How do you fix this show?

>Season 4 has Kuvira as the protagonist, with Korra and the main characters sparsely mentioned save for a rare cameo and acknowledging she's still recovering/in no shape to be the Avatar
>Suyin is an actual villain and is trying to fracture the EK even more to prop up Zaofu
>Finale is her establishing the Earth Empire as a benevolent autocrat
>Korra recovers by the end

Would it have made the show any better?

How the fuck did you make it worse

give it a segaway arc.
>avatar last air bender
>segway across the world
>dragon prince
>segway across the world

I mean, I would've settled for Kuvira actually being shown to be committing the atrocities she was supposedly doing offscreen. Because outside of the spirit cannon and the invasion, the only things I recall her actually *doing* were beating the shit out of some bandits, then sparing them, and Frowning Intensely at some governor or other.

Probably the only truly good point Lily Orchard's had in its entire existence- and yes, I'm just as revolted as you are about that.

Listen buddy I love my not-quite-Hitler-not-quite-Chiang-Kai-Shek (implying anyone who isn't a HoI4 August even knows who that is) dictator waifu as much as the next sperg, but that's a terrible idea.

>Would it have made the show any better?
No.

The problem with season 4 is that they ran out of budget and had to cut stuff, to the point where one episode was a literal clip show.

The overarching problem with Korra is the lack of cohesion/planning. Sure they winged some of ATLA but there was always the central plot of Aang learning the elements and fighting against the Fire Nation. Korra is about a mishmash of things that never really come together. By all rights season 2's finale should have been the end of the show but it's only the halfway point. Korra doesn't have a coherent character arc. The main villains are mostly interesting but always get cut short because they aren't allowed to keep going beyond their dedicated season.

If I were to reinvent the show, I would make the Red Lotus the central antagonists from the beginning and build the whole story around that. Maybe have Korra lose her connections to past Avatars very early on and have her re-establish those connections in later episodes (giving Korra character development and also fleshing out past Avatars and the world overall). Zaheer would be the main leader. Unalaq's involvement with the Red Lotus would be a major twist rather than a retcon. Amon and Kuvira would be recurring subplots. There would be a lot more worldbuilding. Also Sokka would still be alive.

>t. Chiang Kai-Shek's ghost

>How to fix Korra.
Amon is a non-bender who learned to energy bend. His revolution sets up a non-bending state which starts to cause movements in other nations.

>Amon either is legit a charismatic non bender who survives the first season or dies as a martyr, inspiring future conflicts and making season 1 a Pyrrhic victory.
He was so good. Even the North-South war, on paper, was good when they weren't trying to supersaturate the plot with the retarded spirit shit or Varrick's sideplot
The Red Lotus ---- really, season 3 in general --- was the highlight of the show. Having Kuvira, or alternatively Korra, getting their hands bloody to resolve conflicts might have made an interesting contrast to Aang's character.

>By all rights season 2's finale should have been the end of the show but it's only the halfway point.

I wish season 2 didn't happen. The spirits are consistently portrayed as assholes but the writers frame it as if they're good and noble. Similar issue with Suyin in season 4.

Get rid of zoomers.

Opal should die.
Slowly.
Maybe pneumonia.
Something painful would be nice. Won't fix everything, but it would be an improvement.

Make Korra real and also my wife

The easiest way to fix Korra is to commit to doing the opposite of Aang.

>We open to see a young bender getting roughed up by a gang on the edge of republic city.
>His asskicking is interrupted by a Chocolate MILF in obscuring robes rock-punting or fireblasting the gang away.
>Shit happens with him offering to repay her by showing her around the city.
>At the end of the episode, he asks her to teach him some of those sick ass firebending moves. She agrees.
>Turns out after an episode or three she's the Avatar.
Just take the focus off Korra, If you want her to be unlike Yang, make her a teacher who isn't always there rather than the kid who we're following every step of the way as he learns Have episodes focus around her student and his shit, and occasionally veer off to help her with Avatar shit Aang didn't usually have time to do. Calm spirits, or kick spirits asses. Settle disputes, the like.

It'd actually be fucking good that way.

The Koh Theory or even just removing the last minute twist would have made the show better. Koh Theory makes a good link with season 2 as well.

>How do you fix this show?
From the premise. Just do everything differently. It might not be better, but it's literally impossible for it to be worse.

Both of these, but Choco-MILF Teacher Korra sounds promising.

>Next and last avatar is a firebender

Is there gonna be another avatar ?

>How do non-benders fit in society? NOPE AMON IS A BLOOD BENDER.
>How do the spirits fit in the modern world? NOPE DARK AVATAR.
>Aren't these forms of government outdated? BETTER KILL THE AVATAR.
>This society is collapsing... GUESS WE NAZIS NOW! MECHS!

I just wish they actually see the THEME PLAY OUT instead of fucking ruining it. Maybe make non-benders more working class and down and out? Maybe make a compelling villain? Maybe the spirit world is out of balance with the new technology and you have to delve into that and how modernity and spirituality can be brought together. Maybe societies are collapsing and she needs to travel and fix them. Maybe dangerous ideas are on the rise and you have to fight them.

Unfortunately everything was subverted with twists. Character shipping and drama took over the show. A changing world clashing with an ancient one with a strong character unsure of herself and a cast of characters from different parts of society travelling and trying to solve the issues at hand? Would have been great.

The lore episode was also absolutely terrible.

Holy fuck im not God stop asking me all these questions. Jesus Christ man.

You'd have to change far too much to fix this show, but just to start I'd put Kuvira in the first season as one of Lin's subordinates and have be the first member of the Korra Krew. That way when we eventually reach season four the audience is invested in both sides almost by default, of course a bunch of other shit would have to change to accommodate this.

