This is not your average, everyday darkness. This is... advanced darkness.

sneed *pffft*
Started watching this again recently.
The Algaes Always Greener was fucking great.
>But I've never reviewed anything. Except for those foreign exercise videos my cousin sent me...
Classic episode. You really can't go wrong with anything from the first 3 seasons
Except I'm With Stupid and Squirrel Jokes.
Very lovecraftian, I like it.
The show has lots of really unique imagery
I took a read of the episode listing on Wikipedia the other day and realised that every good or memorable episode I saw as a kid was from the first season, with a few from the second and third. Not surprising, but just goes to show that when a show's creator (Hillenburg) ditches the show and says it should be done, then it really should be done. Spongebob is probably still running in some sort of zombified form like the Simpsons, pretty morbid thought desu
I think there's an equal spread of good episodes throughout, but the first season is probably my favorite as well. I heard that they are now working on a spinoff show about younger spongebob and that they announced it right after Hillenburg died. It's a shame that successful things end up getting milked instead of having a satisfying conclusion
>It's a shame that successful things end up getting milked instead of having a satisfying conclusion
I really wonder who is behind this
>Goodbye everyone, I'm remember you all in therapy.
>The dark deed you requested is done sir
You can’t believe how much that scene fucked me up as a kid
One of my Spongebob DVDs had the Mrs. Puff Prison episode and Nasty Patty paired back to back and I'll tell you, that was an unsettling viewing experience as an 8 year old.
I was right there with you. This episode also made me experience some uncomfortable feelings as a kid
Does anyone know wtf this was... I saw this as a kid and I still don't get it. Where the fuck did he go? I know it was called "nowhere" but what was the inspiration for it?
Idk, maybe it's supposed to be purgatory or some sort of intense ego death
I've never watched Sponge-bob, but am considering picking it up. From what I understand Seasons 1-3 plus the First movie is a pretty good run to start and stop at?
Yep, enjoy,
It's the manifestation of Squidward's mind once he fully achieve solitude, and realizes that the insanity which surrounds him in his everyday life is what actually keeps him sane. Squidward is an incredibly judgmental character, and when forced to placate himself in solitude, he realizes how empty he is without having others to measure himself by, i.e Spognebob and Patrick being idiots, Squilliam for being rich and successful, or the townspeople of Bikini Bottom for being literal NPCs.
Alright, thanks for the confirmation.
But those are kino.
There a few gems throughout the rest of the series run, but you have to ride it out through an ocean of shit, so it's just not worth it. Seasons 1-3 are great and some of the best stuff to ever air on a kids network.
My father thought it was a reference to the Sea of Holes in Yellow Submarine. I always thought that was a bit of a stretch, but it could've been the inspiration.
Prime SpongeBob is honestly the best cartoon ever
Kino
r-really?
advanced darkness...
When I was a kid I thought "advanced darkness" was an actual weather phenomenon that would disrupt electronics.
>Spongebob is underwater South Park now
What went wrong? It used to be family friendly
a daring synthesis
Raimi guest directed an episode, Spongebob's other outings were a bit more tolerant.
I can hear it
I was under the impression that it was the timeless void after the universe ended. Didn't he try going forward in time and break the machine which sent him to a far-flung unknown date in the future?
Regardless, yeah, pretty insane content for a children's show. I love it.
Its more Kafkaesque
please, no meat touching ma'am
wtf mods
t. MrEnter.
Those are some of the best
how racist
Holy shit I’m remembering feelings I suppressed years ago
