So a few years back there was this lil arc called Clone Conspiracy, it was built up through a year or so of seeing jackal being the reason a handful of events had happened in his life and in the book its revealed that Ben had survived and taken up the mantle of Jackal. So we learn that Ben had been steadily bringing back everyone in peter's life who had been killed, including Gwen Stacy. So bullshit occurs nothing from the arc matters beyond bringing ben back and cementing Otto in a new peter body. But what we find is Ben went insane from being cloned a whole bunch and he now has the degeneration problems that Kaine had. But his book is baisically kaine hunting ben for all of the problems he caused and ben falling in love with death. At this point the peter david book takes over and it was alright but weird, I still would've prefered yost continue his book instead.

Ben's solo book is interesting. I like how these supernatural characters take interest in his soul for no real reason, and I like the ideas of redemption and it was sort of weird but cool. It kind of sucks it ends with him dying again and him becoming evil and crying in fetal position in an alley because Marvel didn't want Ben's character to change. Spider-Clones are fodder for Spider-Verse events now

On the bright side, using Otto’s tech they were able to revive Ben and reset him to factory default thus putting him back to normal. Just would’ve been nice to get some connective tissue between Ben’s solo and Spider-Geddon especially since he and Kaine were suddenly on good terms and Ben not crazy like the last issue left off on.

Of course after the Black Cat redemption thing between Venom Inc and Defenders, really seems Marvel editors were on vacation last year
