Why the fuck do they have electricity
Barely 3 minutes in and already the lead character's dialogue makes me want to give this a hard pass.
But I'll at least give it a chance to try and win me over...no promises.
I'm only giving it a try because the voice cast seems promising.
Why wouldn't they?
Why would they?
School gym uniforms provided by Hooters.
Anyone got a mega?
>Underground wires
>Automated generators
Why wouldn't they?
If they get their electricity from hoover dam then it'll produce energy automatically for a while.
The books are better.
Because there are no adults and the apocalypse is here?
Animation has room to improve, that'd be the issue that bothers me the most. Overall seems a bit generic but I hope the upcoming series gets better.
So they released it as full hour long episodes? That's odd
So far I'm half through and the bully is best character and the main kid is a huge loser
No, they just wanted to get the first book out of the way early. The other books are 10 episodes each, plus they have an interactive special.
>interactive special
That could go either really great or really awful.
Yeah, it's at www.netflix.com/stopbeingpoor/
It’s not bad honestly. The animation is actually pretty decent. They just need to decide on a tone for the writing. I feel like they wanted to do something more adult, but ended up having someone tell them they needed to make it more like PBS Kids.
They seem to be improving on how they do them since the Puss in Boots one. Apparently, you can cause the main characters to die in some of the endings.
I'm not familiar with the source material, but this isn't like Walking Dead where they're stretching a single issue into an hour-long pilot, it was a whole novel. We'll see how the full seasons play out.
Yeah, some of the later ones are real nice, much better than the linear ones they came out with at first like these.
Did they ever make a map for some of the later ones, like Stretch Armstrong or Black Mirror?
Aside from Book 1/the movie, each book is a season, 10 episodes each. They just did the special first to get the introductions out of the way fast and get to the good stuff.
It was very kiddish, but I guess that was expected.
The tone was very inconsistent, with them throwing in a half-assed emotional bit every now and then. Dirk was the only decent character, while Quint was just okay. The MC wasn't very endearing, and the female character was the worst kind of female character. Hopefully past this character introduction arc, the writing will improve as things were done pretty sloppy so far. At least the boys were in swim-shorts for some seconds.
I agree user, it shows potential but currently it is a 6-7/10
Also, which you prefer: Dirk/Jack, Jack/Quint or Dirk/Quint?
Can you post the swim shorts boys?
This thread can’t die without seeing the swimsuits
Or without some sort of lewd commision.
>the female character was the worst kind of female character
The writer also wrote this character so it's no surprise
It's Quint/Dirk.
Then shortly followed by Quint getting spitroasted by Dirk and Jack, followed by the obvious "canon" shippings.
Bruh who the thought these lines were ok ? This aint 2000s no more
You know, looking for the art the show have the same aura, of course, the books clearly have a tone more mystic

>Keith David is voicing Thrull
>Mark Hamill is voicing Bartle
>Catherine O'Hara is voicing Skalka
Do any book readers know who those characters are? Are they monsters or humans or anything?
>Keith David is voicing Thrull
Look here
>>Catherine O'Hara is voicing Skalka
Probably this new character

Actually. animation is the only thing Netflix is actually good at
i watch alot of shit but even i wouldnt touch this.
I actually haven't seen that phrase in a while. They usually got spammed in The Dragon Prince threads.
My Netflix account is basic, so I could only get SD, but here it is: mega.nz
Hilda
Harvey Street Kids
Dragon Prince
Carmen Sandiego
Trollhunters (at least the first season)
Dark Crystal (yes, also an animation of sorts)
Though to be fair, I wouldn't call them masterpieces, but compared to what CN/NIck/Disney output has been reduced to - yeah, they're great
>Hair smells like vanilla
IMAGINE.
>end of the world
>3 guys 1 girl
They gonna be making this bitch airtight.
Quint and Dirk are alright, but Jack is so annoying and June is pretty much a walking stereotype that got old even in the 2000s.
I do like the Wright-esque quick cuts, but I hope they are not too frequent. It's something that could get old fast.
Nice tomboy, but the animation style doesn't do it for me.
An user said that two of those guys are gay in the book. Repopulation was never an option...
Source or fuck off.
She stronk.
Thank you
Apparently they are humanoid monsters that get introduced in latter books
Oi, thanks user.
Still waiting on the swimsuits.
Thanks for the link but man was that a piece of shit.
Literally Fortnite-tier escapist power fantasy trash. Clearly it's not a documentary on how to survive in a SHTF world but it could try to be more self aware. Or more cartoony, if that's where they wanted to go with it.
The show just doesn't know what it wants to be and it's needlessly long-winded. Fuck-all happens in this special and the pacing would've been better with self-contained episodes anyway, pic probably related. Also, the character archetypes are as annoying as they are dated. What were they thinking?
They actually look cute together holy shit
Wow this actually looks nice apart from the weird tan, is this the only time their shirts are off?
