He watched his own show

Megafruit jammed up the ass.
Removal of toxins.
Brain enhancing helmet.
Just from that specific universe.

when they decided they wanted to turn the show into a continuous story, but not actually develop their characters.

>megafruit
temporary
>removal of toxins
was undone and the toxins weren't actually toxins
>brain enhancing helmet
don't remember this one

Where the fuck else can they take this show for another seven seasons? Jerry and Beth always had clear marital issues since S1, so I was shocked to see the show not only enter divorce territory so early on, but also resolve it in the very same season.

Who even knows what else they can do with the continuity? That’s why I’m hoping the S3 finale ending wasn’t pulling our leg, and that the writers really will try and go back to silly, high-concept sci-fi rigamarole. I just want my crazy grandpa and naive grandson adventures again.

it's not that he's become smarter.
It's more like he's continually adapted to crazy bullshit and become more accepting of the chaotic clusterfuck that is his life.

yeah i thought he was a ok character in season 1 but they turned him into a complete faggot by the end of season 2. god season 3 was really bad and forgettable

>the toxins were actually toxins
No, they were toxins by whatever the individual’s definition of “toxic” is. While you may not find some of the things exhibited by Toxic Rick and Morty, Rick and Morty would disagree.

I always thought that after being around Rick for so damn long and almost dying practically every other minute, he would be either forced to become better or die.

Anyone notice how Morty is really good with languages?
Nigga learns to speak tree people in like a week and during the shitty "Jerry's fucking an alien" episode he was able to speak that tritittied cunt's language.

>week
He was there for months.

He realized God isn't real then he took a shit on the bible

This was more or less confirmed in Vindicators 3. Morty knows drunk Rick well enough that he can counter all of his bullshit.

Still, that's pretty fucking outstanding for a kid with a learning disability, no one to help him, and nothing of reference to learn the language

Agreed. Also Morty should remember all the decision making processes he had during the clarity. He might not be able to pull himself from his parents house to the stock exchange again, make those calls, sound that confident but he remembers being that person and remembers at least the concepts of not the feelings of being that person.

>70 more episodes
>7 more seasons of Rick and Morty

genetics

Morty is like a technician while Rick is like an engineer. A talented technician can operate and fix everything an engineer builds, maybe even recreate the engineered things, but only an engineer has the talent to create things from scratch and that's where Rick is superior to Morty.

There a download mediafire or some such link for season 3?

Yeah

But you don't know it.

No you just can't have it.

Attached: raw.png (500x280, 205K)

Morty is the best character in the show.

it turns out it isn't the mega seeds that boost intellect. It's stimulating ones prostate. Evil morty figured that out too

Attached: l7nvax10rwk31.jpg (522x360, 25K)

Right, because you don't know it to give it.

I like this show despite the obnoxious fanbase and general stigma associated with it now, but boy did it go downhill in season 3.

All of the characters are so fucking hateable at this point. It's a problem I experience with a lot of comedy shows. The characters need to be likable or relatable to a certain degree in order for the audience to keep watching.

>flanderization

>they turned him into a complete faggot by the end of season 2
Are you guys just mad about Morty beginning to break loose in “Look Who’s Purging Now”? Have y’all not understood that he’s supposed to be picking up some traits from Rick as the series goes on? Sorry to break it to ya, but Morty’s not gonna stay the same anxious, shortsighted sidekick forever. The writers actually WANT him to change and become more confident and capable.

Also, the only S3 episodes I could argue as “bad” were “Vindicators 3” and maybe “The ABCs of Beth.” The season as a whole was still pretty damn solid.

Ironically Vindicators 3 was one of the only good episodes in the whole season.

How so? I wouldn’t say it was straight-up BAD, but it definitely felt like one of the weaker eps of the season.

Also, I wanna fuck Supernova and give her Collapsing Star babies.

One of the only ones with actual funny jokes, rather than just grimdark edgy wank.

