Heroic and non-treacherous starscream who sacrifice his life to try and show his beloved leader the true enemy.
Make another character, they literally raped his character.

And then he was just straight-up evil again in Cybertron, so none of it mattered
He had character development, over the long term of the show. More than any of the other characters.
The worst part is the shitty animation, like that time Starscream was just a black dot with wings.
And you obviously haven't heard of BWII Starscream.
You mean Hellscream?
You replied before me, right?
He only got called that after getting a new to- I mean, upgrade.
Yes, there was a typo and I was worried it wouldn't be obvious enough that I didn't mean what actually got typed instead of what I actually intended.
>shitty japanese only show
Japanese stuff isn't canon.
Ebwrything from the unicron trilogy was bad op thanks goodness they made animated
It is to the Japanese continuity.
Just like how this Starscream is canon to the Unicron Trilogy show continuity, and how Unicron being made by some space fish/monkey scientist whose lab assistant became the Matrix of Leadership is canon to the G1 cartoon continuity.
The japanese take on Transformers is literally Fanfic tier and can be safely discarded by western audiences.
>Fanfic tier
What does that even mean?
it means the writing and plot is so bad it could have been written by a rando fan on the internet and you wouldn't notice a difference.
Well he was treasonous, but he was treasonous in the way that he genuinely thought he'd be a better leader than Megatron was and his wishy washy between Bots and Cons was just him trying to show he knows what's best for both parties, so it always looks like he's betraying someone every six seconds. His final act is him seeing the destruction coming and sacrificing himself because he learned that there was something bigger than himself.
Honestly he's not a bad character, I just liked him better when he was called Dinobot.
user, from the over 30 years of Transformers media out there, and I can tell you with every fiber of my being, if you think Armada is "fanfic tier" you best leave the franchise now and never read ANY of the comics.
Or Season 3 G1.
Or Beast Machines.
Or any of the anime.
Cybertron isn't actually connected to Armada/Energon, no matter how hard Hasbro wants that idea to stick.
It’s because the earliest plans for Cybertron have it in proper continuity with Armada and Energon. Who the hell knows why the anime was written more of as a reboot than anything else.
Counter argument: FUCK YOU. SHOULDER CANNONS!
But it is.
The Japanese side wanted a new thing, so the English version had to come up with an explanation for why things were different, and it was decided that the plot hole threatening the universe just managed to fuck with time and space, and that's why things don't entirely match up.
They also gave a reason for bringing three kids on a voyage across space.
>and it was decided that the plot hole threatening the universe just managed to fuck with time and space, and that's why things don't entirely match up.
That was established after the fact via FunPub, because the show itself contradicts Armada/Energon far, FAR more than it gels with it.
Yeah, I know, but they managed to turn it around.
>Everything I don't like is a fanfic
