Hate it, just from the poster alone. Reeks of pretentious indie trash. Kill yourself.

No u

>All animated movies have the same generic look REEEEEE

well, you are not very far from truth.
I never get the whole "morale" of this cartoon. "Cops and government are bad, drug sellers are actually good people".

Yeah, it's pretty bad. It's not animated very well and the moral? message? statement? it's trying to put out is not delivered well. The story is boring and poorly executed.

Although I don't know the guy, the movie he made reeks of pretentiousness.

Calling shit pretentious is pretentious. It's an empty criticism that's only meaningful to the critic because they overvalue their own opinions.

The cops weren't exactly "bad". They were just doing their jobs.

>Calling shit pretentious is pretentious.
Well, then I find this (and your comment, as well as this thread) totally unpretentious.
[Resisting urge to add smiley face.]

I enjoyed the short and the movie, although I couldn't tell you what the message was beyond the surface level symbolism.

Tell us more.

The cops were always showed more ignorant than outright sadistic as I remember, at least one of them.
Birdboys drug use is absolutely not glorified, its showed as destructive to both himself and the people around him.
Honestly my favourite parts of the movie were the mice garbage island. Great aesthetic and interesting cult. That mantra is stuck in my head 'In the garbage we seek our future'. The scene of the two fathers and sons fighting over trash, one from each family dying and the survivors just picking up wahts left and moving on together was just a lovely feel of idunno, I guess nihilism but also a sick sort of hope and bonding

good shit

Damn straight.

It's 2019 user. Cops are bad if they prevent you from doing whatever you want

well who knows what year it was in the movie

Post apocalyptic date.

The older cop had a big grudge against Birdboy's dad which carried over to his son. The younger cop seemed less evil, but had to follow his orders.

What did you expect?

You sure told him.

Wait, this is Spanish? I never knew my country did this.

Just like the graphic novel it adapted.

Supongo que tendré que verlo/leerlo.

Buena suerte con econtrar un torrent o stream.

The movie is a loose adaptation. Don't miss out on one for the other. They are both worth trying out.

It made me feel things

Loose adaptations are fantastic for that very reason; they give you more to enjoy than they take away.

What things?

emptiness and hope

Hope for what?

You are the reason we get Disney live action remakes.

We are the forgotten children! We don’t have fathers or mothers. In the filth we seek our future. The future has passed, the present is filth, blood is our law!

You just don’t understand him, Birdboy has a demon inside.

The only thing that scares me is the thought of being stuck on this island.

>You don’t understand.
>Birdboy is possessed by a demon, a demon that gnaws at him from within, like a parasite that needs a drug to stay calm.
>But I know he has a good heart.

So was Birdboy basically supposed to represent nuclear power?

Just watched it, kinda mediocre, honestly, It didn't introduced the fantasy world I don't know what's the motivations of birdboy besides, he wants to be free from the island. It feels incomplete.

The animation is garbo, it feels like a cheap toddler's show and not in a good way.

I'll check it out, maybe it works the story better.
