Huh.... Three days after Jan 26th. Neat.

It actually sounds just like that, haha.

Threadly reminder that the reason why DC started to release their solicitations one week early is so that they wouldn’t have to compete with based Marvel.

Okay so Arthur riding Gaghiel into battle against Manta's Unit-01 is great and all, but how the fuck does this lead to him teaming up with the Anti-Monitor? Is Ocean Instrumentality going to happen, once Mera unleashes her giant naked form?

>How will the Bat team cope without Alfred?
This is for those who insisted that Alfred dying was merely a decoy.

I wish Sean Murphy would be on a black label book not written by Sean Murphy.
Did he ever do American Vampire with Snyder? That'd be fun.

Time for a sexy maid just like my hentais

Fuck off shill

>How will Flashpoint Batman be vanquished from our dimension?
He'll die. Not even King is a big enough hack to keep ANOTHER evil Batman around.
>What will become of Gotham Girl now that she’s betrayed all she knows?
Dead or jail.
>How will the Bat team cope without Alfred?
Cry every few issues until he comes back. Maybe copy Immortal Hulk and bring back his dormant super powers and alter ego.

Yes, the bat/cat book is coming.

Batman. It's always Batman.

It's a very weird situation right now for me where a lot of mainline shit seems unappealing and then you have these weirdo or niche ideas that sound amazing. I mean, you could say that about my Marvel pulls as well but I'd argue Thor (I know, I'm read it solely for the character not the writing or art), Immortal Hulk and Doctor Strange are solidly mainline, and No Road Home/Savage Avengers solid events pushed as part of the "main part" of Marvel's setting.

Yeah one of the minis back in 2011-2012

its not competing they tie into each other

again, plus they're probably gonna reboot fairly soon so who cares

Reminder this isn’t canon.
>**Nrama**: So does this tie in to Doomsday Clock at all? Because we’ve seen the seeds of the Justice Society returning in Doomsday Clock.

>**Snyder**: Not really. I mean, Doomsday Clock really is its own wonderful, incredible story. The kind of light connection between them is just that, what Geoff and I talked about was because Doomsday Clock is kind of running at its own pace and in its own kind of continuity, what I didn’t want to do was bring the JSA back before he had a chance to reintroduce them as a concept in issue #10.

>I think that’s similar with other characters that he’s going to be using in Doomsday Clock as well.

>So there’s a nod to each other in that regard. I wanted him to be able to have the JSA as an idea, and have that first appearance in Doomsday Clock.

>But in terms of the continuities linking up, Doomsday Clock is a very special and inspirational book. We’re all amazed, I think, at how good it is. **But its effects are relatively self-contained to itself.**

SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN #2
written by GENE LUEN YANG
art and cover by GURIHIRU
Teenager Tommy Lee is missing, and Superman is on the case! It can’t be a coincidence that just last night, Tommy bravely confronted the Klan of the Fiery Cross when they surrounded the Lee family’s Metropolis house and told them to go back to Chinatown.
The year is 1946, and Clark Kent is so new to being Superman that he hasn’t yet learned to fly—so his search for Tommy is conducted in huge, gravity-defying leaps that make Tommy’s sister, Roberta, suspect the Man of Tomorrow may not be an earthling at all! But if this strange, young hero can adjust to his adopted home, perhaps she can, too.
First, though, they must stop the Klan from blowing up Unity House, which has welcomed the Chinese-American Lee family into their community. But could the real target be across town, where Superman’s friends Jimmy, Lois, and Perry work at the Daily Planet?
Inspired by the 1940s Superman radio serial “Clan of the Fiery Cross,” Gene Luen Yang (American Born Chinese, Boxers and Saints, The Terrifics, New Super-Man) brings us part two of his personal retelling of the adventures of the Lee family as they team up with Superman to smash the Klan!

Does this mean that Superman will have to do another fusion dance to retcon everything?

Pretty much seems to confirm people's speculation that the upcoming event is leading to a reboot... which is just crazy at this point. It's WAY too soon.

