>Invader Zim, The Dark Crystal and Steven Universe still have threads everyday despite their new content showing up weeks ago
>Meanwhile Infinity Train stops getting threads less than a week after the S1 finale
Why is this? Did Yea Forums mostly decide that Infinity Train was a mediocre show? Does this usually happen to cartoon miniseries? Do Invader Zim, Dark Crystal and Steven Universe all have something Infinity Train doesn't? I'd like to know.
Your show is shit. Before you try to dodge it by pointing fingers in another, show, don't you worry, Amphibia is shit too. Star Vs. is even more shit. Anything that likes those shows but is older than 15 has no excuse for watching that actualy-putrid messy shit.
But your show died harder on Yea Forums for the only reason something dies on Yea Forums, and it's the fact that the art style and the girl are not fuckable.
Hunter Sanchez
fpbp
The only really good things to come out of it were one one and *maybe* the cat. It posed a lot of mysteries it didn't offer answers to, and the answers it DID provide were just pretty underwhelming.
Jonathan Howard
I thought it was perfectly fine for a little self contained miniseries. I'm very much not interested in a season 2 though.
Angel Thomas
I'll take 'Flavor of the month' for 500, Alex. Also that frog show that infinity-stans loved to hate still seems to be getting threads, sooo I guess those shows just left more of an impact?????
Jack Johnson
>created by the guy who went on a weird rant about cartoons being a miracle and that you shouldn't criticize them >turns out to be forgettable and mediocre imagine my shock
Cameron Myers
You're comparing a miniseries with shows that got multiple seasons and movies. IZ, SU and Amphibia (I'm including it because you fags love to compare it with IT) have much more content that can be discussed/shitposted than Infinity Train. I don't know about The Dark Crystal, so I won't talk about it.
Landon White
It was a really good show, but it ended in such a way that killed discussion. There's nothing else to talk about, no more meaningful mysteries, etc.
Brody Lewis
It killed any mystery S2 could have had. They explained the roach things, they explained the pillars of light, and they explained the conductor- and FIXED her.
Dylan King
Angry millennial
Levi Morris
There's still stuff like who built the train and how does it find people, and who controls the number and stuff, but like I said I don't really care to know at this point.
Ayden Hill
>the art style and the girl are not fuckable. on point
It was very underwhelming and the fact it's a mini series killed hype. It set up a lot and didn't deliver.
Noah Rodriguez
Never watched it, just kinda forgot about it.
Jace Adams
is this official?
Bentley Kelly
How was it underwhelming?
Jacob Parker
How is the art style bad and Tulip ain't fuckable? Explain.
Wyatt Butler
It's edgy fanart.
Parker Ross
If you want your show to be talked about, you need to leave things people can discuss and interpret.
>What the fuck was xxx's problem? >Was that a metaphor or literal? >If XYZ, does that mean A is G?
Isaac Harris
Fair enough, seems like something that would happen in a wonder woman comic though.
Gabriel Morgan
It's a mini-series and while I enjoyed it it doesn't hold up compared to, say, OTGW, which has a more appealing whimsical element to it and also has the added bonus of being a Halloween/Fall show. IT I think gets a little too bleak sometimes, and the train itself compared to the unknown feels more hostile. Tulip's whole thing with her parent's divorce is something younger kids today would probably find comfort in, but she's not a terribly interesting character outside of that. Atticus and the little robot dude aren't very impressive characters either.
Matthew Powell
Examples of these?
David Garcia
The art style isn't that bad.
Cameron Jones
>Owen says he's going to stay away from the internet because he won't be able to handle discussion and criticism of his show >Turns out there is none
6 episodes is enough to pull some fans, but it's not enough to leave a lasting legacy.
Jordan Bailey
Because there nothing else to discuss about IT, really. Every mistery has been solved. It's pretty straight forward, and there nothing to work with fanwork, not like amphibia that show is a memes fountain or Hilda, where creatures premise are fetish fuel.
The show was pretty fun to watch and discuss when It aired but honestly it can sustain a fanbase by itself.
Just using Zim since OP mentioned it, even though it's not a very good example.
>Characterization is dynamic but consistent enough and franchise has enough iterations that people debate aspects to this day (was Gaz retconned in the special/comics or did the other writers not understand Jhonen's intent on the show) >People still argue on whether Zim has continuity or not and how much is exaggeration for comedic effect/skewed by the point of view. >People think about and talk about how PAKs work, various little things from the show, Dib's family life, Irken hierarchy and society, etc. If Zim is a fuckup are the Irken competent or is it just relative.
There's stuff to argue about and discuss aside from what the story directly tells you. People can extrapolate on characters, question events, make their own interpretations, discuss the highs and lows with more variety and vibrancy, etc. Infinity Train is too straightforward to invite discussion. It's like how people like Bone but nobody talks about it, but people can argue Spider-Man for days. If you want buzz, your media needs to have elements people will read in different ways and care about enough to discuss these different interpretations.
