity. They gave him his voice back in the Movie continuity (even if they had to reboot to do it). Can he just fucking talk like normal now and never have to do that stupid R2D2 shit again?

I liked how in flashbacks, Cliffjumper was always awkwardly mute until they finally said "fuck it" and got some rando to voice CJ in flashbacks. They couldn't even pretend like the Rock wasn't just stunt casting anymore.

It's even worse when they can't pick between speaking via radio or beeping like it's mores code

Funny enough there's some deleted footage in Revenge of the Fallen that has Sam explicitly call out Bumblebee having voice problems as him "playing it up". Bumblebee would still get to say Sam's name with his own voice in this scene too.
