>living in the future
>close to terry's age
>literally nothing cool in tech lately
fucking shit
We’re actually still in the past in the Batman Beyond verse. Batman retired in 2019, and the rest of the series takes place twenty years later

Very schway fp my man.

What did Melanie "street" Walker mean by this
she likes Terry
Bruce ain't fuckin around anymore.
Fuck that bitch.
The best ship of the series. Should've went with Melanie.
A man of taste, I see.
This show had so many cute girls, fucking hell I loved it more than regular Batman as a kid
>Dana
>Melanie
>Inque
>The Dee Dee twins
Mmm
It's the Shane Glines touch.
What drew her to him?
Batman beyond game made by the ones who made arkham asylum&city when?
He is a Chad.
They initially bonded over a mutual hatred for their after-school work, her being a member of the Royal Flush gang and Terry being Batman. Of course, neither of them knew that about each other, but they felt a kinship
So are there any villains in Terry’s rogues not a Spider-Man ripoff or returning Bruce rogues?
The show is Batman Beyond.
Terry is The Tomorrow Knight.
NOT MENTIONING MAX. CMON MAN.
I kind of meant the very moment she saw him having a fight with Dana, but yeah. That as well.
If the Joker movie ends up being a success, what is the chance DC will consider making an adult rated Batman Beyond movie?
Zero.
I wish we got a Justice League cartoon with Terry in his late 30s.
reminder that these two fucked.
And I'm so fucking jealous of this fucking man
Did they?
I recall there being a sex joke between them. That was it.
It was the "I helped you, so give me what I want." (Or something like that) then she says "Here? Now?" kind of joke.
Except it was just the mutagen he wanted.
Favourite villain?
The sound guy
Didn’t a bunch of hacks try that but instead of 40-50 years it was barely 10, and instead of Terry they tried to shove Damian down people’s throats?
Nil, DC are hacks and WB are allergic to risky (yet insanely demandes) departures from the familiar
What are the Spider-Man rogues? I honestly only know Green Goblin, Doc Oc, Venom, Carnage, and Rhino guy.
How are Blight, Inque, or Shriek Spider-Man ripoffs? (Not to mention, Spellbinder and the Royal Flush Gang aren’t exactly A-list Batman villains, bringing them back isn’t too annoying to me)
Honestly it was just cause I forgot her name
the stalker
And your episode idea is...?
A “Sons of Batman”-type gang emerges to battle the Jokerz. Terry initially accepts their help, but as they become more ruthless (as in the comic) he rejects their philosophy and they turn on him. It ends with him fighting the gang in their hideout before uncovering a final boss seeking to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld, who planned to leverage Batman’s good name to take out rival gangs under the guise of doing good
So are you just starting random threads with "_____ thread" to try to drown out the SU spam?
No, it’s cause I don’t wanna limit discussion. If I made this about a specific Batman Beyond aspect or episode people would just talk about that. I made a peanuts thread last Wednesday that lasted a long time and had a ton of interesting discussion
I don’t use Yea Forums enough to care about SU spam. I’m usually on other boards
Okay because there's been a lot of threads in the last couple of days that are just "x thread"
No they didn't.
Also she is a bitch and loves no one.
I don't see the problem with that.
I've enjoyed myself here so far.
A story were Terry gets trapped after in a cave after an avalanche. Constant flashbacks to his training with Bruce, how harsh he was and how it actually saves his life. His family and Bruce run into each other on the mountain to look for him. Old Bruce reassures the family (and perhaps Dana?) that everything will be alright.
Something like that.
Radioactive sandwich eating man.
>gang leader has a collection of scavenged bat devices he got since he was a kid
Which one of you is going to rip the blu ray when it comes out?
didn't he end all fucked up after that?
Not me, I'll just buy and watch it.
I understand part of the point was Terry wasn't supposed to be Bruce, but I still wish he slept around a bit more.
Yeah
>It's a twisted version of Bruce's love for the Grey Ghost, the one who helped inspire him to become Batman.
If only warner was allowed to use el zorro
>no gen z zorro + batman beyond
why even live at this point...
>adam west came
f-fuck
If you were Bruce, what would you have done when you found out were too old to be Batman?
Be very upset.
Make an rc robot and control it from comfy bat-cave while eating my tapioca pudding
Bruce's biggest lesson to Terry was "don't put your dick in crazy". Imagine how fucked Bruce would've been if he had actually married Selena Kyle.
Was DCAU Selina that crazy?
what was his name again?
Selena's kleptomania was so bad that she kept getting arrested over the pettiest stuff. It's heavily implied in the short "Chase Me" that Bruce was waiting for Selena to arrive as his date to a small party, only for her to be stealing from a safe in the same building just upstairs.
He'd given her a chance to redeem herself time and time again, and she blew it repeatedly. While we know, thanks to the comics, that Melanie would've gone straight and stayed straight if Terry had been in her life, it shouldn't be Terry's responsibility to make a good woman out of her. Melanie needed to find someone else AFTER she had become a good person.