What surprised me is how these kids never wear seat belts and cartoons usually include that. Netflix doesn't have an S&P department and that's what they chose to be edgy about of all things?
In a SHTF scenario, I doubt these kids would bother wearing proper safety equipment
I actually like that they included the tan lines. It’s a detail most cartoons wouldn’t care about.
They're not always in danger or in a hurry though and Jack sure drives like a maniac. If cartoon physics didn't kick in here they'd get more than just free hot dogs. And he still fucking eats it while driving...
>If cartoon physics didn't kick in here they'd get more than just free hot dogs.
Wow, that sounds more gay that it should have.
I’m pretty that guy was fucking with you all.
We're talking different physics, huh?
>Both get launched through the windshield as they crash
>Land face-first in each other's junk
>Just like in my Chinese cartoons
Besides, including homosexuality in cartoons for pre-teens would be a career suicide for the author
>and the female character was the worst kind of female character.
I actually like how the MC has this perfect vision of her, but the flashbacks let the viewer know she was a head strong tomboy. Or a bitch, as my sister would put it.
The main guy would be so much cuter with smaller nose
He sure got me. He said that it's the nerd and the bully who become a couple. I'm not even a shipper and I still couldn't help but keep noticing the chemistry between the two as shown in
Oh yeah, the bully got it hard for the nerd.
Hehe hard, get it?
All of the boys have good chemistry so far, the June seems to have a better relationship with Jack than with the other two guys. However the books seem to hint they all develop a great connection
>Dat picture on the wall
Honestly I think that him warning her before she entered the school was enough of the"save the princess" for her. I think she did develop a small crush, like really small on him. Also just my head canon but I think she found a camera from the school newspaper and developed the film out of boredom but when she saw a photo of him actually hung it up like a poster and made a little story in her head about putting it in the school newspaper.
So is this good or not?
It's okay.
The story feels more like an excuse to set up the characters and the setting. The monster have good designs, zombies are non threatening slow. Weapons are very kiddish in nature like home alone 3, but can be actually dangerous like home alone 1. The big bad monster is where the story gets good.
They did.
I watched 30 seconds and I already hate it
The MC voice is pretty annoying. But he is the MC, so yeah he's not going away.
what was hat one comic with the immortal kids in a post-apocalyptic?
Alone?
Also consider this: All of them have to change clothes together in the treehouse
>cartoon
>changing clothes
Anyone wanna do any Webm of Rover licking the main kid?
The whole concept of the tree house is dumb. Right before the credits the girl mentions all the houses are empty. If they wanted they each can have a house right next to each other.
>Putting your life in risk living in a house that could be either invaded, raided, or destroyed quickly.
Dude, please.
LEWD FANART OF THE BOYS (or of anything) WHEN?!?!?
The treehouse is actually easier to defend from zombies. You can easily block them from reaching the entrance. As for the kaiju-like monsters, well that’s plot armor for sure.
What's wrong with the girl? Don't wanna watch it, but I'm curious
Well I liked her but
MC has a crush on a girl. Literally wants to "save the princess" She's a head strong sports and apparently journalist. She actually doesn't show up until the end. She's also very loud.
The bitchy, tomboy, "better than the boys" type.
But she mellowed out after the MC convinced her to join them.
For a "I'm nobody damsel in distress" girl she sure needs a lot of rescuing.
Is she like this in the books?
If I remember, not really.
But she still gets better
When?
cute
The school and then the tree house
Is the main kid voiced by brother of famous actor and singer Finn Wolfhard?
It SEEMS REALLY CLICHE.
YOU ARE REALLY CLICHÉ
>dorky jewish boy MC
>bully with a heart of gold
>nerdy black best friend
>”girls can kick butt too!” love interest crush
it pulled out all the stops
>one is on this show
>the other is on Carmen Sandiego
Are there any more Wolfhard siblings we should know about?
Were they like this in the novel too?
Isn’t Finn the one in Carmen Sandiego?
Yes.
no one is asking the important questions like when does Dirk fuck Quint?
Right after he fucks Jack in the missionary position
Jack is Rovers and Rovers alone you fool.
Anyone has MEGA in HD?
Jack is the bicycle of the group, you double fool.
Fanart of him being everyone's bitch when?
Rover has him most often due to Jack constantly smelling like pine car fresherner
Hopefully sooner.
Why are there so many fags on this board?
It's simple.THE THIRST IS REAL, MAGGLE.
Huh, so Netflix still has to do stuff like that? Odd, but understandable, don't want all the soccer moms getting mad at you for a simple mistake.
Your obsession with this shit is bizarre.
The male to female character ratio in a show dictates these kinds of things.
This is giving me a "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" / signal player Fart Night vibe..
Gonna give it two more episodes to see if I'm willing to go all the way.
>Calling she's going Lez since she;s a Tom-Boy.
Why does the bara just want the girl.