I think the only way there won't be a huge backlash is if the event is actually some "anti-reboot thing that alongside introducing an all new universe actually brings back running series for all old ones.

Priest lost focus of the book, what started out as a family drama got taken over by pointless cameos, important moments like Joey's homosexuality or Rose's marriage got handled in a panel or two so he could focus more on his convoluted plot, because that's what it became, he had a plan at first and then he felt like he needed to keep his stylistic choices in terms of storytelling but didn't have a plan so the jumping around only served to weaken the plot and characters, the series lost it's depth and became too in love with the idea of doing "mastermind" sequences, and while they were well thought out in the beginning, in the second half it's just tryhard bullshit. The Batman arc was pants on head retarded and was shoved in very awkwardly, killing the flow of the series, it was the most blatant filler arc I've ever seen in a comic book, it also tried to insult the readers' intelligence, something that has been happening for a long while with several editor's notes every issue reminding you of really obvious shit, sometimes even from the previous issue, but I guess since the editor thinks the readers are retards he felt the need to constantly do this.

Honestly I've been a bit disappointed with this book. They got the weirdness right, but there's no direction.

DC DESIGNER SERIES: HARLEY QUINN BY ENRICO MARINI STATUE
based on artwork by ENRICO MARINI
sculpted by KAREN PALINKO
Based on Enrico Marini’s work as writer and artist in the graphic novel Batman: The Dark Prince Charming, this 12" Harley Quinn statue really shows off Marini’s new look for the character. Equal parts cute and crazy, this fan-favorite look makes this piece stand out from the rest of the Harley statues out there.
• Limited to 5,000 pieces and individually numbered
• Statue measures approximately 12.5" tall
• Allocations may occur
• Final products may differ from images shown

If anything I'd hope that these books are reflective of the characterizations that will end up in the actual movie.

>7/8 of those trades are OOP now

They have got to stop this shit. I don't think I even bought them that long ago so that's a really quick timeframe to go out of print.

>Everyone saying they’ve already done this and yet STILL getting butthurt
You fags we’re getting all worked up about Cuck Kent and now that it turns out Bendis is just going to have Clark reveal his secret you’re still asshurt? Newsflash retards: His Secret ID will be restored, probably as a retirement present after he steps down as President of Earth.

This book would be 1000 times better if the GL protagonist is an alien rather than just a black girl.

>I'm done. One other little thing, is that Flash vol 11 is now a HC because Didio's brain is turning into cheese
They printed fewer and fewer each time because the sell-through kept getting lower. I shit you not, the older trades went OOP within three months of the final one being released, because people bought them all at once.
The same thing has happened with Ostrander's Suicide Squad. One by one they go OOP after each month since "the final mission" came out.

Attached: DCBombshells_Huntress_Solicit_2.jpg (817x1200, 87K)

Hey Bendis, how about you stop raping Superman and just do everyone a favor and kill yourself?

I’m praying this book gets relaunched in the next line wide relaunch, give Yang a #1

How much did the omnis sell?

Retards on Yea Forums have started parroting each other. A linewide relaunch is probably coming but they’re not throwing everything out and starting over again like they did with the New 52.

>like you guys really think the JL is actually gonna lose?
Like I said, the JL losing goes along with the rumor Snyder's story was actually leading to an event next year. So, they will lose, we get those villains books and afterwards we'll get the event announced, presumably which is what will lead to some kind of reboot that also will fix the Superman identity reveal.

They're back, yay!

>>Wait, how is Harley part of the SS when she got out for HiC?
>There might be a real answer in the book or we can no prize it but let's be real. it's because the movie
She isn't even in the suicide squad in the new movie though.

So many books, no actual talents behind them

Ok Ladderfag why don’t you go jerk off to Liefield’s Twitter?

is she not? Robbie is back anyway

Too bad you have shit taste, I guess.

I don't get this? 1-50 issues?

There are like 30 more issues of his run plus The Wonder Year origin. Why make the first book so much larger when they could have split it slightly more equally with a second?

I wish the Shuster estate had won and taken back Superman. WB and DC don’t deserve him.