Ian Foster
Yeah, but there's not enough there to discuss it, right? You can't make a decent guess at it, you just don't know. That's why there's no discussion.
Cameron Nguyen
The ending was disappointing all things considered.
Aaron Myers
>created by the guy who went on a weird rant about cartoons being a miracle and that you shouldn't criticize them Link to the rant?
Jonathan Wilson
>Hasn't every mystery in SU been solved already? Nope, there are still plenty misteries, for instance Who created the diamonds? Also the show is pretty meme itself, those "characters that Steven can/can't redeem" are kinda funny. Sadly there nothing to meme about in IT.
Alexander Cruz
The fact that the train is some kind of resort for people with life problems is kinda bland, actually. and most of the cars are boring, and the ones that aren't are showed for a fraction of second like that dinosaurs baseball game.
Isaiah Moore
Infinity Train is a new IP. The other cartoons are established franchises that have had years to build up fanbases. Unless a show is a cultural phenomenon right out the gate, you aren't going to see much discussion about it after its initial airing.
Ryan Cook
>Cartoon about a train for people with life problems
When are we gonna have a cartoon series about a real dystopian train for Real issues?
Then why does Amphibia get new threads despite being a new IP?
Hudson Brown
Shills paid by The Mouse.
Robert Roberts
It just wasn’t very good, that’s all.
Kayden Morgan
>No barefoot car
Benjamin Allen
Some new shorts came out recently.
Cooper King
What went wrong with the ending?
Connor Allen
Steven Universe had staying power with lots of characters that people enjoy and can talk about if they like how their stories ended up or didn't. Or where to go from here.
Hunter Martinez
The characters are enough without the mystery, Tulip’s story is done.
Logan Fisher
>As if Disney would bother visiting Yea Forums
Liam Foster
Perhaps the amount of people who watched IT wasn't that big. At least here.
Hudson Peterson
The show had a cool atmosphere and setting, but it lasted only a week and rapped up the story quite nicely. There is nothing else to talk about.
Joseph Brown
Link please
Thomas Gomez
I liked it a lot but it's a self contained mini-series that didn't really leave enough hanging threads for discussion. That's not a bad thing per se but there's not a lot of of discussion to be had because of it.
That's just "don't be a cunt because you didn't like thing" worded very poorly.
Samuel Adams
what were you expecting? pretty much everything that could be explained was explained in the show, no need for speculation or theories none of the characters are good enough for fan art threads there isnt a huge fanbase, so complaining about the show's flaws won't bring up big arguments
its just... a cartoon. what more do you want?
Blake Bennett
>who created the diamonds
Thats not an actual mystery. You might as well be asking, "who created humans". They arent going to answer that.
Isaiah Gonzalez
Both Amphibia and Infinity Train are shallow shows with high art production polish, so they both have a bit of polished turd syndrome. But Amphibia's characters do happen to be more likable. Tulip is just ok, and the robot and dog are both memes. Meanwhile even the background characters in Amphibia are great.
It was very explicit and now it's finished. There's nothing left to discuss.
It was OK, just not a conversation material.
Cooper Wood
Having such a short run and having all the episodes come out so quickly really hurts the discussion. I fear for Primal as well.
Juan Hill
Primal was never going to have discussion in the first place >"Man, Primal sure did beat up that dinosaur." >"Mhm."
Jose Bell
Rewatching it now via some dude's reaction. Crystal Car was a fun episode.
Jason Carter
It had an interesting idea which by the end of it just turned out to be a Gregory Horror Show ripoff Not to mention, some of the episodes were just filler
But the story is going to be more than that. Sorry if having no dialogue means you can't grasp that t. Filoni fag
Wyatt Brooks
>Rewatching it now via some dude's reaction We are being plunged into forms of barbarism yet untold.
Angel Bell
I just like background noise to go alongside media sometimes. Reactions do that pretty well.
Brody Phillips
I wouldn't trust the man behind Samurai Jack season 5 with a story as far as I could throw him.
Cooper Jenkins
>person wakes up in an unknown location without recollection of how they ended there >go through several perils and meet peculiar characters along the way >person feels like there's something bigger going on and must go on if they want to find the truth >the big reveal is that the place is just a metaphor for mental anguish or to supress a trauma and its up to the person if they want to stay or not
Jonathan Wright
It launched into stuff without preparing for it. The memory episode was very strange because there was no indication beforehand that Tulip idealized the past or failed to recognize the bad parts of her life, indeed the prologue emphasizes her awareness of her parent's divorce.
Connor Cook
The lack of dialogue is probably a plus in this regard. The best parts of Samurai jack season 5 have very little dialogue and rely on visuals.