If Amanda Waller was so obsessed with Batman staying around, why didn't she convince Bruce to take superhuman gene therapy to heal his heart and keep him in his physical peak? Instead of injecting Bruce semen into some poor guy, and fuck up assassinating him and his wife because you had to hire the one assassin who objected to killing innocent people instead of somebody like Deadshot.
Right now I consider Batman to be boring as fuck. The most interesting thing about him is actually his allies, the other robins. Tbh they should just retired him at this point and focus on Terry as the main Batman, or at least make another Batman Beyond game or tv show about Terry.
Because the original plot was going to be Selena Kyle hijacking CADMUS tech to create a Boys of Brazil event to create a new Batman, which would've been even more batshit (heh) insane idea than what we have now. All of the ideas trying to make Bruce Terry's biological father / clone are absolutely insane.
I would've liked it more if Terry's natural athleticism and much more ambiguous moral character came from him being Selena's son from a different man, whom she first tried to use as leverage to get Bruce to marry her, but when he wouldn't take the bait she put the kid up for adoption, and he would later be adopted by his parents.
Wait...was he supposed to look like Joe Rogan?
Because Bruce Timm clearly has a cuck fetish. See: Zod cucking Jor el's sperm
>get one heart attack
>don't ask Mr. Terrific to make you a super-pacemaker
you could argue that Inque is a female sandman
i'll give it to the writers, they came up with some great villians. The guy who was buried alive and the technopathic incel were fucking amazing
Has there been a villain design as cool and also more stupid and impractical than CHAINSAW KNEES?
>REMEMBER
>THERE MIGHT BE SOME MOMENTARY DISCOMFORT
ITT: Line reads that are burned into your mind forever.
>BLOW IT ALL UP
I loved the slapper episode. I liked the way Banes fate, and the ending shows such a contrast between Bruce and Terry
Mask of Zorro is the closest we'll get to a batman beyond movie.
So how much truth is there on the comics completely destroying pretty much all the good that the show brought? All I know is they made Inque a no-fun, no doing-it-for-the-sake-of-doing-it, tragic-backstory "villain in the comics.
>have chainsaw knees
>always jump knees forward
>always miss, get jammed in a wall and fail miserably
best power
I never read them, but it’s probably true. I’ve never read a good comic based on a show
Found the version of the complete series with the artbook for $15 at a thrift store a while back. I only ever saw Return of the Joker as a kid. Will the Blu-ray have any new extras?
Also why did they just stop using Blight alltogether?
Really wish that the Splicing guy came back with better control of his powers. Also I wanted to see the subject of body modifications explore more than just the one offs with that guy or when the Jack O’ Lantern guy.
What about the Batman Beyond movie?
Batman Beyond really had a ton of possibilities that could have been explored further. By that, I don’t mean it’s at all an unsatisfying show to watch. Rather, I actually mean it could have gone on for 5-6 more seasons without getting stale
Terry let's people die, if he thinks they deserve it. Pretty sure he's kicked someone to their death too.
Someone post the casualty list.
as much as i’d like a live action faithful batman beyond movie to finally bring terry to the spotlight, i just can’t trust dc to make good movies that aren’t animated
Not even their animated movies are good these days.
The Simpsons had good comics.
I know every line of his fight with the joker by heart.
Has the Joker EVER been destroyed so thoroughly before in Cartoons?
god she was so perfect.
>MIBeyond
I'd watch it.
Based
>Dropped industrial rollers on the lab techs making drugs.
>They weren't even armed
Man why didn't they keep him around?
Collateral damage, guilt by association.
God I wish that were me
Bump
Schway city mah man!
Inque, Shriek, and Spellbinder are great villains who are stuck in the future. I wish they'd retcon Beyond and just re-introduce them into Batman's present timeline.
I'm getting tired of the same rouges getting into each series and no love toward them.
>Season 1
Kino
>Season 2
Fun but flawed
>Season 3
Shit
>Return of the Joker
Fun but flawed
>Crossover episodes in Justice League Unlimited
Kino
Why was this show so inconsistent.
Ehh, I can forgive it. All shows nowadays have inconsistencies. I mean just look at Star Vs. and Steven Universe.
would you?
So we currently live in the year of red suit batman?
Yeah
Ask Superman for some kryptonian tech, reverse engineer it, make a Bat-A.I., Die the moment it basically becomes The Punisher.
RIP Nelson's mega blocks car
Sorry, Ra's is a big turn off for me.
I thought they were all kino
> Never tapping dat ass
But he does. Probably.
youtube.com
It is implied that he did.
Because Bruce shunned everyone from his life after Joker's death and Tim's brainwash, in fear of the same shit that happened to tim repeat with Everyone else.
Even Diana tried to help him but it was useless, since she went back to the Amazons.
Thoughts on the zeta project? I thought it was a fun little break from beyond. Although i'd like to know how zeta grew a fucking head.
Did Bruce shove a cane up that guy's ass?
Underrated episode. Based.
Beg Nightwing to come back to Gotham.
Or get a cloned body.
I never actually saw it, despite loving BB as a kid. Is it worth watching now?
