because if you care you buy quickly
Doesn't help when you're coming in after it's been published.
I was gonna check instocktrades whenever my financial situation becomes stable again
Now im scared to, it's been over a year and I still had many epic colllections left to order
Sounds like you weren't a fan and therefore don't deserve it desu
ive got around 10 of these there unbeatable on value for money
Here's a list of what's still available (and where)

Wondering whether to buy these or the masterworks?
Any ideas?
epic's don't usually cover the stuff that masterworks have already put out.
they jump around vol # to volume # to collect stuff that hasn't been collected before.
epics are better cash value, since masterworks are fucking expensive
People who buy collection are a niche inside of a niche.
Although seeing how many things are sold out makes me rething my statement.
the only Epic Collections I have been collecting have been the Moon Knight ones, and I have kept an eye on when new ones are getting release so I have all three of the current ones
just buy a nice tablet and get marvel unlimited. it's cheaper and has all these runs already.
There isn't really a choice.
On the whole, Masterworks are $75 hardcovers that collect around 10 issues. Epics are $40 softcovers that collect around 20 issues. Masterworks progress through each series chronologically, while Epics release their volumes out of sequence.
Lets use Spider-Man as an example.
The MMW Spider-Man volumes are annual releases, and each contains about a year of the series. So the comics are released more or less at the rate they came out. There are 20 ASM volumes released so far with the 21st coming this year, with a cumulative page count of 5,584.
The Spider-Man Epics get two releases a year, and each contains about a year and a half of the series. So every year they reprint about three years worth of ASM. There have been 12 ASM volumes released so far with two more coming early next year, with a cumulative page count of 6,672.
The MMW program launched in 1987, went on hiatus and returned fulltime in 2004. The Epic Collections have only been going since 2013 and have reprinted more Spider-Man in six years than the Masterworks have in over thirty.
If you're a completionist the Epics are the only option, they're the only way you're actually going to get all of these comics. Not only are they released faster, but the Masterworks have low print runs and most of them are permanently out of print.
The real competition with the Epics is the Omnibus line. But their schedule is more erratic (often tied to movie releases) and reprints come rarely.
>most of them are permanently out of print.
this is happening with a lot of the epic's now too. There was actually a Marvel sale at canada's largest book retailer a few weeks ago, and I was deeply saddened when I realized that so much of my wishlist went oop
Epics do come back into print from time to time though, they're just not announced.
I know how you feel though, I tried to score on the same sale but everything I wanted was either out of print or a presale.
Not too surprised to see this one going Oop with the show announced and this volume being the real start to the Moench/Sienkiewicz run. Instead of waiting for
2-3 years for it to come back in stock with the release of the show, I just went down to my LCS and scooped up a bunch of the floppies for a couple bucks each
because I'm sure those will start disappearing soon as well.
Smart user, do you think they'll ever do Epics of the Marc Spector series?
i'm so mad I didn't pick up the Mutant Genesis epic when I had the chance.
i already nabbed a copy but they are doing a Demon Bear reprint very soon which is nice
Just put in an order for four of these through IST:
Spider-Man Vol 15
Hulk Vol 2
Hulk Vol 3
X-Men Vol 5
All four are OOP but IST luckily has some in stock.
Unfortunately even though it's never been more affordable to get this stuff, print media has also never been closer to the verge of death
X-Men vol 1 and ASM: Cosmic Adventures are coming back in stock before the end of the year, hoping Thor: To Wake the Mangog will follow, it's the only OOP one I badly need.
Goblin's Last Stand is the big one i want coming back. Don't really see it happening soon since the omni was released though.
Eat a dick, digitalfag.
