>> 22. DETECTIVE COMICS #1009 (DC COMICS)
sells good.
So much for Marvel Comics #1000 selling a million.
>47. CAPTAIN MARVEL #9 (MARVEL COMICS)
NICE
I want to know what is Batman appeal to always sell 3-4 comics in the top 10.
What makes him so different from Moon Knight or Black Panther?
Simple... He's a WASP
I’m honestly impressed that the third issues of powers and house outsold the second, I suppose they won’t be doing reprints of them
Popularity thanks to a solid trilogy without any actual competition. By the time his last solo movie ended, the Avengers was just starting.
>IH passed DCeased finally
So are we looking at 80k+?
Meanwhile, using metrics that actually matter...
Is doing terrible
Nice casualness contest, bros.
More likely around 60k - 70k, going by July sales at that position. Still the best Hulk has sold in ten years.
DCeased is split into two listings due to the card stock though.
>shitty Marvel event
>shitty Marvel event
>Batman & Superman
>shitty Marvel event
>shitty Marvel event
>shitty Marvel event
>shitty Marvel event
>Batman
>Batman
The absolute state of USA comics.
That position is 35k - 40k, around the same the Reed run sold. I don’t like Thompson but those sales are solid and more importantly stable.
Oh yeah, just looked up the numbers and the card stock versions have been doing 65k-75k.

George Takei has a graphic novel out? I'm going to have to track that down
top 500 when?
Reminder DC is literally only running on their Batman franchise while Marvel has Spider-Man, X-Men, and Hulk.
Nippon domination, they will buy Disney.
Hickman really is the reckstar of comics.
The X-Men were fucking gone and he brought them back on the top so easily.
I hate that IH popularity will turn the character into Legion 2.0 forever.
Doesn't matter. Those sales are all rubbernecking over how many useless charts Hackman can cram into his "opus."
Once Hackman is gone and mutants return to their typical "oppressed minoriteez but with da superpowahz" status quo, sales will tank again and Marvel will finally kill this zombie franchise.
nah, there is genuine hype behind this. At the very least Cyclops and Family will continue to sell
whatever makes you happy Tommy.
>thinking that Bruce personality disorder is anything new
It is literally the whole premise of the character.
Tommy only cares about Doom and Namor.
X-Domination
feels good mate
This, I remember him saying that he didn't give a fuck about Thanos turning omnipotent way more times than Doom because "it makes sense".
God damn it friendly neighborhoods gonna get canceled isn’t it? I honestly just wanna see that series his 50 and that’s it
>1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 to 16th places are all Marvel.
>Meanwhile the only thing in the top 15 for DC is Batman, Batman and more Batman, then at #17 is an actually good what-if and and then non-Bendis Supes.
This is... a completely weird situation for DC.
even Morrison can't save them
>54. GREEN LANTERN #10 (DC COMICS)
The Gaiman GN, the second Adventure Zone GN and TWD Vol. 32 are the only new non-manga in that chart. Your source requires a "Pro" subscription if you want the estimates.
Tomorrow
It got a reprieve from Marvel
welcome back, to five years ago.
You know the bookscan comic market, including manga, is less than 1/3 Rd of the direct market, right weeb?
>With the sales of all books included, DC is the second biggest publisher, after Viz Media, and Marvel is third.[9]

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY... FUCK JANNIES WHO DO IT FOR FREE!
Sucks to see that book so low, but I guess it's another "Final Crisis Situation" in which the general audience is too confused by the story/plot to be too invested in it.
BASED
No, we knew this ride was going to be short lived.
From the start, I knew it was going to be short lived since it should have NEVER happened, so I lived it up and loved it while it lasted.
Marvel makes ~30 million a year in the Bookscan market.
Viz makes 44.
The Bookscan market is nearly 100% of Viz's sales. It's about 13% of Marvel's sales.
Marvel moves fairly close to as many issues of Amazing Spider-Man in a year as all new bookscan manga combined.
Damn, what happened in Batman #77 that caused that bump? It somehow beat IH and is also 11 spots higher than Batman #76.
Only one of the issues you cited is a Marvel event though.
Not really. This is a pretty standard situation for DC. This is how things shook out before Rebirth. Now that Rebirth is dead thanks to King, Didio and Bendis, it's back to the status quo.
Alfred died
Oh right, it was that issue.
I think it's the death of Alfred or something stupid
47° at #9 is terrible now, with those sales? Imagine that. For once the title is very steady and healthy, in the previous runp at #9 it was doing cancellation numbers (and after #10 it got relaunched for Legacy in fact). It's selling well.
