The new retard ways of DC of puting 2 types of the same book: > 20. BATMAN #76 (DC) - 58,539 [19] > 79. BATMAN #76 CARD STOCK (DC) - 26,340 [52] If you combine both of them you get around 84K units.
Henry Powell
No, he never really specified which, and I think it's gonna be one of the Manga line that was announced weeks ago instead. He might be relying on Japan sales for that... It's either that, or X-Men #1. But Marvel Comics #1000 had no chance at all to sell a million issues with that price point, and I'm sure they knew it (but watch people claim otherwise).
>99. BATMAN #232 FACSIMILE ED (DC) - 21,178 [105] So a reprint selling 21K is what Didio was bitching about at SDCC
Robert Miller
We'll never fully know unless Celbulski admits it. What we do know is that he tweeted about "what it would be like to sell a 1 million copy issue again" for about a week. Then he said, "guys, check out the advertisements in this week's issues for details". Those advertisements were the Creative Team full page ads for Marvel #1000. Things went quiet for about a month, until newsarama reported that sales preorders were low compared to expectations. They were running under the assumption that this was the 1 Million book too. Then Celbulski told them "I never said that was the book" and they passive-aggressively updated their story with all of his old tweets suggesting it was.
The manga is a good option to be that book, but teasing it a year in advance is weird.
Jaxson Baker
> 11. VENOM #17 (MARVEL) - 66,942 > 16. IMMORTAL HULK #22 (MARVEL) - 62,053 Looks like Venom had to be part of its own event in order to get in the top 20, since for all the boasting, it hadn't been here since last year, I believe. And Immortal Hulk remains strong, last month it sold 83K and 54K (the first one with variants), so if this pattern is repeated next month, expect Immortal Hulk #25 to sell between 85K and 90K. Also say whatever you want, but this > 1. ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #1 (MARVEL) - 233,173 > 8. ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #2 (MARVEL) - 94,070 Is a very steep drop, of exactly -139,10%.
Don't do this. Celebrate the fact that Captain Marvel rose in sales in a noticeable way by 5K without overshipping, but comparing it to Captain America at such low numbers simply invites controversy. True, but I also remember seeing people like Stegman claim that Absolute Garbage sold half a million, which as we can see was comple bullshit. They often overestimate their own numbers, I don't think anything recently has sold as much as that. And 200K copies is nothing to scoff at in this economy, regardless.
Matthew Walker
They’re women they only find value in who they stand over not what they stand for
Owen Thompson
Yes. He was very butthurt for some dumb reason. I guess he blamed the reprints for the whole company only selling 24% for some dumb reason.
Julian Jones
> 36. HISTORY OF MARVEL UNIVERSE #2 (MARVEL) - 43,601 Glad to see it selling so well considering what it is. > 37. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #8 (MARVEL) - 43,333 Cates' GOTG NEVER moves from this range, it's always 40K-45K. Weird how this works. > 54. GREEN LANTERN #10 (DC) - 31,946 DC should be pushing this instead of more Batman. It's a disgrace how low it went. > 69. DOCTOR STRANGE #17 (MARVEL) - 27,289 > 73. DOCTOR STRANGE #18 (MARVEL) - 26,959 This remains steady if I'm not mistaken, I'll have to run the numbers, but I wish it was higher. The relaunch should help. > 77. SILVER SURFER PRODIGAL SUN #1 (MARVEL) - 26,496 For a one-shot of a character nobody knew of until now, this sold surprisingly well... Must be mostly because of Silver Surfer, though.
> 108. CAPTAIN MARVEL #8 [07/17/19] (MARVEL) - 20,057 HOLY REORDERS, BATMAN! The speculators went crazy over this one, eh?
Alexander Wood
Honestly l was expecting Batman sales would rise around 100k after #75. This number is a bit disappointing.

Kayden Sullivan
Strange has been kinda increasing a little the past few issues
Nathaniel Taylor
Not that big for a hyped up event with a million variants.
