Pretty bad but for many different reasons.

He's low tier cosmic but in exchange that either relegates him to mediocre benchwarming as a living Deus Ex Machina or getting the shit beat out of him by other galactic threats. He'll never have a happy ending as his messiah complex would break him because he'd try to save everyone and talk/cry his way out of things. It's not that someone would donkey punch him in a monologue, it's more that you can't save everyone no matter how much power/tears you have. Also he's an alien hybrid and right now they're a stand in for muslim immigrants in Marvel. Either he becomes Carol Danvers new pet to "redeem" her while she's just as arrogant/dangerous as White&Yellow Diamond combined, or everyone hates him as he could be a Kree or Skrull in disguise trying to colonize Earth again.

Same as the above but much worse. Marvel right now is trying it's best to be Looney Tunes style zany and irreverent along with Happy Tree Friends style deaths. DC always plays up the edge plus has many more irredeemable villains who just want to ruin your day and/or steal 40 cookie cats from Steven. Steven eventually would get his face stuck like OP's pic from being worn down from it all and would rather go back to Homeworld with his smothering aunts than put up with Gotham/Star City/Etcs bullshit. Also Steven being a fat, entitled, crybaby jewish boy with overbearing aunts means he'd get Bendis'd hard.