What they hyperbolic retards of Yea Forums weren’t enough of a hint?

>Catwoman has made her choice: she will use the map Lex Luthor gave her to prevent Raina Creel from finding the Lazarus Pit and rebuilding herself.
Why not just let her? It'd probably make her less of a bitch.

I’m just sayin. DC’s future don’t look so super, senpai

*drops the mic*

That's great. It would be amazing if they went onto the bronze age and we finally got comprehensive reprints of that material.

Also King's doing 12 issues of Batman/Catwoman rebootpeople

>NOOOOOOO YOU CAN’T HAVE DRAMA IN YOUR BOOKS MUH COMFY FEEFEES

1987's Live action movie He-Man! Hell yeah!

You're missing perspective. That is more than most DC omnis have sold including their GA Superman and recent GA Batmans have sold.

Stay asshurt faggot. How’s it feel knowing Bendis is selling better than talentless hacks like Jurgens and Tomasi? Bet it makes you want to kill yourself. You should act on that impulse

I thought Bendis books were selling like shit.

There's more than they included in the trades that they could fit into the second omnibus.
I would love if they included the annuals (including the crossover with Detective Comics and The Question). That's eight 50 page issues right there, even though Grell himself did not write all of them (it's funny that Grell wrote a Bloodlines tie-in even though he hated working with capebooks).
Plus there's a four issue double-sized Shado miniseries too, which is another 200 pages.

>anyone have that "Harley as a sushi table" page from that eurocomic?

Attached: Batman - The Dark Prince Charming-072.jpg (2438x3675, 1.7M)

Yeah, who wants “shitty” books like Superman: Peace on Earth when we can have more Heroes in Crisis. No wonder DC is outselling Marvel-Oh Wait!....

he's selling about a 1000 above tomasi and jurgens, but the latter were pulling those numbers twice a month, not once

I'll never understand this "Didio only likes grimdark" thing. Just because he's a figurehead doesn't mean he doesn't like lighthearted stuff. Hell, he's written some pretty good stuff before, but that'd go against the narrative.

Attached: 1355610622365.jpg (640x360, 35K)

You thought wrong. Bendis is selling better than Tomasi and Jurgens were at the same time period of one issue in. And he doesn’t have the benefit of a linewide relaunch like those two had. Tomasi was below the New 52 by the end of his run, probably because of all the garbage he put out in the second half of his run

FUCK YEAH! DWJ is one of my favorite creators right now, Murder Falcon and Extremity are fucking amazing books. I can't wait to see this

Attached: Murder Falcon #006 (2019) - Page 19.jpg (3952x3056, 2.1M)

>Stay asshurt faggot. How’s it feel knowing Bendis is selling better than talentless hacks like Jurgens and Tomasi?
But he isn't? And that's in spite of ending the double shipping.

Unless you mean their current books, but Tomasi is above him there anyway... (Detective is above Action, Superman and even "Event Leviathan").

I hope Zoe at least has sex with King or Bendis and MeToo’s one to suicide.

Aww I’m shocked you could even read Peace on Earth. Isn’t that a little dark for comfyfags such as yourself? Supes fucking loses in the end after all and has to just spout some feel good platitudes at the end.

>There's more than they included in the trades that they could fit into the second omnibus.
>Plus there's a four issue double-sized Shado miniseries too, which is another 200 pages.
Just finished buying the last two trades as well! Just my luck.

>And he doesn’t have the benefit of a linewide relaunch like those two had.
Just an ad campaign specific to him and a lead-in in one of the biggest comics of the year.

>I hope Zoe at least has sex with King or Bendis and MeToo’s one to suicide.
Shouldn't be hard with King.

Both of those were below the New 52. Face it Rebirth was a PR win but not a sales win. People were already bored of Jon by the end, probably because he’s a flat and boring character just like Superdad.

Bendis only likes em black like a true patrician.

Attached: 1452208377149.gif (419x237, 1.36M)

>Both of those were below the New 52
What do you even mean by 'bellow the New 52"? They were bellow the launch of the New 52, but still above where it was right before DCYou.

