they change depending on what body he's in
also I think the writers never wanted to throw away his original conception as an edgy OC dreamed up by a mutant boy
Something something cyclop's family is all he'll ever be remembered for.
He's in the new Hickman run, right?
HIS power is that he's a template.
He steals others' powers, bit like Rogue, but with modularity.
I mainly remember from the cartoon he's made of like T-1000 goo that only Cyclops can hurt?
Also something something psychic maybe? Shoots beams from the diamond on his head? Fuck, you're right, I have no idea.
Yup.
Ya as a fabulous gay iceman like parody and million clones or some shit
With Thunderbird's powers
? He's just fast and strong?
Being Fabulous!
Well, according to that shitty mobile fighting game Contest of Champions, he can shoot energy beams, regenerate and kick you with his tentacle
19th century schizoid man
He pushed charles xavier down a flight of stairs.
He has a weaker version of Apocalypse's base power set(minus celestial tech). So shapeshifting and regeneration.
Sinister gained other powers via body modification/ mad science.
Whatever he needs it to be. Generic energy and matter manipulation. Mad scientist level skills that border on magic. Thunderbird's DNA apparently. Oh, and he's a Victorian era elitist with a penchant for foppery.
>YOUR ESSENCE
Ok, focus. Mr. Sinister is a genius in genetic manipulation, he was altered by Apocalypse plus his own modifications, so he's more impervious to damage, stronger than an average human, can control his body mass to a degree, etc, etc. So in short, evil scientist who alters his own body.
He knows what your future holds.
All we really know so far
I'm sorry to tell you this user but I fear that you and I are probably the only ones who caught that reference.
His power is being so overdesigned that it makes comic readers think he's important
It's not what powers he has that matters, but rather what he's done with them that do
right now he is a colony, his own species, and there are members with different powers
in general, he swaps bodies, the bodies have different bodies
he almost always has this 2 powers, telepathy, and "complete indivual control over every cell of his body", which was the classic apocalypse power, and it allows him to shapeshift, heal very quickly and not age.
he has bodies that have an xgene, but originally he is a british human, contemporary of darwin, biologists, that was tampered by apocalypse because apocalypse thought he would be useful. he used to be a servant of apocalypse, he experimente with the dna of Jean and Cyclops to create a mutant powerful enough to kill Apocalypse and free himself from being his servant. That mutant was Cable in our dimension, or XMan in the Age of Apocalypse one.
right now he is much more powerful than apocalypse
the bodies have different powers I mean
This doesn't make sense, Essex was born in the fucking Victorian era.
Just means he made a new body for himself with Thunderbird's x-gene.
genetic manipulation
He was never a mutant but since Hickman said he's one of his favorites mutants then he gave him mutant powers, the X-gene of Thunderbird, one of the first dead X-Men.
> and kick you with his tentacle
That's called a penis.
Must...go down...stairs...AAAAAAAHHHH!
It's ok.
>also I think the writers never wanted to throw away his original conception as an edgy OC dreamed up by a mutant boy
It's a shame because that backstory fits him much better than what we ended up with, he's such an over the top villain that he only works when writers remember to play that up. When they try to play him straight he just falls flat.
Neither does Marvel.
He's comics orochimaru
>right now he is much more powerful than apocalypse
His copies have been killed pretty easily since they first popped up. He doesn't seem strong.
This. It took me a long time to warm up to him because I mainly knew him from the early 90's when he was still being played as this evil master manipulator who's five steps ahead of everyone and speaking like a second-rate Bond villain. I never understood why people liked him.
Very valid comparison.
i'm glad gillen got the super campy Sinister who's still in that style back desu. It's not literally the kid acting like he's cool but it has that kinda spirit
In the real world. people that are sick with cancers and other diseases are usually caused by genes that have been mutated. Scientists now that have crispr gene editing where they take the gene from a healthy person and inject it into the mutated gene of a sick person. this is how the first person with HIV was cured.
It would be cool if they have something that cured mutants like crispr in the X-Men comics.
>But I don't want to cure mutants, I want to turn people into dinosaurs
First time I saw Mr. Sinister, I thought he was just some guy that poached Colossus' look and threw some tassels on.
>It would be cool if they have something that cured mutants like crispr in the X-Men comics.
They've done that several times already, you filthy casual.
Silly camp gay Sinister (and Hickman's obsession with it) is retarded as fuck and ruined the character.
The whole point of Sinister is that he's the fucking boogyman. He is a mutate (artificially mutated human not a fucking mutant) and wants mutants to rule the world and him as the ruler.
He's also hardcore as fuck, basically the type of villain who isn't a pussy like Magneto and LIVES to do horrible, nightmare fuel type things to people. Fucker has his own private mass murderer squad that he uses that fucking crippled half the X-Men, has a psychic parasite who used Polaris as a meat puppet, tortured and terrorized Cyclops and Havok as kids, created a clone who successfully infiltrated the X-Men and then repeatedly tried to kill the clone when she had Scott's kid and was of no use to him. And then tried to kill X-Factor, with him attempting to erase Maddrox Prime from existence so that Fallen Angels Maddrox would be the new Prime Maddrox and force Polaris to submit to being a host for Malice again after Malice possessed Havok and tried to kill Lorna rather than submit to being potentially permanently stuck in Lorna's body. Oh and using an unwilling Gambit as his personal mole in the X-Men.
