What do you guys think of my reading list. It's mostly recommendations I got from friends and online. I like Space Opera's so it's weighted toward those.

Casual as fuck.
Yeah I'm new to comics. Anything you would add?
Rocket Raccoon, Angela and Asgardians really don't belong here.
Not a fan of those titles? anything you would add?
Anything you would add to the literary section?
Nexus
Planetary
I don't know if you really want this but here:
Bacchus
Peplum
Perramus
From Hell
Thanks I'll check those 2 out. I heard about Planetary on comic tropes but not the others.
How is the art in those?
>How is the art in those?
The first book of Nexus is black and white, but the rest are in color. The art is solid.
The rest are all black and white. Bacchus and From Hell are drawn by Eddie Campbell, which some people don't like (I love him, personally). There is a colored version of From Hell currently coming out, but I think black and white works best.
Peplum has very expressive cartooning. Perramus looks great and is painted with odd textures, but it's in Spanish. The complete English edition will be coming out April 2020. You have plenty to read until then.
You may not enjoy these at all, but they are some of my favorites after many years of comics. I'll post more art for the others in a bit, if you want.
Cool. Thx

Wow, this is some good quality bait
Why are black and hire comics the best way to read comics
That's not bait. Its stuff I got recommended
OP read the Thor Tenth Realm Original Sin mini series.
It's required for reading Asgard's assassin.
The best recommendation is that you should just drop comics altogether and just focus on science fiction novels.
Why?
Because the current comics industry is a cancerous cesspool full of capecancer obsessed shitters, and retards pushing their ultraliberal leftist propaganda to the detriment of the audience that ACTUALLY reads comics.
It's better to just find true literature to read, ignore comics and watch from afar as the industry sinks into oblivion.
Don’t listen to him. It’s just a meme to hate on comics.
>science fiction novels
any recs?
Anything published before 1980. It's where the masterworks are.
Edgar Rice Burroughs is basically the father of scifi and the granddad of fantasy, so he's always good.
Some deep lore shit, most big name sci-fi authors worth mentioning, including the super hard guys, were huge fans of Princess of Mars, and some deeper lore shit? Tolkein's orcs borrow a lot from the more raging asshole Green Martians. Which is why big green and tusky got so popular for orcs later, as well as the honorable warrior shit, people started readopting the bits Tolkien had left out.
John Scalzi, the three body problem, Dune, check some of the Hugo nominees.
>John Scalzi, the three body problem
Terrible taste.
Read this and Edmond Hamilton the early pumps are the best breeding ground for sci fi ideas. Edmond Hamilton also wrote Superman comics.