> 33. FANTASTIC FOUR #13 (MARVEL COMICS)
This is good though, very good.
> 37. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #8 (MARVEL COMICS)
This selling well is a travesty but at least we'll be over by #12, hopefully it changes hands.
> 31. GWENPOOL STRIKES BACK #1 (MARVEL COMICS)
LMAO at the Twitter retards saying this sold badly.
[Citation needed]
> 69. IMMORTAL HULK TP VOL 01 OR IS HE BOTH (MARVEL COMICS)
Holy fuck, the first trade is still selling well, and it's not even a relaunch.
>Damn, what happened in Batman #77 that caused that bump?
Damian
MHA everywhere.
I'm picking up the hardcover next month and I just bought 16-23 as floppies, it's on my pull list now. Though the shop I go to has 11-15 as 2nd edition floppies and I'm torn between getting them or just buying the trade. Though if I wanted to save money I would just get the second trade since the directors cuts will cover the first half of the hardcover
Yeah I heard about that, it was only supposed to go to twelve and they pushed it to 15 I think? Though I wonder if that's due to them being worried that taylor potentially getting signed as an exclusive writer to DC.
I already scheduled the purchase of the first hardcover for October, though it sucks that they haven't announced or hinted at a second volume despite the great sales yet. Also this is one of the few times I'm torn between getting a hardcover like that and supporting the series via trades (since I'm not in the US, trades is the way to go), simply because it only collects ten issues when we're going to get #24 next month. These collections aren't coming soon enough.
Good shills.
At this point, IH doesn't need shilling.
Comichron.com
comicsbeat.com
Top 750 manga in units: 2.6 million.
ASM sells 80,000 an issue average (median is closer to 65, but in this case peaks matter) x 26 a year, plus a 60,000 annual. =2.1 million units. No reprints or reorders are included in this estimate, either, and no graphic novel sales. Counting other spider-titles starring just Peter Parker, and it wouldn't even be remotely close; Spider-Man sells more units than all new manga combined.
Mangafags btfo by facts and logic
I dunno am I not allowed to talk about my purchases in a sales report thread?
I imagine they're waiting to see the sales on the hard cover to see if they want to bother releasing a second one. I've been slowly reading through the hulk so the purchasing of the floppies that I have no idea whats going on in is alright since I'm still waiting for the hard cover to be able to read the story from the beginning. Though I loved late 70s and 80s hulk I'm not that into the 90s stuff yet
Dav Pilkey's Dog Man series alone sold 2.6 million units last year. The same as the top 750 manga combined.
I'm waiting for the time when he'll be gone to even start pirating the X books again, if they get good. Rest assured the characters will still have fans despite him.
>my purchases
lol
Hence your doing it for free.
>I dunno am I not allowed to talk about my purchases in a sales report thread?
ignore them, I've seen people in comic con news threads being called shills for copypasting new reports.
What are you even doing here?
That's what shills do, user.
He's staying in the main X-Men ongoing and will do the first arc of New Mutants, so I give him probably two more years.
Isn't this entire board just a massive advertisement for disney and time warner though?
Nice HOXPOX is killing it
It would probably be more accurate, from a picture of publishing health and trends, to consider Manga as a whole in decline and My Hero Academia as an up-and coming new publisher in the US cape comics market.
MHAs massive success last year singlehandedly kept Manga from going into a decline in YoY sales.
It's the Marvel manga book that are supposed to break 1M (overseas)
>> 25. AVENGERS #23 (MARVEL COMICS)
>> 26. EVENT LEVIATHAN #3 (DC COMICS)
Last month, Avengers #21 and 22 were 47,931 and 48,522, and Event Leviathan #2 was 53,334.
The retailers hate Morrison's GL, GL fans are whales who will buy anything regardless of quality so for DC to only ship one GL book a monthish when they could easily sell one a week is killing them.
Him turning into several different Hulks in a single is not usual.
So it's dropping or riding? Because 25° with these high numbers is still a considerable position for Avengers which usually has high but middling sales.
>Absolute Carnage
>Spider-Man Event
>47th place
>it's doing great
Full retard
Is usual for Batman to Stay in the top 10 after 77 issues? Afair iterally no other title can stay this high after 30 comics
Assuming Avengers is still in the high 40,000's (like 46,000-49,000) that might mean Event Leviathan is dropping.
What kind of loser would shill a corporation?
>fans are whales who will buy anything regardless of quality
YOU DON'T SAY?
> 9. BATMAN #77 (DC COMICS)
>16. IMMORTAL HULK #22 (MARVEL COMICS)
UHHH I DONT FEEL SO GOOD, EWING BROS
Stop shitposting, that's actually a good position for the title and it's a considerable increase from last month too, when it was at 66°. Fuck off.