But... the whole season was a healthy balance of grimdark edgy wank AND comedy. What, did you want something like—*gags*—Final Space?

being called a retard doesn't mean you are a retard

you should take hope from that, OP

Despite what Jerry said in the pilot, I’ve never gotten the impression that Morty is literally retarded or heavily autistic. Practically every episode starting with “Close Rick-counters” showed otherwise. It just seemed to me like he was socially awkward (explaining his lack of friends), and that he wasn’t trying hard enough or rising to his full potential in school.

And don’t try using pic related to counter my argument. I’m sure the basic arithmetic in a high school class was just because Dan, Justin, and the writers just thought it’d be funny to just keep the math as simple addition problems and call it a day.

lol

>how the fuck did he become so smart
by quoting Rick Sanchez, of course

but in all seriousness, does this mean Morty is becoming more and more like Rick or is it just me?

Final Space is SO bad at balancing comedy and drama. Olan Rogers and his crew can make some damn good epic and dramatic moments, but they’re almost always ruined with a forced joke every fucking time. Even a tearjerking, emotionally-scarring flashback like pic related still has to be cut short by more annoying quips from Gary or any other “comic relief” characters from Season 2.

Wrote themselves into a corner
Show grew smarter than the writing staff because brain drain
Tried to stay cannon to s1 with the seed up the butt made him passively smarter but didn't articulate it

Because now the entirety of this series is to create selfinsert "psychos" who are also smart to make the viewer feel better about themselves, because otherwise you couldn't write them as characters appealing to the average narcissistic millenial.
>beth= intelligent cold woman with untapped potential
>morty= quirky emotional intelligent guy with untapped potential
>summer= kinda rebel teenage girl whos also kinda smart with untapped potential
And with that the entire premise of an average family being tormented by some old guy's adventures goes to rubbish. Don't really know if it has some deeper plot purpose (rick slowly changing them), if its just my theory, if its because they simply couldn't come up with good stupid characters (s1 characters but with actual development) or if they are really all just still kinda stupid but being around rick has given them some experience we unwittingly mistake as actual smarts. I'm gonna stand with my theory

It wouldn't even surprise me if they manage to ruin Jerry the exact same way as well, probably turn him into some homage to fight club or some shit.

Attached: 1488110568072.jpg (325x300, 15K)

>Tried to stay cannon to s1 with the seed up the butt made him passively smarter
The Mega Seeds have never been brought up outside of Episode 1. What imaginary connections are you trying to make?

Attached: 85C6B443-E9D6-45EF-8DDF-8B79DF7CB71B.png (1920x1088, 2.51M)

That's what I'm saying they could have had a throw away line like that but instead decided to waste screen time on writing interns self insert that wasn't even any good and unfunny random shit as opposed to funny random shit.

God I unironically hope bushworld gets made into a series

my headcanon is that every now and then ricks should swap their morties or else the morty becomes too smart to be controlled like what happened with eyepatch morty

No

Because Morty is actually Rick.

>jerry was made to control the influx of intelligence over the human brain
>if you edit jerry out of the show and watch it your brain explodes

Why not?

Attached: 20BCF71B-A581-4330-AC34-8573D9E1EFDD.jpg (455x607, 55K)

isn't the simplest answer that Rick lied about how smart Morty is or can be? "A confident Morty can be a bad thing." If all Ricks believe that then it's in all Rick's best interest to shit on their Morty's. The only confirmation we have on what Mortys are capable of has come from Ricks.

Aside from everybody in the Smith family seeming more smug and hostile toward each other, Season 3 was still great and maintained the and quality of the entire show thus far. Give me an example of “unfunny random shit” from S3 that can be compared with “funny random shit” from seasons prior.

S3 was forgettable outside of pickle rick and schezwan sauce (which is actually a very versatile pepper I love it)

Jerry is the weak link , Rick was a hundred percent right about him.

morty's mind blowers was better than interdimensional cable 1 and 2 combined

I'd still rather have bushworld

So bad I wipee it from my brain
>>he doesn’t remember Vindicators 3
Is that the avengers shit bomb that ended with a logic cameo? God he's shit
>>or Toxic Rick and Morty
Nope
>>or Tales from the Citadel
That was good
>>there wasn’t a single memorable joke from “Morty’s Mind Blowers”
Nope
Meh

my condolences user, your brain is no more

they dropped the "Morty has a learning disability" after episode1. Heck, even in episode1 i never got the impression he was an idiot, even though everyone from the family acted like he did in the last few minutes of the episode.