Aaron James
> 69. IMMORTAL HULK VOL 01 OR IS HE BOTH (MARVEL) - 1,015 This is the kinda stuff people often ignore to measure the success of a series... A year later, this trade is still selling well. This, although 20K is nothing to scoff at, it can't be just speculation. The new cover must have helped too.
>104. MAGNIFICENT MS. MARVEL #6 (MARVEL) - 20,673 [153] >gets overshipped by a ton and still can't make it into the top 100 >dollar amount would be around 12k >it got outsold by the pig girl comic Unnatural The Spider-man of this generation
>being proud of barely outselling a comic that is 4 chapters ahead of you
Logan Nguyen
>Carol comfortably outselling Wondy Nice
Samuel Ross
>>it got outsold by the pig girl comic Unnatural Good because the comic is a great fap-fuel material.
Isaiah Diaz
Eh, it's just that Rodwhatever tripfag desperately trying to make it seem like Carol has any fans at all.
Parker Cook
How based can /ourgirl/ be?
Oliver Wilson
Carol better be outselling a book that is almost seventy issues ahead of her current volume
Julian Evans
Aren't you supposed to wait til tomorrow for your samefagging thread, Carolfag?
Thomas Gray
It's not me, I was the one who called that retard out here . I don't use the trip when it's unnecessary, and I was actually busy charting the sales. I hate when the shitposting Carolfags instigate drama because it reflects badly on everyone else. Anyway HERE'S the fucking chart.
>DC should be pushing this instead of more Batman. It's a disgrace how low it went.
See GL is actually around 43k adding up both versions. Still low though.
Liam Roberts
Neither of these are anything to be proud of, they're fucking pathetic numbers.
Evan Clark
CAROLFAGS RISE UP to a 40k sustained run
Liam Foster
Which is still pathetic as fuck.
Isaac Martinez
Is the best numbers from a ongoing that is not a #1. The fuck are you talking about?
Easton Gutierrez
Here's the GOTG chart... No noticeable changes beyond a slight dip of 3K compared to the previous month, not counting reorders (which give it a leeway of 3K every other month).
Here's Doctor Strange so far, seems like it won't break 30K until the end of the run (or the Annual by Howard), but at least it's not dipping lower than this.
And lastly, the events, which I'm sure most of you are more interested to see. So far Absolute Carnage is selling much better than War of the Realms (as expected), though it should be noted that the drop from #1 to #2 was much higher in AC (-139.103%) compared to WotR (-117.147%). If it manages to stay within the 90K range, then they shouldn't be too worried.
Based Fantastic Chads blowing Hal Cucks the fuck out.
Juan Bennett
Captain America isn't even about Steve. All he does is shower and run around half naked while a bunch of strong, independent women check his white male privilege and fight evil republicans 2 issues ago said women literally told him that men will never understand what fighting for liberty is about.
Jacob Roberts
>MAGNIFICENT MS. MARVEL #6 (MARVEL) - 20,673 [153] The overshipping on Kamala is pretty pitiful. Even though they seemed to move away from these tactics when Axel was replaced they are just desperate to keep her alive after pushing so hard for her. They should pull back instead of forcing her down everyone throats.
> 61. TONY STARK IRON MAN #15 (MARVEL) - 30,359 [66]
How the fuck is Marvel biggest character(thanks to MCU) is still selling like a B-lister?
Nicholas Cruz
the price is too high
Samuel Howard
His popularity will drastically drop since he's no longer the figurehead of the movies.
Bentley Sanders
Modern movies have never helped comic book sales It's a niche dying industry
Elijah Wilson
Iron Man has never really sold well. His comics do well and he gets spikes whenever a movie came out but he has nothing going for him. This is why that Mandarin twist in IM3 was so bad. Mandarin needed to be revitalized and giving Tony's archenemy such a boost would've been something that Marvel Comics would've pounced on. But it was all a joke and Iron Man once again has no villains to call his own. And someone also pointed out how some of the best villains for other characters originated in Iron Man, like Thanos.
