I know it's a kids show, but is The Lion Guard any good? I really loves the first two Lion King movies as a kid and last year I re watched them purely out of nostalgia. Have any of you watched it? I don't really care if it's for kids, I'm just interested in how they expanded on the story and characters.
I know it's a kids show, but is The Lion Guard any good...

It's pretty good
Details? Why do you think it was good?
It is boring as fuck until the last season.
It mostly covers Kion’s story and his sidekicks. If you wants to see more about the original movie characters like Simba or Timon & Pumbaa, it may not be your cup of tea.
I wish to see Kion and the Jasiri make the Snu-Snu.
finally more people that don't criticise just because of the age range
>its for kids
so is the lion king, its the exact same age range as the show
as a guy that watched the entire show here's my thoughts
some episodes are great, there are a few which lead no where and might be a bit slow
each episode has a song and because they are forced to make a song for each episode some are pretty bad, but for the most part they are not bad and some are pretty catchy
they butchered up scars motives and backstory a bit, it isn't too bad and you can always just ignore that part, same with simba, there are times where he doesn't really act like he should, even though its pretty much the same thing in season 1 and 2 its still pretty entertaining, there will be the occasional over the top joke where it reminds you its a kid show but overall its pretty solid for a kid show
you got my recommendation op, the ending was okay in my opinion, don't like how they did the ships but hey, it could've been worse
don't we all?
some episodes were bad obviously but you can't claim all 40+ episodes were bad, there should've been a few that was decent atleast by anyone's standard
were*
honestly who would want more of timon and pumba?, i mean they were decent but i couldn't stand the 3rd movie, was their show even successful?
also here you go op

if you do decide to watch it
>don't we all?
Not everyone.
I'm still pretty mad they didn't hook her up with Kion, it almost looked like they were giving hints but at the end they had to go with the same species shit, they seemed to have a good connection in my opinion
I'd say that Fuli and Kion could have had something especially since their duties paired them up so much.
Kion could certainly maintain an unorthodox Pride to go with his non-traditional Guard.
didn't really see fuli with kion as much as jasiri, this is even when fuli had much more screentime than jasiri, a cheetah and a lion is just as incompatible as a hyena and a lion, and in my opinion Jasiri just had more chemistry, thats just me though
I enjoy it. But there is a kind of cognitive dissonance that makes every villain a carnivore because they want to eat.
not really, they implied that everyone eats meat, its just that the bad guys are the ones that eat more than they need to, and overhunt
They could have done with more prey antagonists, but the stupidity of the prey was already an obstacle on a daily basis.
How do the tree of life lions hunt? Do they have to go off grounds? and if so, why doesnt everyone just live near there and claim sanctuary constantly? How are those lions alive.
They should have given Kion his full mane in the very end when he returned for his little marriage thing.
i agree with that, could've been a nice twist
plot magic user, maybe they fish, maybe they eat the animals that die naturally, maybe they eat bugs, who cares really, i assume not many live there as its pretty well hidden, it took the lion guard days to go there and they had to follow landmarks, or maybe they only allow animals that need healing/assistance
also about the Kion mane part, it would've been nice to see a mane slowly grow on him, but not all lions grow manes, or maybe he still wasn't mature enough
>or maybe they only allow animals that need healing/assistance
The other animals at the Tree didn't seem like the injured/need healing type. I kind of already forgot the majority of the ones who made the Tree of Life their home compared to the ones in the Pridelands though.
well there were some rare ones, i know there was a rare leopard that needed food?, other than that i assume it for the rare animals that can't survive on their own, thats as far as i remember it
from the wiki
The Tree of Life is a safe-haven where animals from everywhere come to heal or if they are of an endangered species
Oh shit, oh shit ,oh shit.
they fuck, do they?
not really, animators really cucked us there, but they do have a few wholesome moments
check booru
Although, now we saw them as adults it needs an update.
Kion was never in love with Jasiri. But Janja thought that he was, and sang a song where he imagined things like this. But this fantasy scenario was the only thing the show did to appease the Kion/Jasiri shippers.
Sadly, Kion and Fuli shippers got no service and went home disappointed.
/pol/ in one image
Awww.
Friends with benefits then.
>people shipping animals of different species.
look at the hearts, there are more scenes like this with jasiri and kion, and at the end they have him go with a lioness that shows up at the end of the last season.. i have a feeling they hinted something but disney forced them to change it
Again, that whole scene was in Janja's imagination. He was in love with Jasiri but was afraid Kion would cuck him.
Not op but thanks dude.
you're welcome, the show could've done better, but its honestly not as bad as people meme it to be, i quite liked it, shame it doesn't gain much traction here on /co
Worked for Sly cooper, Zootoopia and many more
>shame it doesn't gain much traction here on /co
Might be for the best kek. Yea Forums can make things not fun anymore.
Lion Guard doesnt anthropomorphize the characters to near the degree of those IPs. There are still predators and prey and instincts here.
I dont even think Cheetahs and Lions can breed.
i don't know user, it didn't really give me the impression he was afraid kion will cuck him, but who knows
its a show about talking animals and lions using magical roars, its not meant to stick to real world logic, whats the matter with going one extra step and shipping 2 different species
It'll get less now that it's over. Had they burned the show slowly, we'd have been able to talk about things longer. It's why I hate "bomb" scheduling. Back when shows only got one episode a week, people had time to digest each episode and speculate about the next one. It was healthy for online communities. But now, shows burn batches of episodes at a time so you don't get that experience anymore. Things came and went so quickly that the finer points were lost in the midst of it all.
That was literally the whole point of the song. He was pining for Jasiri and resented Kion for getting close to her.
he was talking about not being to defend when they're both togethers, and he states in the song "she and him are like best friends", maybe i'm just retarded but i don't see it
here's a wholesome moment
file didn't attach
they did it in a kind of weird way, think they calculated the date it would end if they were to publish an episode each week, and then they just released it at the end date, not that it changes things too much, didn't bother me too much, i just binged the whole season
d'awww
it's still better than not release final episodes at all.
The song was Janja's imagination. Why else would he put hearts everywhere and have them be together if he wasn't worried about that? Kion and Jasiri never had any other romantic interactions outside of his song.
based riq everytime he promises something
