I swear I had written something in that last post. Anyway, that's all for today! Tomorrow's the last two issues of Flight, then comes book two: WOMEN.
Isaiah Cook
Thanks, OP.
Dominic Collins
How can it be a perfect duplicate if it's smaller?
Parker Murphy
Bump.
Ethan Kelly
Thanks again, OP. I'd forgotten exactly how explosive Flight was, especially after the previous two somber arcs. These issues were packed and there's too much to go through. I will say that I don't really like the direction taken with the Judge, it makes the ending of Church and State feel cheaper.

>there are people who think you shouldn't read Cerebus past Church & State This is so good man
Camden Fisher
Nobody ever said that you should stop with Church & State. Nobody. That would mean missing out on Jaka's Story.
Christian Bailey
>Nobody ever said that you should stop with Church & State. Nobody I've seen plenty of people say that, you can't just pretend they don't exist.
Nathaniel White
I've definitely seen posts on Yea Forums recommending people start with High Society and end with Church and State. Truly insane.
Adam Nelson
I'm going to pull a Dave Sim, and assert that those people were actually figments of my Aardvarkian imagination, given temporary existence thanks to my Aardvarkian magics.
I'm afraid you'll have to disappear too though.
Charles Hughes
And this is why nobody gives a fuck about this shitty comic. Only insane people and misogynist alt-righters read it.
Ethan Phillips
The thing about Church and State is that it has a definite and very well done conclusion, you can stop reading and leave with a great experience right there. Continuing means devoting yourself to the rest of the main plot which ends at 200 and is just...not as good an ending as C&S to say the least. Mothers and Daughters is a mixed bag, mostly because of Reads, the third section of the arc. Flights and Women are still very, very good, and the parts of Reads and Minds that are actually comic are also, for the most part, very good. But the parts that aren't good could sour what you experienced from the previous issues. I agree that overall M&D is worth the read, but people should know that the weirdness starts here. On the other hand, everyone should start with the first volume. I know a ton of people recommend to start with High Society since that's where Cerebus starts to shine but then things like the Connipton's return at the end of HS and Necross' surprise comeback as the Pope won't have nearly the amount of impact they did knowing in advance who they are. >IP count didn't increase >All other comments are praise Hmmm...
Parker Myers
Woah
Elijah Nelson
Minds is amazing and there's nothing anyone can point to in Church & State that rivals it in quality. Also Guys is overall my favorite volume of Cerebus. The whole Going Home arc in books 13 and 14 is really comfy and interesting and I feel I'm much more likely to reread the material after issue 200 than the earlier books. I'm probably the only person in the world who feels this.
Jason Thomas
Fuuuck, THATS who that guy is? Totally forgot about the cult city. I didnt recognize roach with his glasses on earlier either.
Shit feels like it’s hitting the fan about as hard as the end of church and state, but this time its totally unexpected. Did NOT expect Cerebus fighting the Cirinists to reach this scale.
This is so fucking cool. Im only this far in but I’m fucking loving this. Might be my favorite part yet.
John Anderson
If you had a tiny little clone of Cerebus would you torture it?
Matthew Brown
I like Guys a lot just because I thought it was really funny, I love those bits where Cerebus mind splits and talks to itself.
Juan Hernandez
>The one ho captured this penis of a town for you
For some reason that always makes me laugh.
Isaiah Taylor
This is the best the comic has gotten so far imo. What a wild ride.
Just all around fantastic. What a rush compared to the last two arcs, too.
Nicholas Gutierrez
HOW CAN IT BE A CLONE IF IT'S SMALL!!!
Hunter Carter
Always wondered what her significance is. Only other people who see mini Cerebus are important characters, Beth is a literally who and never gets explained. Unless she's supposed to be the model in the Victor Read stories.
When does Dave go nuts? Because I'm up to 265 and so far most of what he's saying I've already seen a thousand times on /pol/ before, hardly anything I would classify as insane.
Alexander Wood
The moment he claimed that a matriarchy would be violent and oppressive. All negative traits are inherently masculine, so life under Cirinist rule would be objectively better than any patriarchy. Sim is a lunatic and evil for claiming otherwise. He deserves to die and to be shunned and his comic should be burned and enver read by anyone because he's evil and a white man
Samuel Powell
You do realize /pol/ is insane right
Christopher Gonzalez
She's based on an old flame of Sim's from before he got married so, yes.
Angel Bennett
When people say someone goes nuts I usually expect incoherent ramblings with no logical connections but so far that's not what I've been reading. Maybe he does in the 30 something issues I've yet to read but that's only 1/10th of the comic at best, which would hardly warrant discounting the entire comic like I've seen people do in previous Cerebus threads.
Aaron Torres
Oh no, Sim is a smart guy so there's always a logic to his beliefs. His bible study was actually interesting because the things he noticed while reading it (two different words for god being used, indicating two separate entities) were completely legit, and he kind of arrived in a conclusion reminiscent of the Platonic/Gnostic concept of the demiurge seen through his lens of male-female relationships. A lot of people give the Chasing YWHW chapters shit but I actually enjoyed it, and moreover it led to the absolutely beautiful re-imagining of the Genesis creation account in the first issues of The Last Day that, despite being an atheist, I appreciate a great deal. Dave's not a bad guy, guys.
Kevin Miller
>discounting the entire comic like I've seen people do in previous Cerebus threads. Pretty sure that here those are mostly shitposts. But I have seen those kind of posts in other places and I do think it's a shame that people will overlook all the exceptional parts, even the ones with over feminist themes, just because of a few weird but harmless rants.
Isaiah Watson
Most people who have heard of Cerebus know about it as "that comic you're not supposed to read because misogyny" and they leave it at that. This applies to Yea Forums as well, otherwise there's be more people in these threads.
Gabriel Garcia
I was surprised by this too. He definitely has a coherent outlook on life that he can articulate very well. It's not one I agree with, but it's far from what I would characterize as the ramblings of a schizo. He comes across as more of an asshole than a crazy person.
