Spider-Man #1 is not about Peter Parker, Spider-Man.
It is about Ben Parker, Spider-Man. The son of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson, the inheritor of the Spider-Man identity – and the story is set in the future of the Marvel Universe.
It's probably going to end with Ben going back to the 616, killing Not-Grievous and himself in the process
Jace Garcia
>famous dad gets his son a job doing Spider-Man It's like poetry
Brayden Cook
The article states his dad is also co-writing it, though.
Ryder Perry
>be born with spider powers >just want to own an Applebees >dad won't let me Being Ben Parker is suffering
Zachary Lopez
This is a thing that is true and believable. I for one will be giving marvel my money for this exciting series. Don't forget we still don't know who is CADAVEROUS!? stay tuned true believers!
Nathan Brown
Kek
Michael Scott
>Peter and MJ hook up and have a kid Yay!
Daniel Lee
This user has a point. How many times have we seen the “future” of marvel or a specific marvel character and later to be ignored and replaced with another future?
Connor Flores
This. At least writers like Ewing are self-aware of it, and he even had future Captain America Dani Cage tell the 616 Avengers: "Yeah, my future ain't ever gonna happen, the events that caused it were avoided in your timeline". And then there's idiots like Bendis who is all "Tony Stark will totally be Sorcerer Supreme in the future, guys! I'm sure that the writers that come after me aren't going to ignore me the same way I ignored them!".
Blake Adams
It's been done... multiple time. At this point it's just cliché.
Matthew King
Just what we needed, another white male Spider-Man.
Evan Sanchez
>Just what we needed, another white male Spider-Man. What?
William Walker
I'm ok with that. i mean i don't care about this series regardless so
Connor Thomas
judging by how terrible force awakens was this is probably going to be just as much feminist and sjw garbage
Zachary Hall
This is future/AU kid #3, right?
BUT, it's a legit change of pace, because the other two have been daughters. Think this is the first time an future/AU Peter & MJ have a son.
Nathaniel Jenkins
Oh, forgot about Benji from MC2. But he was still a baby, and not a full fledged Spider... so he kinda doesn't count.
Elijah Bailey
>With great power comes great responsibility-- YOINK no hard work for you, daddys gonna get you a cosy job writing a Spider-Man comic
Isaac Collins
That twist does give me a reason to read it, as if the kid and JJ are the kid and Peter.
Dominic Perez
"BEN! I HAD A CHAIN CALLED TGI-SPIDEY'S. IT WON'T WORK!"
Jose Brown
that sounds based
Austin Clark
You mean the same article that is based on information he was cleared to release?
These types of articles are PR and nothing more. JJ couldn't tell you about a single page or panel from this.
Spouses don't "hook up".
Why would they think this is a selling point?
Andrew Jones
>What? You heard him.
Lucas Bennett
Didn't J. J. Abrams fuck up Star Wars?
Brayden Brown
They literally have 4 possible future kids: Ben, Annie, May, and April.
Eli Miller
No Mayday? Fuck that.
Ethan Gray
>No Mayday? No, the book comes out this week.
Nolan James
He had a hand in it, but it was a joint effort.
Gabriel Smith
April???
Gavin Parker
>April? No, September 18th.
Elijah Flores
Huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh
Bentley Martin
Mayday clone. She's a symbiote hybrid. Goes by Mayhem. She's missing, presumed alive because MC2 Peter's been through this song and dance before.
Liam Long
May is still the best
Jackson Lee
I dont even have a gf but if I had a daugher I would be the most overprotective father ever. Is this fucking biology or what? I picture a son but I dont feel that strong of need to protect
Nolan Hernandez
so it's Gohan again? It's not like we haven't had tory like this before
Jace Wilson
Plus his kids in Life Story.
Easton Myers
Yes. Boy should fend for himself.
Dylan Thomas
It's the only one that works
Luis Hughes
If it turns out to be a non-canon future, that'll cool this book's jets almost immediately. I think there's a slimmer-than-jim chance this might be legit 616
Joshua Hall
I wouldn't give a shit if it had a good writer but I can't give a shit about JJ Abram's spawn enough to care about this.
Bentley Moore
All futures are non-canon because of how Marvel works.
Hunter Rogers
MJ looks good for someone who is thirty-forty?
Gavin Cox
She's the only one who had her own comic for a long ass period of time and the most developed of the Parker kids. Of course she's the best.
It's normal because men have a biological drive to protect women and when it comes to daughters you know other men are going to want to get in her pants and take advantage of her vulnerability. But the best thing you can do for her is making her self sufficient and the means to protect herself because you're never going to be there 24/7 for her.
Daniel Cox
I'm going to assume that J.J. wrote the story with his son, and Henry is writing the actual script.
All I know for sure is that Pichelli is doing the artwork, and that means my boner will have something new AND of high quality for the first in a long while.
Isaac Cook
>I'm going to assume that J.J. wrote the story with his son, and Henry is writing the actual script. Judging by these first pages and the way they're framed, it looks like JJ Abrams took his son's script, assembled a storyboard, then sent it to Pichelli, who drew over the story. Even the panels look like storyboard frames and not the sort of thing an artist who has to follow a script consisting of "panel 1/panel 2/panel 3".
Lincoln Parker
Of course they'll tell you it's legit 616. Until another writer comes and retcons the fuck out of it away.
That is if Abrams can even finish the story.
Chase Perry
>JJ Abrams, Henry Abrams We're gonna get some dumb mystery box bullshit and the actual mystery and reveal will be super lame like all of Abrams' work. You heard it here first, folks.
And this is what happens when you let some teenager get his fanfic published just because his dad is famous.
Henry Harris
>like all of Abrams' work You're putting way too much faith in JJ having any involvement in this beyond getting Marvel to publish it.
Joseph King
>Literally starting your story with Peter Parker getting his neck ripped out by Spider-Man Xenomorphs and dying while crying. >"NOW HERE'S MY OC SPIDER-MAN"
Michael Morris
Just what we need another whiny bitch who thinks that some jew writing some brown fuck stealing the name spider-man means anything
Jaxson Martinez
so instead of murder this useless whore they kill off peter fucking retarded
Thomas Fisher
Mayday,Annie may,Spider-bitch's mom, the other alt universe bens. I feel like there are others but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
Jacob Phillips
Good riddance. Where's Miles?
Kevin Nelson
It's a non-canon fanfic, who cares.
Nathaniel Cooper
Who?
Nicholas Baker
Miles, Miles Morales, of Ultimate Spider-Man fame. He got a movie recently, Spider-Verse?
Josiah Turner
Oh, the brown recluse. He's too irrelevant to be part of any alt-future.
Jonathan Peterson
It tends to go like this: >The author wants to focus on the kid and explore their character Daughter >The author wants a throwaway line right before they kill Peter that he has passed on his genetic line Son
This is the first time they've had a son and he's an actual major character.
Jaxson Perez
Good movie, but he's really shit in the comics so they're probably keeping him at arm's length so he doesn't fuck this up worse than it already appears to be.
Mason Howard
Yeahh I was paying attention to Peter b Parker you know the only Spider-Man and not the copycat
Landon Young
>not the copycat Ben Reilly?
John Gray
Nahh Ben Reilly is a good guy... Y'know he banged Betty brant one time..
Jeremiah Russell
this is just a shitty who cares story that's not canon but seethe harder.
Nicholas Campbell
Really? Good for betty, she was trying to get pete in her for years
Oliver Torres
Speaking of sons and daughter and Ben Reilly, he had a son that becomes a Daredevil hero in the MC2 and there's an alt universe were Peter dies and he has a daughter with MJ.