The hero guy in vindicators acted with pity towards him because of the supposed disability that he has though, he can still be smart even while having that

That sounds like a (You) problem, user. Either build a stronger memory, or quit being such a cynic. Rick and Morty has yet to show any actual seasonal rot.

Attached: 823FFEE4-9EFE-4A40-A11C-E82F8C005832.jpg (3000x1688, 1.05M)

I think too many people here were so engulfed in the "the new female writers suck" meme to actually pay any attention to the season itself, critically

>y'all
opinion discarded

How is that everyone is completely retarded, but still related to Rick? How is Morty or Jerry's wife still that dumb?

rick is autistic

Pretty much.

I mean, either that or their brain is so small they're unable to recognize the signs of a character arc and think that any kind of change is flanderization. It's clear as day that the writers want to do some sort of role reversal, we already knew rick loves his family/has depression and we already knew that what's happened to morty has been driving him to become angry and manipulative. S3 was just an expansion of that, and done rather well too. Personally I thought it was really funny, and for any ep you could basically write an essay on the various motivations of each character and how they're changing. But mostly it had nothing less entertaining than s1 or 2, I think most people just haven't watched those two in a while.

This.
Also a reminder that Mike Lazzo almost didn't let Roiland play Morty, because he thought the whining schtick would get old. Hes the one who pushed for Morty to stand up for himself more.

People who liked the show because of its elements of an edgy power fantasy were mad at the therapist. They complained about bad writing as well as the "femal writers bad writers" meme, which in a game of telephone turned simply into "bad writers" as it spread. As such, people who hated the show but couldn't really get any traction because of the first two season latched onto it, along with the show itself becoming memetastic in pop culture.
Funny how that works.

That's the thing though, the canon ALWAYS insisted that Rick was in the wrong, that his own mindset was harming him, that he wasn't in control. It was just more subtle initially, and people latched onto rick as a result.
The writers didn't like that, and made it more obvious, and people who saw rick as a dumb power fantasy got pissed.
Morty always called Rick out, whenever Rick said the universe was crazy and bad, he replied that HE was the one who was actually crazy and bad. His adventuring consistently hurt everyone, and he even fucking attempted suicide. He was never meant as a relatable dark power fantasy.
You're right though, that meme plus the reddit and memey, gave people who always had an hateboner for this show something to spam to make it seem like s3 was shit and flopping. But reception elsewhere was as great as ever, it was even regarded as the better season we had so far. Some people weren't able to read where the narrative always intended to go I guess, sucks to be them.
I really hope the writers don't cave in and scrap everything that they had going on in s3, because it was promising in my opinion.

I can accept this.

I really doubt that the writers will ever cowtow to the viewers themselves, they´ll probably just use it to bolster the meta commentary in the writing.
Lots of good break downs by fellow anons showing The strengths the series has in its writing despite perception.
Like any good series i can´t guess where they´ll go but I believe it will be done well enough to be entertaining.
Look forward to season 4´s premiere, hope for the best but prepare for the worst reactions

nigger are you fucking stupid

Is Mike Lazzo really that notorious for his bad decisions or is Yea Forums just memeing? I remember anons shitting on him in a thread for another [adult swim] show.

There were only two good episodes from s3. The first one and the ricklantis mixup

You hang around with Rick, you either get smart or you die.

