no, I'm sure there's a whole corporate board that agrees with you, on a fiscal stand point
Realistically, how much money do you think it would make
They are so cute, is it wrong to ship them
I want Disney's monopoly on IP's to be dismantled, by force if need be
You do know that Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland are public domain right
There was some terrible cg movie awhile back
for now
I'm talking about Disney, not some literal who company
Does it really help adapting it unless you are going to dent the library of Oz?
Its 14 books.
can it be modelled after Marvel's Oz?
What do you mean
Just a little.
I'm reminded of a comic I read on Tapas, it had Dorothy, Alice, and Wendy Darling.
Dorothy was a nerd, Alice was a bit of a bitch but in her defense she'd just gotten out of fucking Bedlam, and Wendy was a slightly older tomboy.
It stopped after Alice had jacked the Ruby Slippers and gotten into Oz and dragged Wendy with her, who promptly fell asleep in the poppy field, while Alice stayed awake having built up a resistance to Laudanum.
Can't remember the title. all I get is Lost Girls by Moore.
The classic literature
I saw a page on google images when i looked up Dorothy and Alice, Dorothy is black in that one right
Also i just read the Lost Girls wikipedia page, is Moore usually that fucked up
I think she's just supposed to be suntanned, she's a Kansas farm girl bunking with two English girls who don't get any sun on their rainy isle.
But yeah, Chesshire Crossing, that's the one.
And Moore does fall into that a lot, though his better works avoid those trappings, usually.
So Moore is like the old zack snyder
Is CC more lighthearted than LG
Oh by far, Lost Girls is Moore replacing Fantasy with stunted budding sexuality, where Cheshire Crossing is a crossover adventure. It has dark humor, but that's different.
It would have been cool to see Dorothy in the Disney animated canon alongside Alice, too bad Walt cancelled it
Thanks for the info, i'll check out CC later
They might have been able to top Judy Garland's performance, but I still doubt it.
They did, it was called Return to Oz.
It would be CGI and have the same problems as everything Disney these days.
>is Moore usually that fucked up
yup
Alice is a much more fun character. I like that she is constantly trying to use proper logic, questioning and etiquette even though it makes no sense.
Not a monopoly by any stretch of the definition, just because they hold the rights to a lot of pop culture nerd shit that you like doesn't mean shit.
I havent heard anything one way or the other, but I really hope "Dorothy and Alice" will be 2d animated.
There was a really weird japanese game very very very loosely based on wizard of oz
This was Dorothy and the cat is toto
Nah, they'd never be able to make it as iconic as the original live action movie.
Maybe an adaptation based on a different culture?
It'll just be CGI trash, or more live action garbage like the James Franco movie.
I want to play American McGee's Dorothy instead
Sorry user... the Kickstarter fell through.
oz.fandom.com
Muppets Wizard of Oz.
There are other games though
Tom and Jerry did it
I'm talking about animation
Before Alice there was actually an American McGee's Oz in the talks
literally nothing but yourself stopping you from doing whatever you want with either the Oz series or the Wonderland series
you just can't specifically use either of these adaptations, but that's not entirely a bad thing
Oz, especially, had a lot of dark themes and plot elements not used in the original movie, and it could make for a far more entertaining movie to have it in there
That's just a WB cash grab
I have an Oz JRPG on DS. One of the shittiest games I ever bought.
Was it Japanese exclusive
Nope, they localized it. I thought it would be impossible to screw up but the controls are bafflingly ill conceived. It's hard to explain but the touch screen emulates a track ball and that's how you move, you 'roll' it in the direction you want to go. I'd rather have Langwidere cut off my head so the Gump can take a steamy Gump dump down my esophagus than play that shitload of fuck.
Oh yeah, i remember watching a trailer for that game, this is it right youtube.com
I want them to do it but adapt the book more directly so I can hear the autistic screeching about the ruby slippers being silver.
Yeah that's the one. It makes me sad because on paper it's like my dream game. But with one glaring flaw they ruined it...
It kind of saddens me to think that Alice and Dorothy could've been seen a lot more together if Disney didn't cancel there Oz movie, like in Kingdom Hearts or House of Mouse
I actually beat that game, the end credits song is nice.
The entire game is a fucking endless grindfest.
The controls are absolutely not the worst thing about that game.
Dorothy is actually also in another ds jrpg from NIS called a witches tale.
There's a big crossover from stories around the world
>alice
>kaguya
>dorothy
>etc

Oz characters are also in Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.
Who's Kaguya
Japanese folktale about a bamboo moon princess.
How is American McGee's Alice
Peak aesthetic but it shows it's age gameplay wise. Madness Returns is also style over substance but other than levels dragging far longer than they should and some clear cut content it's still a fun romp.
An interesting take. I recommend starting with the first game, despite the dated controls.
I still think Madness Returns is the best 3D platformer not named Mario. It was a welcome entry in a dead genre.
>Dragon
>not temple lion
YOU HAD ONE JOB.
INSTEAD YOU BRING DISHONOR TO FAMILY.
which characters where in that Game? I know Lincoln was the main character.
>a 7.5 year old with a pretty grown-ass teenager
it's wrong.
I just like it more now
Book Dorothy is a little girl too.
Yes, but even if it weren't... it should be a Wicked movie instead.
youtube.com
Characters from American literature like Tom Sawyer, Tiger Lily and main character Henry Fleming along with some Fire Emblem guest characters
The Oz marvel books follow the literature very well, there's an adaptation of each of the first six books
I'd agree if the books past the first one were any good.
Well then i might check it out
I highly recommend them, the hardcovers are fantastic
MGM Dorothy is actually supposed to be a little girl as well. They even put Garland in a corset to bind her chest.
So what is her age
11 apparently.
This is also based off of the non-Baum books, she generally comes across as younger than that in my opinion.
Just to clarify i ship teen or older versions of them
What's this about