Amphibia's story isn't done. We know how Tulip gets home, but not Anne. We know about the Conductor and her backstory, but not Grimes. We know One-One's true nature, but not the Calamity Box's.
>Infinity Train stops getting threads less than a week after the S1 finale thats how shitty the finale was, most episodes being a drag didnt helped either
Mason Smith
Thinly stretched premise, and no visual pizazz to make up for it. It was the exact opposite of OtGW, which made good use of its running time and had moody, atmospheric imagery.
James Miller
Yeah but those threads are being driven by degenerates like TLH threads used to be so it shouldn't count
Nathaniel Thomas
heres a summary of the episodes episode 1 >meet Tulip amd train episode2 >I dont care, but now I care repisode 3 >meets dog and evil robot lady episode 4 >whine episode 5 >whine episode 6 >drags out then "one-one is important yo" episode 7 >whine episode 8 >drags ou- oh, shit is happening
>Both Amphibia and Infinity Train are shallow shows with high art production polish Really though? I feel like production values for tv animation were higher a few years ago and they look kinda cheaply animated.
Grayson Moore
Reactions are good for when you can't convince your irl friends to join you on the journey of being a manchild either because they aren't interested or you're both too busy.
Julian Richardson
Zim always had a cancerous attention-whoring fanbase, and the movie woke it up. It has nothing to do with whether the movie was any good.
SU has a huge fanbase that it's built up over several years of its ongoing run.
And Dark Crystal is an interesting property that's different from the usual faire. Infinity Train is still tied to kinda old Adventure Time-inspired trends, and it hasn't been around long enough to build up a big base like SU.
Oliver Mitchell
And 9 and 10?
Oliver Long
What about Amphibia?
Easton Clark
>Did Yea Forums mostly decide that Infinity Train was a mediocre show
Well, I mean... it was.
Robert Taylor
sad, not sad, villain is a robot who is a guy who is actually is a girl whos evil whos not evil, dead dog never died epic prank, therapy train, time skip
Mason Gutierrez
I swear that time was one of the stupidest times of the board ever.
Anthony Davis
This sounds so much like someone from the production trying to understand why the show didn’t went as well as they expected... but considering where we are it is probably just a bit of autism
Jaxson Sullivan
It's Hilda 2.0 It attracted the absolute degenerates and they're unusable for anything other than shitposting.
Hudson Ward
Imagine actually getting your pet project made and aired and it just...comes and goes, like you never did any of it at all.
Connor Moore
Didn’t the show take like 2 years to make?
William Lopez
>if you criticize cartoons, just make sure you understand the context in which it was made (like how it's a miracle)
multibillion dollar conglomerate with it's fingers in multiple cookie jars? I'd say it's more than plausible.
Caleb White
Infinity Train was well above average, but it concluded its (short) story very neatly. There's nothing much more to discuss. We got a peak at some lore, but not much to expand on.
Steven Universe is a masterpiece and - like it or not - will be acknowledged as one of the defining modern Western animated series. It has years worth of lore to talk about, a huge cast, and all sorts of unanswered questions.
Zim... is weird as fuck and has been away for years.
Infinity Train was well above average (average for American animation is VERY bad), but there's not much more to talk about. Tulip had her realization, won her way free, and found happiness at home. The End.
Ryan Jackson
OtGW was short too and it's still talked about a lot.
Jose Robinson
OtGW was some kind of sorcerous fluke that sent this board into a fit of spiriitual hysteria. I liked it a lot myself, even if all the songs were so disappointingly brief that they might as well not have been made. There won't be another cartoon like that for another 5 years or so.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying IT is bad (I don't really have an opinion since I haven't finished it). I just mean that the excitement for it fizzled out pretty quick for something that was so anticipated.
Michael Morris
That's because nobody was expecting it to be a little baby miniseries that was over in, what, 3 days?
Xavier Gutierrez
So I guess it's fair to say Infinite Train was a bust.
Noah Clark
Infinity Train had its finale already?
Aiden Howard
Dark Crystal has a fairly unique gimmick in all of the puppetry, a cult base from the movie decades ago, some star power in the cast, and a fairly huge amount of content given each of the ten episodes is almost an hour long
Also Skeksis are just the best characters period
Adam Turner
>young girl's parents get divorced >115 >woman's husband dies >digits that won't fit on a graphing calculator covering her entire body What the fuck is she not telling us?
I want to cuddle with Annie and Sasha more than with Tulip
Josiah Watson
>that the art style and the girl are not fuckable. >He hasn't seen the porn
Juan Reyes
I wonder what it's like to get this worked up over a show you've made that apparently you really wanted to make, and then people just don't talk about it?
Cooper Morris
You see here at Yea Forums we don't accept mediocrity unless it has adequate waifus Tulip is now an adequate waifu and as such we do not give a shit about her mediocre show