>muh “Season 3 SUCKED!!”
Anyone saying this should try giving the whole season a rewatch, since you guys probably just don’t remember it all that well. It’s been two years already. End this meme.

i have seen season 3 10 times because of adult swim reruns it the weakest season so far

I don't know about smart, but he's certainly become very jaded and wary about the usual happenstances that Rick drags him into. I really like what Morty's becoming.

its shit

no u

They said they were gonna go back to a style that was more like s1 and s2, they were gonna scrap continuity and the evil morty storyline, stuff like that, and I really hope that they don't. Can you imagine how boring the 70 episodes are gonna be without anything tying them together? Snore.
I hope they were kidding and mocking the people who criticized s3, but I don't think they were.
Either way they always had some semblance of a story going on in the background, like who's c137 Rick's original morty, for example. But I am very interested in how morty is gonna develop to be just like rick, while rick slowly betters himself and realizes how much he has fucked up. Well, not yet, he's not gonna acknowledge that the real problem isn't his intelligence but his choices anytime soon. He came close to acknowledging that he loves morty many times though, same as how morty came close to offing him. Anyway, the potential for many intense plot points is there definitely, but I also want them to keep them in the background and still look episodic on the surface, like what s3 was doing. S3 was the perfect balance.
>imagine not liking rest and ricklaxation, the whirly dirly conspiracy, morty's mindblowers, the mad max episode, the vindicators and pickle rick

Mortimer Smith, Sr.

You know, that part made no fucking sense to me. Why the fuck would a machine like that remove toxins based on each person’s individual definition? Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense if it just had a set of personality traits or whatever that were classified as “toxic”? And how could it determine someone’s definition of toxicity so quickly? They were in there for like 5 seconds.

what manga is that from

Bad writing? They realize they couldn't just have a literal retard as the deuteragonist. Or maybe Roiland, wise as he is, wanted exactly that, and they had to talk him out of it.

that entire thing was just people being dicks because people like to be dicks at morty

I can't speak for others, but from my point of view, it was really the only way Season 2 could end.

And I thought that Pickle Rick was bad.

It's pretty obvious when he became smart

What do you mean by that? Are you saying that it always seemed like Season 2 was leading up to Rick sacrificing himself by giving himself into the Galactic Federation? I know this show mainly uses minor continuity, but I’m pretty sure the Galactic Federation was only briefly brought up in “Mortynight Run” and nothing more. I’d like to know what led you to this conclusion.

As early as close Encounters of the Rick Kind make it obvious that Rick was heading down a path of self sacrifice. It may not have always been to the Federation Government or the Council of Ricks, but Rick was going to sacrifice himself for Morty and his family at some point. In fact, Rick does exactly that in Season 2's opener, Rick in Time. Rick sacrifices himself for Morty because he knows his Grandson deserves better.

So yeah, Season 2 opens with Rick literally sacrificing himself and ends with Rick literally sacrificing himself.

NO it can't be kids how can kids like the thing I like I don't like the thing anymore

>actually does it irl

Are you certain? Cause the Rick in the season opener doesn't hesitate. As soon as he hears that Morty dropped his collar, he gives him his own. As far as he knew, the collar was lost. He was going to die, but Morty would get to live. Rick was always going to sacrifice himself. There was no other way for S2 to end.

Attached: [pseudo] Rick and Morty S02E01 A Rickle in Time [1080p] [h.265].mkv_snapshot_19.33_[2019.09.17_00.23 (1916x1076, 144K)

exactly so. unlike when he got himself captured, he had no plan.

The speed at which he gave up though speaks to his intention still. He might not have had any plans but he knew that if his death meant Morty's survival it was an outcome he'd chase every time. don't bash Rick's resolve just because your ego is so fragile.

This episodes shows that every human in those universes are wearing those collars and are forced to eat pills n shit. This is why Rick is constantly pulling one liners and zingers cause he's trying to please unity.

Attached: tumblr_pca9fineiy1w8qu2ro1_500.gif (500x455, 2.03M)

If this is a reference to S3, know it goes over me. But in S2, the only ones in that verse are the cats. Which doesn't not change what I said. In S2, Rick sacrificed himself at the start, and sacrificed himself at the end.

As in he doesn't constantly bitch about it on his social media.