Ayden Diaz
you're right BUT the last thing that cost 9.99 and sold like this was ASM #25 in 2017 with 114k 207k is no million but it's still good
Christopher Garcia
marvel, ofc
Jordan Anderson
She isn't, she's selling ~38k which is pretty good.
Dylan Harris
This. The profit margin must be massive, but I guess it breaks even when you figure in all the special artists and writers included.
Luis Brooks

Dominic Ramirez
>ugly woke art that desexulize all the once sexy female characters It's you. Could you please get a tripname so we can all filter your retarded cumbrain complaints?
I think the problem is that Morrison is trying to push Green Lantern while ignoring what made its popularity blow up with Johns' run and the multiple corps.
Easton Morris
>ASM 25 >2017 What? user that came out like last month
Owen Reed
But I like friendly neighborhood, it’s doing the smaller stories while spencer cleans up the canon. I don’t particularly love rumor but the way Taylor treats Pete is mostly fine. What’s your problem with it?
Isaiah White
Don't bother, he's a cumbrain that cries over why he can't get more softcore porn in comics
Kayden Murphy
Venditti tried doing a rehash of Johns and people hated it
Brayden Carter
>nobody cares yeah judging by ever decreasing sale numbers they sure don't ^^ also no idea what your cult reference means
Nathan Hernandez
feminist writing. tony stark doesn't get to anything cool, he just makes lame jokes and is overall ordered around and ridiculed by much more competent and smarter women. don't see why anybody who actually likes the character would read this emasculation hit job. it's even worse what king is doing to batman
Brayden Cruz
why did superman sales jump all of a sudden?
Isaiah Rodriguez
DC's top comics: >Batman/Superman >Batman >Batman Curse of the White Knight >DCeased >Superman Year One >DCeased >Batman >Detective >Justice League >Detective >Event Leviathan >Superman
In their top 12 comics, there's 6 Batman Books, Justice League (has Batman), 3 events (1 that features Batman), and 2 Superman books. Their top non-Bat or Supes book is Green Lantern at #54.
At what point does DC just stop publishing all other characters?
Michael Barnes
It didn't drop 30K though, that's its actual sales without the variant push. Every other month it pulls 80K onwards. Card stock gimmick.
Adam Ortiz

Considering these are monthly sales figures, I'm not so sure. Absolute Carnage #1 released on August 7th, so it had most of the month to sell all through it's variants and reprints. Absolute Carnage #2 released August 28th so only had a few days to chart. It'll be interesting to see where the issue lands on next months chart for its real sales performance.

Maybe if #997, #998 and #999 existed (as well as the hundreds preceding it), it would've had enough of a buildup to get there. Just my 2¢.
Bentley Butler
>> 16. IMMORTAL HULK #22 (MARVEL) - 62,053 I-I don't understand fellow Marvelbros. It's supposed to be outselling Batman. W-what happened? fucking kek guess the variants finally stopped bumping the series
Robert Turner
I mean, of course. The point I was making last thread was that it was just a patheticly desperate bid for Marvel to get a book with #1000 on the cover. They didn't even bother coming up with a reason for it having that number. They may as well have called it issue #10,000. When they actually get a big book to #1000 properly it'll sell super well.
Dylan Foster
>Implying 60k is even remotely bad Still the best book out of the Big 2, sorry kid.
Cooper Sanchez
Seething
Sebastian Perry
how the fuck are you going to try to start a company war about sales when DC can't get anyone but Batman and Superman into the top 30?
Elijah Clark
>moving the goalposts Marveldrone can't read Where did I imply 60k was bad? Marvelfags have been going on for ages about how it's outselling Batman and it's covers had nothing to do with it.
Cameron Morales
Oh my god how horrible, the book is still in the top 20 but oh my god how is it not beating Batman, truly a disgrace! >Marvelfags have been going on for ages It was only a few months, calm the fuck down, company warrior. And the unavoidable truth is that it's still a better read than Batman, by a mile.
