I just noticed something. On the last page, he was trying to act like everything was fine, so he said that Paulo has a funny way of showing he cares. It's only after Sandy shits on him for being a burger flipper that he goes on to call him an idiot and complain about Paulo being nosy. It's nothing too surprising, but he's hiding his true emotions, only revealing them when he thinks Sandy would be okay with them.

Panel 2 is something I think he's right about. Even if you're friends with somebody, it's not your job to manage their relationship. And "friends" is a strong word when it comes to Mike and Paulo.