Boco if you're reading this you're dumb as shit, Rick wasn't "the most invincible he's ever been" in season 3, if anything his weaknesses were the most clearly defined they've ever been. Morty, and his own emotions and mindset.
To the point that everyone, INCLUDING jerry and morty, were able to use him because of them at one point or another. Remember Whirly dirly? What's invincible about a guy who's easily convinced to go do an adventure with the person he hates the most just because his nephew asked him/he was sad (but not really, because he manipulated him so he'd leave him alone for one day)? What's invincible about a guy that'll never be able to be happy because he can't confront the fact that he's the reason of his shortcomings, and not his intelligence (pickle rick)? He may have not outright failed much, but he didn't succeed, he was merely getting by, being bested emotionally at every turn (vindicators), and being no better off for it. We only got 10 episodes, need I remind you? And this was a transitional season, they needed to establish the character motivations and such more clearly. And he did get bested physically in the finale as you said, so. I honestly don't know what you wanted.

Morty actually has developed though. In the beginning he was a naive kid who had fun and looked up to his super smart mad scientist grandfather. But as time went on, he realized what a fucked up shithead Rick really was and became cynical and kind of desensitized to his antics.

Remember when he found out he was basically a stealth shield for Rick to remain undetected? At first he hated him for it but he eventually realized that in his own fucked up way, Rick still cared about him and his family.

...Wasn't the joke about the therapist that she accurately analyzed Rick but he and Beth were all "whatever" about it?

Yes, it's that easy to understand. The therapist was spot on but beth and rick are too flawed to accept that it's their fault and they're responsible for their suffering, so they pretended she was full of shit even though morty and summer wanted the sessions to continue. However some autists got mad at the therapist because they thought rick was their power fantasy and "the evil female writers robbed them of it".

So what's the word? Niggers? Faggots?

Cucks.

I was trying to write ‘baka,’ but I guess the mods have something against “zoomer speak.”

Technician here. I like this analogy. Making sure something an engineer builds can stay built, and improving on designs that have a non-obvious flaw is my bread and butter. Morty does that for Rick on a few occasions.

he's a fourteen year old that looks like a twelve year old.
He's short, has a generally really rounded design and is constantly suffering.
he makes your brain want to protect him

Don't you think Rick, being the smart person that he is, would know that the seeds have the potential to make his nephew smart? Sounds like a bullshit speculation to me

Oh... spot on user

He isn't a retard, just a slow learner and was put in a standard school instead of anything to accomodate.
When you have aliens trying to eat your ass either literally or figuratively every time you and your hyper-smart cunt grandpa go on a trip, even a retard would pick up some things or die in the process.
Also, Rick's genetics. No matter if he has a retard on the level of Jerry, can't quite beat Rick, I suppose, especially if Rick off-camera did something to Morty and Summer to have them be more Beth's kids than Jerry's. Y'know, as insurance that they won't be terribly stupid and would actually do alright in life.

He’s like Morty, but evil.

My completely not backed up theory is that OUR morty is the real evil morty, and evil morty is just.. some asshole morty, but not the true evil one. When evil morty and rick finally meet and realize he's rick's original morty, our morty will kill him in front of him out of jealousy and completely snap.

Morty is cute! CUTE!

And I hope Morty loves me

Attached: Masturbating Morty.gif (307x307, 4K)

He isn't

He reads good books.

He's Rick's original Morty. At some point, Rick abandoned him and jumped to a new reality where he replaced a dead version of himself like in Rick Potion #9, then moved back in with the Smith's.

Do we really trust Justin Roiland with a kids' show?

Attached: Homer worried.jpg (639x475, 18K)

[citation needed]

Rick remembers picking up baby morty, but that's impossible because Beth said he hasn't been around for 20 years. And Evil Morty wanted revenge on our rick specifically. It's fairly easy to connect the dots from this.

I like the theory that 'evil morty' is a Morty trying everything in his power to be the true Morty by taking power.

I suppose that could be possible

When Rick and Morty hopped timelines, Rick said he'd already done it a couple of times.