>Thompson but those sales are solid and more importantly stable.
I dont believe so. They're just going to relaunch the book again anyway as soon as the sales inevitably dip lower.
See , don't peddle this nonsense. The title already has another arc slated beyond #12 for next year.
Sorry but it's gonna get relaunched because that's what Carol does.
> 61. TONY STARK IRON MAN #15 (MARVEL COMICS)
Another proof that moviefags don't buy comics at all, if movies had any tiny influence over comic sales Iron Man would be at the very least in the top 20 every month
Does BookScan not track single issues?
I think the fact that it's not very good is a bigger factor
>Actually selling well unlike the previous two series
>Rising in the ranks instead of bleeding sales every month
>Great art and interesting arcs
>Mark Brooks in cover duties
But yeah it's getting relaunched because random shitposter on Yea Forums can't help but repeat the same tired nonsense. I bet you'll try to pull the overshipping nonsense next even though the dollar and unit rank has been consistently the same so far.
>Spiderman - 2.1
Wait a fucking minute, how many Batman comics are sold by year?
Bookscan tracks only what is sold in bookstores and major retailers like Target and Wal-Mart. A handful of single issues are tracked, but they are statistically insignificant.
No, just graphic novels sold outside of comic shops.
That's a lot harder to guess, because what constitutes a "Batman" book is a little more nebulous. Is a batfamily book that guest stars Batman 10 issues out of 12 a batbook? Is Batman/Superman? What about Batman and the outsiders? Detective comics?
The answer is probably more than Spider-man, but that core comic doubleshipping makes for a lot of fucking issues.
>12. amazing 28
>15. amazing 27
>70. Friendly neighborhood 11
>76. Friendly neighborhood 10
I'm always surprised to see it when the issue released late in the month outsells the issue released at the beginning
>Event Leviathan #2 was 53,334.
It's got GREAT artwork, but it's a typical Bendis Big Event where NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS ( or, rather, an absurd amount happens all at once and then people stand around talking about it for the next several issues until the eventual inevitable ass-pull ending ).
Also: the Bendispeak.
>> 3. BATMAN SUPERMAN #1 [*] (DC COMICS)
The best bromance in comics two decades strong.
Ok but seriously, Ewingfags. Where are you right now? Pretty silent huh?
>five decades
Fixed.
Good. That Leviathan thing has been a piece of shit. Fuck Bendis.
I'm here and I don't mind at all because I figured it would happen as soon as HoXPoX and AC came out, they would push every other series down. I even said it months ago so it's to be expected. Also, it doesn't even mean it's selling less than before, it's that everything else is outselling it.
I'm not worried either because #25 is expected to make waves, and that's still a few months away.
If you look up the numbers on IcV2, you’ll see that they still don’t come close to how many issues are sold. Back in 2016, Tokyo Ghoul, in a whole year, only sold like 200k copies in the US. A ton of issues do those numbers IN A MONTH. Some are events, some are new #1s and some are just filled to the brim with variants, but a single issue can make those numbers IN A MONTH.
>> 20. BATMAN #76 (DC COMICS)
Batcat didn't sell.
Tom king kills Batman,
DCeased is likely higher than that since it's listed in two separate positions for the same issue.
>Tom king kills Batman
He also ( literally ) killed Alfie:
>> 9. BATMAN #77 (DC COMICS)
Hey Ewingfags, because I love you, I will remind you Ewing wrote the most important part of Marvel Comics #1000
Congratulations.
The biggest character in comics finally took his sales ranking back from the fucking Hulk, ordinarily a sales C-stringer.
What are you fucking gloating about?
I don't even read IH, but it took killing Alfred to surpass it which isn't a good look.
> 9. BATMAN #77 (DC COMICS)
> 16. IMMORTAL HULK #22 (MARVEL COMICS)
> 20. BATMAN #76 (DC COMICS)
Hulk used to be Marvel second most popular superhero after Spider-Man himself.
>Why people aren't sperging the same way i have in the last six months?!
Because you are a Batfag, therefore you lack class other than taste.
Ok, ok, ok, I know you want to bait, but seriously, what the fuck is Thor? X-Men? The Fantastic Four? Captain America?
Those titles and some more sold back then more than Hulk did, and now the green giant is doing way, WAY better than most of them until this month.
ALSO, are you seriously saying that Batman doing better is good considering how THEY KILLED ALFRED?
You fucking idiot.
Hulk will do fine. The book still beat Batman in storytelling regardless
This is also true.