I heard they replaced Terry with Tim Drake or some stupid shit
youtube.com
Probably the best fight in the whole series desu.
Mad Stan

Batman Beyond shat on furries before it was cool
>Bruce joins the fight
>They used his OG theme from TAS
Based
either an episode or in a new game, I had an idea of various jokerz members inspired by movie jokers trying to take over gotham and battling each other. We'd have dumb thug with tats like leto, an insane anarchist like Heath's Joker who wishes to continue the original Joker's idealogy but doesn't use the joker gas or other wacky gadgets, and a goofy nutball like Ceasar Romero's Joker.
You are unfamiliar with the coin of bits?
I usually a) think shows are better off with mostly stand-alone episodes b) don't care for reboots, but I think a reboot of BB for today's more serialized era would really work.
After the first season the show probably suffered from having too many nothing-changes-anything episodes, which limited the attention they could pay to the underlying mysteries/mythology (some of which got paid off in the Return of the Joker movie though).
>DETECTIVE.
People have shat on furries long before that.
>What DO you call yourself in your head?
Find the Lazaurus Pit Riddler used in Gotham
Didn't he throw some of Talia's goons into a croc pit? I think he crushed a few guys in one of the Meltdown episodes too
Sounds like it could be good
Surprised the comics didn't do something like this
I saw an idea in a thread a couple days ago I liked, that Terry was Bruce's GRANDSON, through his mother, Bruce's daughter that ran away because she wanted a normal life instead of being drafted into Bruce's crusade.
Old Chum
What made this year the year Batman wanted to retire?
He got so slow he actually considered pulling a gun on someone. That or Selena broke his pelvis trying to do some crazy cat themed sex move.
Knex are better tho
Well technically he pulled a gun on him because he was being beat to the point of cardiac arrest, and that was the closest weapon he could grab
I don't think even by Batman in the comics. The only time that comes close is when Superman BTFOs him.
Couldn't he just jump into a batmech lol
Lazurus pit.
Failing that, have Waynetech fund a "clone a young body of your self and transplant your brain into it" project and take advantage of it personally.
Failing that, remote controlled robo-batman.
Failing that... keep being Batman anyway until I die on the job.
Kino
>The guy who was buried alive
That episode actually scared me so much I turned it off and didn't finish it. It wasn't till years later I decided I should go watch it
It's fucking kino
>Ras is Talia
>Talia is Ras
>Talia is a MAN
>OH GOD... TALIA IS A MAN
Oh, didn't see this thread before I posted a new one. Just got around to watching Batman Beyond and damn, is it good
It really is almost shocking how good it is
>Kino
Back to Yea Forums with you.
Based Henry Rollins.
They kind of teased that Clayface was the villain of that episode.
Great show!
Do you think Dana like Terry’s job?
>Mess around with the DVD extras of Return of The Joker
>One of them is a dopey quiz on the series
>One of the questions asks who Dana is
>One of the wrong answers is "Inque's secret identity"
Kind of wish that was actually correct, to be honest. If nothing else, Dana would actually have a purpose.
dick status: muh
To me, Terry Mcginnis is the middle ground you should go for if you don’t want Batman grimdark, but not Spiderman lolrandom.
Well, of course BatMan wouldn’t bother. He wouldn’t know a joke if it bit him in the cape.
Fuck no.
closest thing you'll get to something like that is Arkham Knight
Technically Spellbinder is a Bruce villain, he’s just shit in comparison to Terry’s Spellbinder
>”You were so ready to believe the worst, it was easy”
Fuckin based
I find it kinda funny how Bruce retires because he had to pull out a gun on a guy and threaten to kill him, but Terry has killed how many villains without Bruce saying shit?
I mean, I know sometimes it's like "Kill the Fantastic Four or they're going to nuke the city", but he straight up tried to murder Derek Powers and actually murdered George Takei on his first night out.
crash
They didn't fuck. He wanted to, but Inque thought he was a loser. In that specific scene, in fact, he heavily intimates that he wants to have sex with Inque, she leans in and says she can think of something that can keep them both busy, and then she reaches past him to grab the remote to the television.
He then proceeds to sulk and the first thing on the television is a forecast predicting cold showers.
She loves her daughter.
I can't tell if Inque wanted to kill Terry or fuck him.
It honestly seems like both.
>She loves her daughter.
Isn't it implied that Inque kills her after she betrays her.
I heard that she kept taking care of her, but I don't know.
S-stoppit user :’(
Reminder that on her return appearance they do a fade to black when Melanie goes to Terry's room, implying they fucked. All while actually still dating Dana versus them being split up on Melanie's first appearance.
The show keeps it vague. The comics reveal that Deanna fell ill and wasted all her money trying to treat herself, while Inque left her alone out of shame for not being the mother she needed.
Why couldn't they have gone with the "no relation" route? I always loved the idea that Terry was a genuine miscreant from a less than stellar background, but with the right attitude and courage, he could rise up to the mantle of Batman. With the right guidance of course.
Were there any bad villains?
fpsp
I thought the kid who grew up to be with the April Moon gang was kind of fucking lame.
