Classical is a vast tradition that contains many things popular music doesn't have or can't match. Virtuosity, harmony, clarity, beauty, sublimity, structure, what have you. But there's a varied timbral and overt rhythmic aspect and earthy immediacy and folksy relatableness in pop music that is less present in classical. So it depends on what you value. Most of my listening is classical because I find its vast and deep exploration for effect of the fundamentals of music melody, harmony, structure etc. endlessly beautiful and appealing. At the most important moments, my wedding, my funeral, I'd want classical music played, which is one measurement of value. But I wouldn't go out dancing with friends to classical music like I do to at techno and house music nights, and there are plenty of folk and pop songs that I like to listen to when drunk as comfort food.

Social status indicators and male/female relations are fucked up beyond recognition to the point where “incels” are a recognized subculture taken seriously by world governments after high profile incidents of mass-murder spurned by lack of pussy.

The last time we, as a species, were healthy and trending in the right direction was prior to World War 1. If we could go back to 1912 and do things over, civilization would be light years ahead of where we are now. It’s no coincidence that the music of that era (Schoenberg, Bartok, Stravinsky, Webern, Mahler, Debussy, Berg, Scriabin, Ravel, etc.) has yet to be matched in quality in the century since.
