Personally, I liked it. The whole crew was relatively funny, especially for season five, and patchy was hilarious the whole episode.
Didn't like the musical aspect though

No and the game was even worse
Also I am very skeptical of the Battle for Bikini Bottom reboot it looks a little too...heavy
Like its running off on Truth or Square's engine
It gets too much autistic hate. Spongebob was literally never about grand adventures and epically saving the day, only the movie ever did that. That being said, it was still a letdown. Most Atlantis designs were bland and uninspired, the characters just spend most of the episode fucking around and singing about how they were GOING to do something, and a lot of the songs themselves were garbage.
no and that brain-exposed tick is hideous
>Musical special
>David Bowie is present
>David Bowie does not sing
No OP, it was not.
>anything past the first movie being good
No, it wasn't good.
It suuuuuuuuuuuucked.
The world is not black-and-white. A lot of the same writers still stayed after the first movie. You have to be a retard to think the show just instantly went to shit with S04E01.
He was very sick
He still made Blackstar
not everything past the movie was trash. some episodes were ok and actually had some quotable moments
In 2007?
Speaking rates are different from singing rates, especially for someone of Bowie's caliber.
Besides 'Gary Come Home' and 'Night of the Living Krabby Patty' (which was supposed to be a Season 3 episode), what memorable moments does Season 4 have? I'm being generous with Gary Come Home, but everyone knows the song. The episode is total trash.
>Night of the Living Krabby Patty (which was supposed to be a Season 3 episode)
Where'd you hear that from?
Krusty Towers
Selling Out
Chimps Ahoy
Patrick SmartPants
Dunces and Dragons
Wishing You Well
I remember all of these being pretty funny or at least faithful to the characters' essentials
What the hell are those Atlantians supposed to be?
Blue Meanies(?)
I barely remember anything from this special besides the musical numbers and the David Bowie character.
I saw this episode in two parts 10 years ago, for the second part I had to wait like 2 weeks because my Polish version of Nickelodeon's schedule was a mess.
Nope, all trash
Then he literally died lmao
No. This was where, as a 10 year old, I decided that new episodes of Spongebob sucked. I never noticed the seasons getting too much worse until this special. It’s really the example I can best think of when someone says that old Spongebob is only fondly remembered because of nostalgia. No, I was a kid when this came out, and could tell the difference in quality.
The musical number with Plankton acquiring a tank was pretty funny though. Besides that, David Bowie was the only saving grace for this episode.
I think I decided that when there's was an incredibly slow paced "joke" where Spongebob was just standing around repeating what Squidward/Mr. Krabs said back them.
Krusty Towers was the last even mildly watchable episode of Spongebob. Not even worth rewatching like the S1-3 episode, just not yet bad enough to snap you out of the trance of watching.
"Welcome to The Krusty Towers, where our motto is: 'Fuck You'"
pretty sure he means Fear of a Krabby Patty which actually doesn't have an internal production code in the 100s-200s on BCDB which it would have if it actually were in Season 3 (it has a 400s internal production code meaning it was written in Season 4)
>Besides that, David Bowie was the only saving grace for this episode.
This.
How did they talk him into it?
No, in fact I think this was dropping point for the series.
It's built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4
For me, it was when season 4 started and I thought the episodes felt a little lamer. Well, I thought the first couple were decent, but from Skill Crane onwards all I could think was "that's it?" Like, episodes felt empty to me or something. Something just felt off. Then the episodes just got disgusting, like SquidBob TentaclePants or The Gift of Gum, which put me off even more. I gave up completely when Season 5 rolled around.
what is it with the slow ass pacing in S5-S8 anyway?
Dull and a waste of a fun premise.
Fear of a Krabby Patty is among the series best.
Let's hear what was wrong with it.
It wasn't that funny, the pacing was glacial, and the songs were not pleasant.
His daughter probably liked the show
then don't get Bowie