That'd be less interesting because it doesn't tie evil morty to our protagonists in a way that feels close and personal
This however... I can't wait for the episode that will address this. Rick sometimes talks about how a "cocky morty" is bad news, and notice how serious he gets whenever he's betrayed... I think it's all connected and Rick really didn't want to leave his morty but rather he had to, maybe he thinks he killed him and still feels guilty, while evil morty just wants revenge. I don't even think Rick was an asshole to evil morty, he probably started that with our morty to stay emotionally detached, but by the rule of contrast he's probably the Least Evil rick in the multiverse, we already know he's the only one in the multiverse who actually cares about his family, so it's not too farfetched.

Not gonna lie, I’m shocked that those two words haven’t also been banned. “Yea Forums culture” is fucking stupid.

Attached: a family sitcom with an alien twist.jpg (2048x1536, 336K)

it thought it did what THE BOYS actually did

Omitting the fun eps, plot:

>S4:

Season theme is the conflict between Morty and Rick beginning to bubble up because Morty tried to separate himself from Rick. High concept sci-fi rigamarole with the other characters serving as the naive happy Morty replacement.

Season conclusion either has them make up and hug it out after some ridiculous non-evil-morty shit forces them together, despite that their relationship falling apart. They need each other.

>S5-6:

Two year Timegap. Morty graduates from school and Jerry wants him to go to high school, Rick wants him to drop out. Use this to reignite family drama.

Season ending twist is Rick fucked it up so bad that he's leaving Beth and Rick behind, and he's moving with Morty to a universe with another Rick and Morty who he's got some leverage over, so now there are two Ricks and two Morties.

Reintroduce evil Morty, but make Tammy and federation the focus. Mr. Poopybutthole's cat dies.

>S7-9:

Pull an Archer and change the status quo every season dramatically. With a second universe to play with where the family has been left reeling, Jerry starts investigating Rick's science shit and becomes a major player too, somehow.

Increasing conflict between Evil Morty and crew. Start killing off characters, and bring back ANYONE who's been named. Focus on a few alt-earth-worlds instead of many. Evil Morty is killed.

Kill the original Jerry, Morty two, and Beth two off as a gut punch to end season 9.

>S10

100% Drama shit. The surviving Beth 1 and Jerry 2 now hate rick, and get together. The Summers fight to the death, one loving the other hating Rick. Original Rick and Morty fight.

Original Morty wins. Time passes.

Mr. Poopybutthole's funeral. Morty inherits his journal. We get the "real" Rick backstory as a 3 episode series, at least as MPB saw it. Morty cries, he needs a Rick. He teleports to the universe with second Rick. He becomes his Morty. They portal away to go on an adventure.

End show.

Attached: Are You Fucking Kidding Me_meme.jpg (488x480, 21K)

Maybe. But it's possible that only the aliens will resemble Roiland's signature style. The human characters may actually look more human this time around, likely as a way to help emphasize the four main characters' alien nature and make them stand out.

We'll just have to wait and see if Solar Opposites throws any nods or Easter eggs that imply a shared universe, which is likely since Rick and Morty already has such a vast universe full of endless dimensions. Gravity Falls is already included.

Sounds shit, I don't like drastic change, we need time to settle sometimes so we can enjoy what we currently have
Morty doesn't act straight when he's angry and disturbed beyond a certain limit. Did you forget he almost killed Rick in the premiere? He fucked ethan up not because of summer but because he ruined Morty's "day off" that he worked so hard to get, going as far as to manipulate Rick for it.

I ain’t readin’ all that

I like the ending but Season 7-9 sound like filler

Doesn't sound pissy really, sounds like he wanted to work with his buddy on something else as well and was kind of sad he wasn't approached. Then again that's my own personal interpretation of it.

I don't know who i'd fuck harder, the literal dancing titty monster or the galaxy woman.

Dan didn’t have to bring it up during a public interview, though.

Attached: C9E6D0FE-AB84-4AD7-B7E9-B7F0C320897A.jpg (1024x768, 156K)

I think Justin doesn't realize that his humor sucks without other people's work grounding it. I don't know if Dan was the one doing that for rick and morty, but we'll find out once this concept airs I guess.