When was this? It sure as hell wasn't at the beginning, since its four issue series got cancelled due to low sales. X-Men and Spider-Man were the top sellers back then, and only until recently the mutants took over their spot again.
And mind you, I'm a new Hulk fan thanks to Ewing, but let's not pretend the character was a big seller, just a mainstay.
Well I'm guessing Justice league Odyssey is about to be cancelled. Vol.3 still hasn't been listed on amazon and it's out of the top 100. Hopefully they don't cancel it in the middle of the storyline like they did Cyborg.
I really wish that DC would just stop publishing Black Superheroes because it's obvious they could care less about them. Look at Cyborg and Black Lightning. Cyborg's last solo series was cancelled with issue # 23 in the middle of a storyline despite issue # 22 selling out (because fans love the new Mekkan X villain) and selling above cover price on ebay. If this was Marvel Mekkan X would of had two mini-series by now. Cyborg in Justice League Odyssey has been stripped of all of his supporting characters. there is no mention of his Father, Sarah Charles or STAR Labs. he only briefly mentioned the 'people of earth' after vowing to protect the planet from Darkseid.
Black lightning in Batman and the Outsiders is in the same boat. So far there is no mention of his wife, daughters, or the school where he teaches at or community that he usually protects.
One would think that fans of these characters would like to read about their progression.
>So far there is no mention of his wife, daughters,
He doesn't have any daughters. You'd know that if you read the Tony Isabella Black Lightning miniseries from a year ago.
You aren't alone though, since around 8000 people read that.
B... But we hate events! Marvel does too many events! With too many tie-ins!
In that mini-series, Cold Dead hands,Tony made them into his preteen cousins instead of their daughters. I didn't mentioned it because I didn't think anyone read it.
And Spider-Man sold more than Batman until about 2009.
Things change. Hulk has been a C-seller since the 80s. Batman losing to Hulk in 2019- even a #1 Hulk shouldn't threaten the Bat, ever. And yet here we are, with Batman finally getting on top of a #22? And you want to gloat and nitpick? Come on, Man.
I'm actually not a Batfag. I just despise Ewingfags.
The smart thing for Marvel to do would be to cut the X-Men line down to just one good book, and build the fanbase back up. Instead they're launching 6 monthly books out of HoxPox. The two Hickman's working on will probably sell well, but the other four are counting on the support of characterfags that don't exist in the numbers they need anymore.
While Hulk and Batman fans argue, the biggest character in comics right now is Carnage.
>Top 750 manga in units: 2.6 million.
why Japan still is bothering with America, in France One Piece alone sell nearly 1.5 million volumes
>And Spider-Man sold more than Batman until about 2009.
FUCK QUESADA AND FUCK OMD
Weird flex, but okay
For now. I'm hoping Absolute Garbage gets everyone fed up with symbiotes.
>For now. I'm hoping Absolute Garbage gets everyone fed up with symbiotes.
It probably will, but years ago Bendis tried to kill Carnage and just look at him now. Let the fans enjoy this while it lasts.
When will Superman be popular again bros
When Bennis is gone.
>implying he was a top seller before then
Bennis sure isn't helping.
>2. MARVEL COMICS #1000 (MARVEL COMICS)
>jealous as fuck of DC having two series at issue #1000
>desperately try to make your own even though you can't even give a reason for it to be #1000
>can't even top sales chart
all my fucking keks
A ledditor recently proposed that Leviathan used to be a male Manhunter
I'll probably end up selling more than DC's, though.
What I'm surprised about is that Event Leviathan is supposed to be the big even this year, isn't it? I don't think Year of the Villain was originally intended to be it.
Is that why it has "Event" in the title?
That's interesting. Where do you find the numbers for that? I'd be very interested.
wtf is adventure zone
I would argue that putting Spider-Man on weekly without a consistent tea. and reverting all the changes of the last ten years while leaving everything controversial was a much bigger mistake than OMD alone.
You're kidding right? It won't have sold even half either Action or Tec #1000.
We'll see how big your mouth is when we get numbers tomorrow.
>Event Leviathan is supposed to be the big even this year, isn't it?
It sure as hell doesn't seem like it, unlike the Batman who lmaos' plan of infecting heroes and Lex's Year of the Villain autism, Event Leviathan doesn't seem to affect that much.
>unironically thinking that Absolute Carnage sold over 500k
Gwenpool sold like shit user
Even a mini is meant to pull some numbers
That's a good number for her considering she's fucking D-list. What is it with people openly misconstruing the rankings? Tomorrow you'll see the actual sales.