Carson Walker
Look at the sales data from issues #2-#15 and compare them to today's. Still believe the covers have something to do with it?
Anthony Taylor
>implying nothing but #1's, events, Spider-Man or X-Men books are any better
Cooper Butler
They clearly objectively do. Books don't jump and then drop 30-50k for any other reason.
Gabriel Cruz
I don't get it why is it when two issues are released in a month the newer book normally sells more than the older one
Benjamin Barnes
>not using the combined list Are Marvel fags that desperate to """win"""?
Mason Peterson
>Spider-man >Venom >Hulk >Avengers >Black Cat >Fantastic Four >Silver Surfer >Valkyrie >Guardians >Thor >Star Wars >Captain America That's a list of all the Marvel characters that show up before Green Lantern hits the list, not counting the #1s. So yes, I'd say it's better.
Kevin Martin
>> 122. AERO #2 (MARVEL) - 16,644 [132] >>> 147. SWORD MASTER #2 (MARVEL) - 12,930 [162] Those are brutal drop-offs from the first issues.
Zachary Thompson
>It's either that, or X-Men #1. HoXPoX is selling well, but not well enough for stores to order a million copies of that.
Jace Sanchez
Are you desperate to instigate drama? Let's use the combined list, if you so wish:
>1 Absolute Carnage #1 233,173 >2 Marvel Comics #1000 206,931 >3 Batman Superman #1* 156,610 >4 DCeased #4 (All) 119,786 >5 House of X #3 109,110 >6 Powers of X #2 107,524 >7 House of X #2 101,972 >8 Powers of X #3 100,267 >9 Absolute Carnage #2 94,070 >10 Batman #76 (All) 84,879 >11 Batman #77 81,215 >12 Batman Curse of the White Knight #2 74,838 >13 Venom #17 66,942 >14 Amazing Spider-Man #28 66,851 >15 Absolute Carnage Vs. Deadpool #1 66,846 >16 Absolute Carnage Scream #1 64,167 >17 Amazing Spider-Man #27 63,440 >18 Immortal Hulk #22 62,053 >19 Superman Year One #2* 59,882 >20 Absolute Carnage Miles Morales #1 53,866
Ethan Cruz
>Valkyrie >35 in units >72 in dollars Holy free overship Batman. Grats man.
Jaxson Cruz
>Marvel only have a single book in the top 20 that isn't a #1, and event, a Spider or an X book The absolute state.
Oliver Howard
>DC has zero (0) books (out of 6) in the top 20 that have nothing to do with Batman Absolute yikes.
Parker Richardson
same thing with gwenpool
Jeremiah Wilson
>19 Superman Year One #2* 59,882 >its a Marvelfag can't read episode
Superman is Batman adjacent. Thanks for playing though.
Joseph Wright
>superman year one >supermans origin from Frank Millers Dark Knight returns You just got got user
Blake Cook
Company war piss guzzling faggots doing it for free.
Aaron Turner
both of these are me I just wanna belong somewhere, I don't care where
Kevin Butler
>Don't do this. Celebrate the fact that Captain Marvel rose in sales in a noticeable way by 5K without overshipping, but comparing it to Captain America at such low numbers simply invites controversy. No, it's fine. Carolfags are like Icarus and will fly too close to the sun and when they think they'll go binary they'll just burn and crash and everyone will just point and laugh.
Luke Price
But the entire initial argument was that Marvel only has one book as well. >tries to counter that at least it's still more than DC has >fucks up >LOLOLOL DC ONLY HAS ONE This is sad man.
Sebastian Powell
But Marvel *doesn't* have just one book, it has several. You're just removing a lot of options because it doesn't fit your narrative.
Andrew Miller
Its nice to see toe boy in blue do well it's 19th in sales but 4th in dollars. I just wish that I didn't hate bendis so much, I'd start buying action comics. Any recomendations on trades I should get? I already have the big ones, year one, all star, for all seasons
Michael Diaz
I fucking hate that Cates' Guardians are doing decent.
