Was just in another thread where I recommended this issue and didn’t want to jam the thread with a storytime.

This type of Joker is so great. He's scary and you feel he's dangerous without the need to have him murder a dozen people in the span of five pages.
September 17, 2019 - 10:39
Yeah, the mind games from this version are fantastic and he didn’t really even have to do anything

With Tomasi’s Current Tec Run and Russell’s Riddler one shot I really want those two to be the architects for Batman Going forward both have a good mix of Camp and seriousness that work well with Bats

I know it’s not from Detective comics, but I needed a short story to keep the thread alive and that was the one I had on hand that fit

Detective Riddler was the best character development ever, really hoping that the YotV one shot leads into him becoming A Detective again

It’s pretty great although I feel he was very underutilized while he was a good guy

You have this story, another one in Tec (by Dini), and Gotham Sirens #3 (written by Scott Lobdell) are the cream of the Detective Riddler crop.
Then Tony Daniels decides he wants Riddler evil again, has him sustain another head injury, with it being a long-running plot Dini himself has to use in Sirens.
Until finally at the end of his Batman run, Daniels has Eddie full-villain again (acting all Joker-like) with Riddler's Daughter as his lackey.
It ends with Eddie out of his mind deciding to kill the Riddler's Daughter.

If this thread is a live or not, I think I'll storytime one of my favorite stories that also involves the Riddler and introduces King Tut from Batman Confidential.