Yeah, for reasons no one knows, they didn't include annuals in the trades. It might be due to none of them were really connecting to any of the main plots.
I bet that the crossover "Fables" wasn't included because of reprint royalty problems. It will probably be cheaper for DC is send it out in one big omnibus.
Keep hold of those trades though. You can never bet on a second DC omnibus actually coming out.

>Even the Holiday special is villain themed
>again
DC sucks balls so much now

Based Spurrier trashing Heckblazer for Hellblazer

I couldn't find a more recent comparison, but if anyone wants to make one, be my guest.

This is from January.
>Bendis’ most recent issue of Superman, Superman #6 only sold 52,414 estimated units to retailers. That was good enough for the 24th most shipped comic in December. Action Comics #1005 only shipped 49,149 units in November. That put it in 30th.

>Now, you might be thinking those are respectable numbers given the current state of the industry. which announced another down year with overall graphic novels and comic sales down over 1% from 2017. 2017 saw comic sales shrink by 6.5% compared to 2016.

>However, if you look at where Superman and Action Comics were prior to Bendis taking over, the books were performing much better. If we do a straight up comparison, Superman #6 by Patrick Gleason and Peter J. Tomasi with art by Gleason and Mick Gray from 2016 shipped 76,124 units.

>Action Comics #961, which was the fifth Action Comics book during the DC Comics’ Rebirth launch shipped 71,821 units.

>In fact, Superman sales without Bendis would not reach Bendis levels until Superman #21, which shipped 51,373 units. Action Comics wouldn’t reach Bendis’ current sales level until Action Comics #968.

Lucifer is one of the best books DC is putting out right now. If you choose to instead read King, Snyder and Bendis that's your own fault

>THIS CAT TURD TASTES BETTER THAN ALL THESE DOG TURDS!
WooooooooooW what a glowing recommendation

that's too big, glad I got all the trades instead.

>"Didio only likes grimdark" thing

nah man even in this thread you can see how he loves writing long time grimdark characters the Metal Men

Didn't Tomasi and Jurgens have 26 issues out when Bendis had 13? Why cut them all off at 13?

>romita jr
why

No, I don't read those three. Your argument makes you look like a retard and only reinforces my point that the new Lucifer comic needs to be avoided since retards like you think so "highly" of it.

So is this Batman/Superman book only going to be dealing with the shitty Batman Who Keks infecting heroes or will there be some good original team up stories later?

Speaking of which...

Attached: Batman threatening criminals with being raped by blacks.jpg (1280x1967, 521K)

Why does DC trot out a "Year of the Villian" gimmick every few years?

Because it was an issue by issue comparison. Is this more to your liking?

Attached: sales2.png (1230x785, 80K)

kys

It's just the first arc, supposedly, although we don't know what stories it will go for afterwards.

thanks for the revision

This kinda inconsistency always frustrates me with DC releases. I will keep a hold of them, it is still a heck of a run.

I just have that collectors bad luck of always getting something finished then hearing about omnibuses or new editions.

Is that who's in the corner?

Honestly I'm starting to come around on Rogal Zaar because he's just so shitty a villain

yeah

I like both.

Next arc is Superman focused. That’s all we know.
Rebirth didn’t beat Marvel either so what’s your point?

>DANIEL WARREN JOHNSON
Shit I'll have to get it now.

Keep in mind that the actual number of issues tends to have a pretty big impact on sales even if the comic is or isn't weekly/monthly/bimonthly/Doomsday Clock, so it's not particularly accurate to extrapolate data like that.

Next shit is going to be worse and you will still be crying about it.

Hahah Birds of Prey #3 already bumped a month.

So which version of his destined Lover running around will Carter end up with? Kendra or Shayera?

I am glad Priest got make it to 50, most don’t make it that far. Good for him.

based golden age supes gonna be dabbing on this boards /pol/cucks

The solicit makes it sound like Gordon will finally stop doing things by the book and ventilate a few villains, but chances are he'll just get pissy at Batman for failing to do his job well. Maybe his son will show up and shift closer to anti-hero for a bit.

