Knull is kind of annoying but I get why he’s in everything. He’s a new character that’s supposed to be like an elder god so there’s the push to make him as big of a character he was introduced as. He’s fine in venom, and I really hope wraith gets to fight him because i personally love wraith.

That’s true, but he did explain the stipulation that the watchers agreed Galactus must live and it’s one of the only acceptable times they can interfere. Even in that case he didn’t really stop him. He just said “you don’t want to do this. You still can but be prepared to live with the consequences” I can see why you’re mad though, the watchers rules are constantly changing with the writers.

I remember the page and him telling Surfer about the alternate universes was fine, but him openly saying "don't do that because x will happen" was an intervention. The Watcher of all people should know to stay away, he understands causality.

Good point, I actually agree. I can do some mental gymnastics to make it make more sense, like galactus being a universal constant, and Uatu being a rebel and bending rules before, but you are 100% right here.

If the watchers made the rules I assume they can permit when to bend them, it really doesn’t matter if we understand it or not. Us comic books fans aren’t cosmically aware.

Galactus has become a cosmic entity, where he used to be just a very strong devourer. He is the cosmic entity if entropy, he has to live or we get another cancerverse. Also, Watchers can't bend the rules at all.

When he gets flipped (Lifebringer) is the same too, but on the opposite: bringing life and hope whenever it's needed. Sounds corny but in an universe just reborn, it's important to have someone who can breathe new life into it the way it should be.
That's why it bothered me to see that page where the Watchers supposedly gather and "decree" there can't be a change. They're observers, their stance is to document, not stop others from following the course of history. If the Surfer was there, there was a reason... But Cates does NOT understand time travel in Marvel because he did the same thing with Cosmic Ghost Rider.

I think it was just bad phrasing. The watcher was okay with Logos and that was a change, but the end of Entropy is too big of a change to let go.

To be honest it's best to leave the cosmic stuff as a bit of a mystery. As a DnD player it was so tempting for me to try to totally understand the universe and the lore, the structure of physics and stuff like that, but once you know all of it it's just so tame. It was better when Eternity was a wonder and not just a guy with omniscience, yknow?

The approach I’ve been taking when I read is to imagine that each writer kinda of has their own continuity, while still fitting into the overall 616. Continuity has to be super hard when it’s a team of different writers and an 80 year legacy worth of stories. I can’t expect every writer to be well versed in all that history, so I just accept when certain details change as long as it’s relevant to the story being told.

Knull is an appropiate enemy for the silver surfer to face. Far more powerful than him but still within the realm of possibility to defeat through strategy. He's a minor abstract that serves as an antithesis for Norrin's appreciation for life. Plus the way Tradd Moore draws Knull is fucking beautiful, his design and powers lend themselves to some great imagery.
Also while I'm tired of his use of Cosmic Ghost Rider, writers create their own story threads all the time hat spread through their own books, using elements they came up with. Just look at Ewing repurposing his concepts from Mighty Avengers into Ultimates, and from Ultimates into no road home and immortal hulk