>Batman outselling Hulk again
The dream is dead
80 years of pop culture dominance?
it was just an issue of Alfred dying, it will be back soon
Retard
the real question is why didn't they just have four imprints going rather than just having amazing as the only title, amazing spectacular web and then whatever for the fourth
Wait Cates on Guardians is ending? I just hope Aaron doesn't take over. Definitely pulling for PAD since I liked his Prodigal Sun mini and he would do something interesting.
Moviefags are also "not muh" about Marvel properties just like comcifags ares probably even more so. They're not going to touch comics.
does the rank really matter when they don't publish the sales numbers
They do
DC is wishing they had just let Hickman do Legion but instead they took in Bendis and he's killing them.
The solicitation for #12 seem to hunt at an ending, yes. It's also the only thing for which he doesn't seem to have a plan, unlike all his Venom stuff (and Cosmic Ghost Rider). Rumors strongly suggest he'll take over Thor after Aaron finishes in December.
>GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #12
> Written by DONNY CATES
> Art by CORY SMITH & MORE
> Cover by GEOFF SHAW
> THE "FAITHLESS" STORYLINE ENDS HERE!
> Thanos Wins…Cosmic Ghost Rider…The Death of the Inhumans…Silver Surfer: Black…Guardians of the Galaxy…It’s all been leading to this.
Unless he wants to string along this much further and bring Knull into the shit sandwich.
Also just looked up another article and yes, it does seem more definitive, according to the official press release:
>The solicitation for Guardians of the Galaxy #12 itself teases the end of the "Faithless" storyline, one which has been building over Cates' time writing cosmic tales from Death of the Inhumans until now. While it would seem from the solicitation its just the story arc ending — they do tend to last six issues, after all — a press release distributed by Marvel seems to carry much more sinister phrasing.
>In the press release, Marvel describes the issue as "the exciting conclusion to Donny Cates' legendary cosmic run," a pretty clear indicator that at the very least,Cates' time on the title is up. Marvel's Ryan Penagos seems to double-down on the fact in the latest edition of the Marvel Pull List, saying "Donny Cates' culmination of a massively interwoven story he's been telling across four titles — Thanos, Guardians of the Galaxy, Silver Surfer: Black, and Death of the Inhumans — has all been leading to this one issue."

And yes, I'm very much hoping it's not Aaron who takes over the series, I want Cady or Bowers or Ewing on it, they would be perfect. Aaron would just be Bendis 2.0.
>>> 9. BATMAN #77 (DC COMICS)
Batcat didn't sell.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #1 (MARVEL COMICS)
9. BATMAN #77 (DC COMICS)
Batpussy is dead.
Marvel outselling Batman .
Deathstroke is ending, very sad to see it go. Judas Contract is getting a Dark Multiverse spin. Would rather Priest was writing it but oh well, fingers crossed for him taking the Batman gig.
Thank God King's run is ending.
>> 9. BATMAN #77 (DC COMICS)
Basically Tom King used Catwoman & Holly Robinson as plot devices, to emotionally break Batman, so he could kinda link it to Bane, BADLY homaging Knightfall.batcat is now cancer.
Obsessed.
>Obsessed.
Batman is still dead.
Quick rundown:
Shit dialogue
Shit characterization of Batman
Character becomes receptacle for all of King's angst he acquired as a CIA spook
Derails the story into "le edgy grimdark" territory
Catwoman becomes the source of Bruce's onetis for some reason
Apparently he can't Batman unless he's chronically unhappy for some reason
>9. BATMAN #77 (DC COMICS)
And already almost bumped it off the top ten.
Read his Batman and Mister Miracle if you want to see why people don't like him.
If the rumors are true, King wants to make Bruce look bad so when he replaces him with a black OC he looks better in comparison.
Since Snyder, Morrison, and Winnick have had solid moments, when was the last time Bats had a writer as bad as King?
>implying you even like DC
Nobody like DC Thank to King and Bendis.
> 54. GREEN LANTERN #10 (DC COMICS)
God fucking dammit. I actually love this book.
when he will be bald
>Cyborg's last solo series was cancelled with issue # 23 in the middle of a storyline despite issue # 22 selling out (because fans love the new Mekkan X villain) and selling above cover price on ebay.
Another example of retardation from DC. I think that storyline should be a mini instead. Meanwhile the entire Semper run is still yet to be collected in HC.
Hulk just outsold him once instead of twice as usual.
A comedy-adventure /tg/ podcast turned graphic novel series by three brothers and a father. It is loosely based upon D&D
They have several other titles going. You can see them on the list.
ASM hasn't been weekly in years. It went to trimonthly when Slott took over, then biweekly.
