How does that make a movie better or more essential?
Sword in the Stone
All memes aside, Shrek. It's a fantastic film that took a lot of chances that paid off in spades. Compelling story, great characters, funny jokes, fun setting, and fantastic animation and art direction. Voice acting is top-tier, too. It's really well put-together on all fronts.
Pachamama.
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Coraline
Twice Upon a Time. Try to get the alternate cut.
Good fucking luck.
Rango
How would a Daffy/Donald crossover work anyway?
I think this is it

I got it from Amazon a few years ago and it looked like this version.
megamind
the incredibles(first one)
shrek 2 is transendent.
i know it would end with bugs and mickey casually invalidating everything they did at the end without even noticing
A Goofy Movie and its sequel
No one gave it much mind, thinking it was just going to be a cash-grab for the Goof Troop tv show, but it's an amazing movie. Top-notch animation & voice acting, and an absolutely iconic 90's soundtrack
And it introduced many Yea Forumsmrades to their first tingly feelings

A personal list:
Gulliver's Travels (1939)
Rarg (a short film, but still)
Rock & Rule
The Wind in the Willows (1995)
The Iron Giant
The Land Before Time
Heavy Metal (it's a much better film if you don't think of the comics)
Gulliver is good, I forgot about that one
Heavy Metal is cool
haven't seen Rock&Rule but I liked Wizards and appreciated what he was doing with American Pop
fuck yeah, NIMH
Lilo and Stitch is the best movie ever made bar none.
Fantasia is a must watch
All of cartoon saloon's films are good
Disney films like The Great Mouse Detective, Atlantis, Mulan, Treasure Planet, etc.
Bluth films like Secret of Nimh
Some more innovative modern films like Spiderverse (because this not related to comic rule is dumb), or peanuts
More adult films like Felidae
Obscure stuff like Nocturna or Mune
Let's get some diversity in here:
Feherlofia
Yellow Submarine
The Last Unicorn
Mary and Max
It's such a beautiful day

>literally everything I was going to recommend has been mentioned ITT
Excellent showing, lads.
>and fantastic animation and art direction.
The colors are very dull and drab.
Would recommend Watership Down (1978).
Another one I would recommend is The Mouse and His Child (1977), but that's unfortunately only available on VHSrips. Not nearly as good as the book, but still criminally underrated and notable for having one of the most shocking scenes in any animated film aimed at children.
>one of the most shocking scenes in any animated film aimed at children.
Which one?
The Son of the White Mare
Rock and Rule
When you see the dogs balls for like two frames
The release of Shrek and its consequenceshas been a disaster for western animation as a whole.

Them being toys doesn't change how he's beating a child to death with a rock. This scene wasn't in the book either.
>even the rat is horrified by the sight of what he's done