Connor Smith
>> 47. CAPTAIN MARVEL #9 (MARVEL) - 37,888 [46] nice>> 108. CAPTAIN MARVEL #8 [07/17/19] (MARVEL) - 20,057 >HOLY REORDERS, BATMAN! The speculators went crazy over this one, eh? every issue has thus far gone to 2nd and some 3rd printings. Not sure why comics now have such low print runs that stuff they KNOW will sell out still gets a lower than needed print run and goes to reprints instead of just getting the number right the first time
can you add HoXPoX to this chart at some point? Would be nice to compare an X-Men event to the past ones. as always, thanks for the charts Hickman
Dominic Evans
Are you me? I'm glad he's off the title in December at least, but goddamn I can't stand the consistent sales.
James Brooks
Sure, will do. Not sure how far I'm gonna go but I'm gonna compile numbers from Gold/Blue/Red onwards at least.
Caleb Peterson
Haven't they already?
Elijah Cook
>104. MAGNIFICENT MS. MARVEL #6 (MARVEL) - 20,673 [153] Literally Ahmeds worst selling book and it's being overshipped to hide the fact.
Carson Nguyen
>But Marvel *doesn't* have just one book >Marvel only have a single book in the top 20 that isn't a #1, and event, a Spider or an X book
>You're just removing a lot of options because it doesn't fit your narrative Using that argument DC has a bunch as well.
Asher Watson
Any Superman stories by Waid, Johns, or Morrison. The Tomasi/Gleason and Jurgans Rebirth stuff as well.
Hunter Torres
It's a garbage book...I had hoped it would be at least ok
Jayden Cox
Yeah I want to get the trades for rebirth and supersons, my LCS has the collection of alex rosses DC hero series and I've been wanting to buy it for months but my other purchases there always put the price a little to high. By next week I'll have actual pulls at both of my shops (I've been waiting for my work schedule to stabilize so I can use my gas a little more efficiently when it comes to buying) one is between me and work and the other is a town over where I sometimes hangs with people
My pull list is as follows Amazing Friendly Immortal Jimmy Olsen Dial H for hero Star Trek year 5
Any other recommendations on my pull? I'm trying to diversify my tastes a bit.
Matthew Robinson
Those are multiple franchises vs Batman.
Sebastian Adams
The Dreaming Lucifer Second Coming Red Sonja Elvira Mistress of the Dark (if you like comedy)
Mason Edwards
I've been hearing good things about elvira, I'll check it out. and I didn't even realize that second coming came out. I bought the trades for the flintstones so I'll support russel
Daniel Flores
>> 59. CONAN THE BARBARIAN EXODUS #1 (MARVEL) - 30,522 [63] this is criminal.
Parker Williams
Hawkman, Wonder Twins and Green Lantern are all great. Justice League as well if you like shounen action. Prieststroke has been amazing but he's almost finished his run so may as well wait.
Ayden Young
>your arbitrary reasons don't count >MY arbitrary reason on the other hand does because reasons at least try to be fucking consistent.
Austin Taylor
Wonder Twins seem to be very suited to your tastes. Light hearted humour book like jimmy
Josiah Wilson
Yeah I regret not picking up green lantern at 1 but I didn't know how much of it I needed to have prior knowledge for. But I'll pick up 11 and go from there.
How much do I need to read of sandman to get dreaming? I honestly never started sandman its on my list but I've got a handful of books in front of it
Robert Cruz
>Batman 77 at 81k Am I not seeing a card stock variant or something or is that the actual total? I get that he only has eight issues left and so there’s a chance things will go up towards the end, but it’s really surreal to think that Batman might actually hit 70k or lower. Snyder’s run was pretty lame but at least it sold consistently well.
William Perry
Overall comic sales are laughable. Batman selling less than 100K is beyond pathetic.