Give Zaheer more monologues.

>Blood bending
>period

>abortion

This is actually exacerbating the problems the season had.

The shouldawoulda game is poisonous but I had a thought for a while.

Do the first season right and spring off what is covered there. Either make Amon the red lotus guy. The concept of Benders and normies being equal would a concept either Aang or an Airbender would support. At the end of the season the guy is unmasked but escapes.

The second season would be a mash of the third season of red lotus trying to get revenge and the crazed spiritualist trying to reenact Flip City.

Third season would then be about the fire nation deciding between the spirit apocalypse and their former colony being a den of gangsters and terrorists they decide to go full imperial and retake the city. There is some fighting, diplomacy, yadda yadda we see the effects Zulu had trying to make the country not full of dicks. And for the love of all Korra would actually be heroic and no pro-commie propaganda messages.

Then there is no forth season. It would die at three, three is all it needs.

Honestly, just tell everyone working on it on day 1 that they'll get 4 seasons, that Mako and Korra don't work out and Korra+Asami is somehow the endgame couple, and that anything involving fighting magic satan is a baaaad idea.

>MECHS

That was the start of the end right there. Even with the horseshit technology of the show it clearly was just because they thought it was cool.

Even if you argued that they needed robot arm and thus would develop it the only reasonable thing would be exosuits on 20ft of power cable to a generator on a rickshaw.

Really it's all because there is this paradigm that benders superior but no one has invented a gun or even repeating crossbows.

Zaheer was so annoying becauseI hated his cause. But he was so intimidating.

fuck off

>it is only a few years after ATLA
>make it about Azula
>keep Korra as her pet

You know, there’s nothing saying a non bender couldn’t learn energy bending. One of the positives about it being such a massive asspull at the end of Avatar is that it’s well due for expansion or explanation in the sequel. But from Korra, all we can really tell about energy bending is that it can be used to grant to take away bending powers. We learn nothing new about it and it’s barely mentioned at all. They clearly wanted us to speculate on it since Amon’s take your bending away stance looks exactly like it, but they just pulled the rug out from under us and brushed energy bending under that same rug like we wouldn’t notice.

It's honestly surprising how many people believe that they did play out the themes. It's actually one of the things LoK is lauded for strangely enough.

The Problem with season 4 was they leaned way too hard into the 'look how mature we are with morally grey villians' crap without thining about what was happening.
When you compare Kuvira who had been solo restoring the earth kingdom while the protagonists jerked it. To the 'good guys' trying to install a puppet monarch you run into the issues.

That's why they had to ass-pull her being earth-stalin off-screen and give her megatron in the last two episodes.

>The spirits are consistently portrayed as assholes but the writers frame it as if they're good and noble. Similar issue with Suyin in season 4.
This right here.
The original showed some spirits were just cunts but now for some reason they are all just misunderstood?

>How do non-benders fit in society
The problem with that is we saw in ATLA and Korra that non-benders fit in society just fine and make up the bulk of the populace with benders holding specialized positions within industry and government. The problem with Amon is that it is framed as a bender vs. non-bender conflict when it's clearly set-up as a economic-based revolutionary movement using benders as a convenient scapegoat. It doesn't matter if Amon was revealed to be given powers by Koh or actually Punished Aang, the entire Equalist conflict was built on shoddy ground.

Shut the fuck up.

>Lily Orchard
That walking contradiction hasnt had a correct opinion in his life.

Kuvira beheads Korra. She did nothing wrong. Make the Earth Kingdom Great Again

>fixing Korra

In not so many words
Season 2 is skipped entirely, never happens. No Rava/Vaatu. Harmonic convergence can still happen to rebalance the world and bring airbending back.

>Season 1
Start with Zaheer. Korra still struggles with airbending, despite airbending being rebalanced and new airbenders coming in. Cut probending entirely; Mako is a cop, Bolin is an actor, Varrick is a business Rival to Asami. Proceed as normal through the original season 3.

>Season 2
Do kuvira here. Kuvira sees how ineffective republic city and the avatar were at dealing with Zaheer; unrest in the water kingdom (you can still do the civil war, just no fucking retarded dark avatar) threatens to destabilize the world, and she can still do her fascist takeover. However actually make her into a villain if you're going to have her be an antagonist, because as it stands Kuvira did nothing wrong. At the end of the season, Kuviras failed coup and the continual problems of super powerful benders threatening the world leads to...

>Season 3
This is where you do Amon. Basically keep his character the same, but have Korra initially agree with the anti bender sentiment as she begins to see how powerful benders can destroy the world if left unchecked, and shes getting weary of fighting. At this point in the, story; having gone through Ozai, Zaheer, and Kuvira, people would actually have a reason to hate benders. You can have Korra question whether it's time for benders and the avatar to end; kind of like what the last Jedi failed horribly to do. In the end though she realizes that amon was just manipulating her too, and she has to defeat him.

I dont know. I didnt hate Korra as much as I expected to, but theres a huge power gap between it and TLA. I'm shocked the same people wrote both.

You being a fag or not hinges on one question.
How thicc my chocolate water tribe mommy?

Why haven’t the porn posts been deleted yet?

Rather than an unrealistic character with literally no reason to declare a world war, Korra struggles with trauma the entire season and doesn't have to deal with the world having fallen out of balance because of her, due to spirits not being idiots.

>Amon is actually some sort of spirit bender and has the ability to actually remove bending from people
>Is somehow related to Koh/evil avatar spirit.
>all three seasons are trying to stop him from removing bending entirely.