>Will Catwoman stick around?
>and it all leads to the new Batman and Catwoman series!
Well I guess you answered your own question

Are you the user that does the GotG sales charts? I like your work, keep it up.

He’s unfortunately got nothing DC after this, asked him at a con recently and he said he had a planned Nightwing book but Didio axed it. Now he’s only doing Vamperella

His Thor is also really great

Attached: thorphilosophy9.jpg (590x920, 240K)

I'll be honest, even though I like where the character eventually went, Black Masks original origin story is pretty lame. Not Moench's best work

Okay, retard

>Cry for Blood finally reprinted
>The only way to buy it is with the awful movie cover
Fuck you, DC

no one cares about bendis killing lois dad?

I care.

I gave up on Superman after Bendis aged up Jon. I’ve moved on.

It won’t last. Just Alfred’s death wont.

DC is probably going to reboot everything after Year of the Villain anyways.

Nobody can do that stupid greasepant mask any kind of justice, can they? It's not a good look, no. But it should be simple to draw. Dick looks like he rubbed shit in his eyes half the time.

Sounds to me that Sam Lane is Leviathan.

Reminder that the original plan was to have Alfred's death be a fakeout, but fan reception at conventions was so good that editorial decided to keep it

I wonder what it means "good reception" everywhere I saw had people up in arms calling King on his bullshit

Why isn't Hawkman's evil Dark Multiverse form that giant dragon thing from the actual Metal event?

I guess the sycophants that would go to a Tom King booth at a con

How is Alfred dead and alive in Doomsday Clock?
And shouldn’t Putin know Clark is Superman in DClock?

>And shouldn’t Putin know Clark is Superman in DClock?

it's been two years since doomsday clock and doomsday clock was one year in the future so it took place in the past of current comics

How is Superman having trouble with laffy Bats?

They just got Jokerized.

is Stephanie Brown in anything nowadays? Just finished up Batgirl by Miller and ended up really liking the character, not sure if that means I have shit taste or not.

He hasn't fought him directly, just jokerized people and set up traps for him.

She was introduced in Batman Eternal I think? (Or Batman and Robin Eternal. I can’t remember)
She appeared in Tynion’s Detective Comics for a bit. After that? I have no clue.

dumbass just couldn't keep his "I MUST DO WHAT'S BEST FOR ATLANTIS" autism in check, and lost his land-wife

This is the same man that got so angry at comic con that people were buying reprints of old good DC stories than the terrible new ones.

I was actually sad for him

Thank you, I'll check those out.

So this is just going to lead into another, even more DOOM filled event?

I'll probably read this. I'm a whore for villain stuff

Steph hasn't been written well since she's been reintroduced, just as a heads up. Don't expect the quality you got in the BQM run, especially not from Tynion

Not exactly, Hawkman specifically got infected to be like an alternate version of himself called "The Sky Lord" or something like that, they all just have white skin for the sake of consistency.
If they were Jokerized then they'd all be laughing.

Is it necessary to say they're meant for kids?

Damn DC

Jokes aside, I wonder what DC will do if they fire her and she decides to say they or one of their employees sexually abused or mistreated her? I mean, she has done this before to multiple people in the video game industry, what makes DC think she won’t do it to them? And then twitter and the media will be attacking them.
In fact, what made them think it was a smart idea to hire someone as dangerous as Zoe Quinn? Even if you believe her stories that she has been raped and sexually assaulted fifty times in her lifetime, don’t they find it suspicious or cautious to bring someone with that history into their building.

Agreed. I was okay with it but I am glad it is wrapping up.

>caring
>about some shitty Bendis story
I'm just numb at this point

Tomasi did great work, wish his run was longer.

I think backlash from Heroes in Crisis and Wally being a serial killer changed that.

Now Azz is on the new Birds of Prey book.

They have to have some sort of contract with her for a certain number of books to still be letting her write for them...

Bringing someone into the fold that has infamy seems to be a short term gain for them because exposure but when a person is this controversial?