Angel Thompson
DO NOT READ THE DREAMING BEFORE SANDMAN
also read sandman ASAP, and don’t get spoiled
Gavin Sullivan
Batman only sold around 100k around Synder days. Morrison sold around 70ish k iirc
Caleb Nguyen
If you like classic Strange try out Waid’s Dr Strange
William Lopez
Is he off after December or is his stupid arc ending? Because I would be happy if he's gone. I just hope he's not replaced by Aaron, I don't want him to ruin GotG like he ruined Thor.
Same I gave it a chance and it's obvious Cates has no interest in it like he does with Venom. He can't even be assed to learn the character's personalities. I also hate the shit Editor in Cosmic.
Jaxson Parker
> BLACK CAT there's still hope for Yea Forums's future i see
I've been hearing good things, if my store still has copies I'll pick up a few back issues before the new imprint starts
I know I've just been dragging my feet, I'm reading the hulk right now in anticipation of reading immortal so after I finish the 90s run I'll start sandman (or more than likely just read one piece again)
Adrian Gonzalez
If you’re picking up dr strange you can just start at the herald supreme arc, which is one of the best strange arcs in the past few decades. The other two are still very enjoyable as are the one and done stories, but the first space arc does have a slow start (but it quickly gets better)
Lincoln Myers
What Synder sold better than Morrison? Batfags really have shit taste
Jaxon Allen
I liked herald supreme the most too but dude it’s almost always better to start at #1. There’s a couple things in there that are informed by the previous issues
Nolan Watson
I'd honestly attribute it more to Snyder being at ground-central at a financially successful relaunch/reboot and having Greg Capullo on art for the whole stretch.
But then again King also has one of the best-selling Batman runs in decades, and that's with the added handicap of his run double shipping rather than going monthly like it traditionally has.
Ethan Peterson
Morrison isn't actually a huge seller, there's a lot of people that just won't read stuff by him.
Adam Powell
Black Cat doing well for her third issue.
Noah Carter
If quality mattered Marvel and DC wouldn't be bigger than Image and Darkhorse.
Connor Foster
>There were people who said Marvel #1000 (Literally what is #1000 about this?) would outsell AC and Tec #1000
Jaxon Jackson
>and Batman #77 dipped below 60k. That's because of the split of the card stock and regular printing. So I guess Batman really is back to outselling Hulk. Fucks sake.
J Scott Campbell fucking sells better than Alex Ross and I don't get it.
Joseph Howard
>The solicitation for Guardians of the Galaxy #12 itself teases the end of the "Faithless" storyline, one which has been building over Cates' time writing cosmic tales from Death of the Inhumans until now. While it would seem from the solicitation its just the story arc ending — they do tend to last six issues, after all — a press release distributed by Marvel seems to carry much more sinister phrasing.
>In the press release, Marvel describes the issue as "the exciting conclusion to Donny Cates' legendary cosmic run," a pretty clear indicator that at the very least,Cates' time on the title is up. Marvel's Ryan Penagos seems to double-down on the fact in the latest edition of the Marvel Pull List, saying "Donny Cates' culmination of a massively interwoven story he's been telling across four titles — Thanos, Guardians of the Galaxy, Silver Surfer: Black, and Death of the Inhumans — has all been leading to this one issue." According to every report, it's ending for good.
Blake Rogers
thank god, he's fucked up enough in cosmic Marvel
Brayden King
Absolutely, but the monkey paw here is that we might end up with Aaron in the title. We'll see, I'm at least glad it's not gonna be Cates anymore behind the wheel.
Ryan Nelson
Classic marvel to relaunch once the sales start stabilising. It’s really goddamn annoying, I like to see the numbers go up. Well, at least Waid is still writing it, I wonder if he will still be there when the movie rolls in
Isaiah Gray
why the fuck wouldn't they let Ewing do Marvel Cosmic? He seems to have the best grasp of it. Then again...he's too busy autistically following a black mask down the rabbit hole and I love it