Sinister is supposed to be scary as fuck and the ultimate nightmare villain. Not a snippy faggot ass sodomite who makes clones of himself because he's a vain pretty boy and who likes it when Carol femdoms him.
He was literally imagined as being what a little boy imagined was the ultimate villain. That's why he's ridiculous. Playing him as "the ultimate nightmare villain" doesn't work because he was a character who was specifically designed not to be taken seriously.
Are you also one of those people that swears Apocalypse isn't a jobber?
There's no reason why he can't do horrible things and be a posing sodomite.
>h-how dare my bondage-dressing, lipstick-wearing, catty bitch villain be portrayed as effeminate!
>Are you also one of those people that swears Apocalypse isn't a jobber?
Not the same user, but he's no more or less a jobber than any other big X-Men villain. People wrongly think he's meant to be a Darkseid- or Thanos-tier villain and he looks bad in comparison to them.
defeating the whole city where the sinister species lives is much harder than beating apocalypse
xavier thinks he beat sinister, but one of the secrets says sinister isnt actually being mindcontroled and is playing xavier
>People wrongly think he's meant to be a Darkseid- or Thanos-tier villain
That's because he literally sells himself as this.
That's the problem with Apocalypse. There's a massive disconnect between his concept and his execution. In practice he's a pretty run of the mill villain and kind of an inconvenience rather than a legitimate existential threat. Even his own flunky Sinister has been able to make a greater impact and prove himself as a bigger threat.
Even after threat-escalation turned him into another world-conqueror villain, he's not a threat on a cosmic scale like them, and doesn't try to be outside of one unpopular event.
He has the ability to somehow walk through rooms without those shoulder ribbons getting caught on everything
>I never understood why people liked him.
He is connected with the history of mutantkind. If you like those kinds of stories like the X-Men Legacy stuff by Carey or Further Adventures of Cyclops/Phoenix that all deals with this type of shit he is kind of the perfect villain.
Well now he's a good guy, lets see if this sticks.
looting and polluting.
It's a shame Apocalypse it tied to Earth so hard
If he legitimately fucked up another planet once in a while he'd have more street cred
His powers? Able to not notice how silly the name Mr Sinister is.
hes some kind of space dracula.
How can he be a jobber when he's asserting dominance?
He's flamboyantly goth.
He has the power to be sinister.
He's just a sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania.
>uchihamadara.txt
If he's such a genius then why the need to get Scott laid? He could've gone trueborn shit instead of freebirth.
>edgy OC
Everything starts out as this.
Power Extreme!
Is that Neclord?
Okay, now what's Cable's mutant ability?
i always thought he was just a cyborg or something
Same as his mom and his alt time line siblings.
Hickman is just taking Gillen's Sinister to its logical conclusion.
I just like my villains to be actually threatening instead of silly. Even Nimrod in this series borders on that.
Telepathy and Telekinesis, but he needs to devote 99% of his powers on keeping his TO Virus in check so he uses guns instead. When he does use his telepathy and TK, it risks his TO Virus running out of control.
i agree he should be a complete boogeyman.
im fine w the gay so long as hes properly terrifying. the idea that any xmen didnt kill sinister on sight in his new story is fucking w me.
No I don't have a problem with him having an X-gene grafted onto himself.
I have a problem with that gene coming from someone who was like a century away from being born yet.
his intelligence is too downplayed. hes craftier than sinister and more advanced than the entire planet by far. he should be a more involved more dangerous high evolutionary. there should be convoluted hell to walk through before you even get to apocalypse but his plans are always too stupid and upfront the way theyre written. the details of his powerset and tech, traits, etc should have him well beyond sinister, darkseid and steppenwolf style but w more amusement from him at sinisters attempted betrayals
Apoc suffers from his own popularity. Being used so much in cartoons, games, movies people expect a lot more from him. Plus being associated well the Celestials actually made him look worse because it makes people think he would be weak without their tech. Plus the tech seems to be pretty shit compared to actual celestials. Did ever have Higher points to beating up Thor and killing Stryfe?
He obviously didn’t graft John’s x-gene to himself before he was born.
His power is being sinister
But how does that work when he has to sleep?
even after the explanation of what his powers are ..he still seems like a jobber. what is stopping wolverine from chopping him up?
Nothing, another clone will pop up a second later though.
Why doesn't he call himself Dr Sinister?
Based Hickman seems to be playing him up right, so far.
You mean Nate Grey?
Passively
They shouldnt've, that sounds amazing
He doesn't have a Ph.D
I always thought it so interesting that Random had the same Power set as Apocalypse and ended up being a young child who made himself look like how a teenager thinks action movie stars should look.