My completely not backed up theory is that the Morty we follow is "The Morty-est Morty".

But not in the way we think. We're told that being the Rick-est Rick is to be the 'smartest', and that the Morty-est Morty is the, well, 'Morty-est'.

I say those interpretations are misleading. I hazard to say that the Rickest Rick is in fact the Rick with the most 'self-destructive' (or something of the like), which is the one quality that 'our' Rick has a near monopoly on and while we do see many Ricks miserable or taken advantage of, 'our Rick' is independent yet super-duper suicidal. All of Rick's knowledge just leads to the same miserable dour outlook of existential dread and misery, super self-destructive.

On the other hand, I believe the true essence of the Morty-est Morty is the opposite, or 'destructiveness'. We see how sociopathic and monstrous Morty can be when he detoxifies himself, as well as how more jaded and dangerous he becomes the more gets used to expressing himself (Purge, Whirly Durby-whatever, Detox, etc). Morty always ends up deconstructing people (or having Rick do that for him) and ending up jaded about those around him, realizing flaws in everything and learning not to give much shits about anything and makes it a point to do that to others (unlike Rick who wallows in misery).

You could even get all stupid philosophical and quote Nieztsche and consider 'Ricks' to be the 'Master Morality' and 'Mortys' to be the 'Slave Morality'. Master Morality is dominating and powerful, but Slave Morality is much more dangerous and hateful.

FML this post.

Attached: Gun_75d477_6762112.jpg (700x770, 114K)

First of all, I love you, and you're definitely onto something here. When you quoted Nietzsche I almost fainted, I didn't even think of that but it makes sense.
I always thought of it like the Rick-iest rick is the most sensitive and emotional one, the one who loves his family and forms bonds (he's been shown to be the only rick doing that), the most "good one" let's say. While the Morty-iest morty I always thought was the most brutal, angry and jaded, the one with the most potential to be evil and not care about emotional attachments. They don't have to coexist in the same universe, and it's reasonable that our Rick (all ricks actually) wouldn't know what being the truest rick would really imply. But my theory really has no backing, it's just me speculating like an autist for hours.
Yours seems more solid, and I like it. I like the implications it has for the future of the series.
But I do feel like emotions are involved in the equation, as they were really hammered down in s3. Almost every episode had some variation of Rick admitting-but-not-quite that he loves and cares about Morty, and for morty it was the exact opposite.

>two years

Attached: 1564104063738.png (482x436, 175K)

Emotions have a play on it. I put the words "self-destructive" and "destructive" in quotations because it's a close synonym but not exactly what I'm thinking of. I think that's why they use 'Rick-est' and 'Morty-est' as adjectives to begin with: It's not one specific quality or emotion but rather a mindset, perspective or personality.

Rick clearly lets his emotions interfere with his logic, the detoxify episode clearly shows. Morty seems well and good with getting rid of all of those bothersome weights, so yeah, emotion is clearly a part of this discussion.

Also, an important thing to remember is that even as monstrous as Detox'd Morty was, he still knew deep down that it all wasn't right, as he 'forgot' to hang up. That's a peculiar mystery for this theory, but it may still be explained by it.

Attached: Some+day_4a6ded_6714637.jpg (1200x1600, 274K)

That sounds like some dunning kruger shit bro

Ah I get it, yeah you're right!
I still think about it by the way, it's a bit of a mystery to me why exactly he didn't hang up. Did he feel so confident that it betrayed him, or was it intentional? Did he miss Rick/his old life? Maybe we'll understand it more when we get more episodes and finally have more context for all of this.

Huh?

I can’t argue with the facts.

