Third season is one big filler by itself. The events didn't happen in World Of Twelve, the main plot happens in Oropo dimension, which one not the part of the World of Twelve and it's lame.
France 3 honestly did the better job than Tot. He is the bad writer.

That's a fair way of putting it. Tots put the BoT so high up that they cut out the very world they were set in.

Feels like it's that way on the comic side too. There used to be lots of stories about other characters in the WoT but a lot got cut cancelled.

Ankama's now partially owned by a big media conglomerate, thanks to Tot outing one of the other founders. Their animation studios have been merged with Ellipsanime, the studio between such recent masterpieces as the CGI Garfield series, to become "more competitive". They're working on the next Garfield now, actually.

What I'm saying is Wakfu was the product of Ankama having tons of money and having to answer to no one and both of those things are gone. Ankama games is desperately searching for the successor to Dofus, their sole successful product, and trying to find it by dumbing down and lootboxing Waven, and Ankama's independence is gone. Even if you get another Wakfu season down the line, it's not gonna be something like the original Wakfu series was.

Abraca is dead, the shitty game from 2016 is all you'll ever get. Be thankful we at least got to see the great concept art.

According to people who worked on it the bulk of production actually ended in 2018. For some reason they just don't care about airing it. Possibly one of those transmedia thing where they'd planned to have shit to sell you but said shit is stuck in dev hell.

It was one of those "Tot would like to do it some day" things, even less likely to actually happen than Wakfu S4 or even Starfu.

Welsh & Shedar made me legitimately angry, I love the Dofus movie with all my heart and the trailer for this movie looked amazing.

I'll give it the rest of the year before I'm fully convinced it's dead. Fabrice posted pose corrections on Sept 2 and his other work on the show fairly recently, so I don't think its been shelved.

Yes, this summer’s release was the conclusion and ties into the OVAs.

I don’t think there’s much going on anymore besides DOFUS Manga and Ogrest (please please please for once don’t cancel this one). I miss all the different Wakfu Heroes. Almost all of them were more interesting than the BoT’s own comics.

Exactly this. Dofus was an unexpected word-of-mouth success and they milked it hard for years, throwing money blindly at projects that would never break even because Tot refused to pay a dime for marketing, convinced that they would sell themselves like Dofus did. Well guess what, practically no one heard about most of the things they released besides hardcore fans of the company and every single game they made flew completely under the radar and was forgotten and abandoned practically upon release. Can you imagine how soul-crushing that would be for the actual developers?

It’s a wonder that they lasted this long and achieved so much in their golden age. I don’t understand how it never got through Tot’s thick Iop skull that all of their amazing art, original setting, interesting characters and storylines failed one after the other not because they weren’t good enough, but because he refused to actually MARKET them.

I’m half-convinced that it’s one of those projects that keep going only because no one explicitly fired the team and the accounting person still writes the checks. One day Tot will look at the budget again and cut it off to make room for his next fancy.

Well, he’s *making it* mostly on his own (he had more help from Ankama regulars on the first two), but it’s still Ankama’s copyright and funding. If Tot stops paying him, he’ll stop making them I assume. Like fucking Tangomango.

The main cast have gone trough several arcs, 2 of them have childrens.
One movie litteraly had them fight Ogrest.
There are no more stories to tell with that cast.

Ankama's Welsh and Shedar cartoon was scrapped because their Japanese division (yes, Ankama bought a studio in Japan, because at that point they had SO MUCH Dofus money to burn it was ridiculous) did not follow neither suggestions nor orders. They'd get a script and character designs from France, decide that they know better (i.e. Japanese Ecaflips had no tails) and change things dramatically despite their inept French bosses repeatedly telling them to stop going offmodel or offscript. In the end, Ankama closed their Japanese division before it made anything of value, but not before it lost them so much money that you'd be set for life if you had it on your account. Ogrest's movie also had some trouble during it's production - he was supposed to be brown, not green, ffs.

And the wing-ears came out of nowhere IIRC.

They've turned down several shows, believe it or not.