Attached: A74C3240-F769-44FA-966E-D9641A864A2A.png (725x500, 379K)

>beth and rick are too flawed to accept that it's their fault and they're responsible for their suffering

I think this is also true of all the people who idolized Rick as a power fantasy, which is why they got so buttfrustrated at this episode in particular. These people tend to be above average in mental ability, but are bordering on retarded emotionally with poor social skills and immature philosophical views - probably diagnosed with ASD, but more likely just lacking mentors and peers thus stunted by solitary development. Rick is the same, but basically a teenage wizard (has the power to do whatever he wants, but only when he feels like it), who is admired in spite of his failings. It's easy to look at Rick and self-identify, imagining their life could be like that if only they weren't surrounded by "idiots", but the therapist shatters that illusion and makes it clear that their dysfunctionality is the cause of their problems, not the people around them. Like Rick, they aren't willing to swallow that pill either, because it requires a level of personal responsibility that they do not possess.

All you said is correct, and let me add that not only it isn't other people that are responsible for their shortcomings, but it also isn't their intelligence, and they seem to believe. I think what the therapist said that episode was actually really insightful on the characters but also the people who idolize them misunderstanding them, so if a person got mad at that moment it says something about them more than it says about the show, because she was correct, and if you watched the show analytically you would know.

bump

Furries BEGONE

So...basically what would the show with two Ricks be like and vice versa for two Mortys?

The mortiest rick would kill his morty and the rickiest morty would get along just fine with his rick and maybe even bond

These are leaks from season 4. These episodes were originally gonna be in s3 but they ran out of time to deliver, so S3 aired as 10 episdoes with a weird episode 10 end (which wasnt originally gonna be an ending), and the other 4 episodes (which this art is from) didnt get aired/finished. They are the episodes moved to s4.

I understand that much, but then this is promotional content for s4 is it not? I've never seen it, is it new?

It's a leak from someone who works in toy production.

Ah alright then I'm just dumb and these are probably pretty old, sorry. Thanks for sharing though, we haven't seen much from s4 at all yet considering it airs in two months

Oh they arent, they were posted a few days ago by a leaker.

well I think the mods are just banning people that use the n-word, and they probably don't want an analogous word to take it's place maybe?

I see. I haven't been here in a while so I feel out of the loop when it comes to all of this, thanks for explaining.
The concept themselves feel... wacky. I hope pickle rick didn't set a precedent of "rick turns himself into x" scenarios, I hope those are just alternate versions and not our protagonists. We'll see.

It was weird how they brought them back only to not use them

but flanderisation would have him going in the opposite direction

this was a pretty good explanation

I recall Dan & Justin stating that they don’t want to retread their steps or rush through the few overarching stories the show does have. It’s why it will have taken three whole seasons for Mr. Meeseeks to make another major appearance (), and also why Evil Morty is used in small doses.

It makes sense and it's a wise move, thank god they got renewed for 70 episodes so they have all the time they need now to hopefully deliver something decent. When do you think they'll drop a trailer? I know it'll probably be at least another month but I'm getting impatient.
When s3 still had to come out we got a teaser animatic a couple of months before the premiere, so what gives

He lives in Rick and Morty, all the things he sees is Rick and Morty. When he sleeps, his dreams are Rick and Morty. He's seen more, and will continue to see more hours of Rick and Morty than any other single person ever could, because he has watched it from the moment he was born, and will watch it the moment he dies.

i like this show but man i hate how fuckin nuts some fans are, i just hope thoe season 4 chills Beth a little and stops raping Jerry or see them less personally cuz the best episodes are when Rick and Morty are the sole focus

Attached: 1515124337077.jpg (1920x1080, 823K)

you know what i dont fucking get? why did Beth choose Summer instead of Morty in that Morty mindblower episode, Mothers will always prefer their male son over the female one, and the fact that Morty is younger makes it even more confusing, wouldnt you want to choose the kid that will live the longest?

Well, we already have a clip with /ourguy/ Taika Waititty guest starring as an alien app developer: youtube.com/watch?v=VlgZi1UHk_E

I think, in general, promos for TV shows tend to come about a month before the season’s scheduled air date, so the S4 trailer could drop during Primal’s premiere week, most likely on Friday, October 11th, the night of its final two episodes.

However, it’s even MORE likely that the trailer'll premiere during Rick and Morty’s New York Comic Con panel the weekend prior, with an official YouTube upload soon after.
