What was stupid about it?

Mystery Inc

Be cool and what’s new scooby doo are unironically my favorites after the original.

Mystery Incorporated is the best Scooby show hands down, best humor, best characters, best art design after the original 1970's one.

Original. Can still remember watching it at my grandma's house when it was on CN.

Whats new Scooby Doo as well. I mean it wasn't amazing but the theme song was catchy as fuck and it played during when Kids WB was at or near its peak so I got good memories of that time

reminds me, I got the whole original series on DVD, gonna have to watch some of it later today

Mystery Inc, but it's almost an entirely different beast in comparison to the rest.

Putting that one aside, I have very fond memories of 13 Ghosts, and the OG series.

Trailer when?!

>tfw no friends to have a scooby doo themed party irl
I have friends, just none that'd be into it.

Just have a get together where you show off the live action movies as a joke

How did they do it Yea Forums? Out of all the Hanna Barbera cartoons, Scooby Doo is the only one to stay relevant as a cartoon and not mutate into a marketing gimmick like the Flintstones. I'm honestly very curious on how it manage to survive and thrive into the modern day.

My favorite after the original and Mystery Inc has to be What's New Scooby Doo. It came out when I was 7 on Kids WB and I have alot of nostalgia for it and the rest of the cartoons on that block. It also has an awesome theme song by Simple Plan and actually made me like their 1st album to this day. In honor of the 50th anniversary I'm watching every episode of my favorite incarnation of Scooby Doo, hope everyone does the same for their favorites.

My guess is that Scooby-Doo is very malleable, you can do pretty much anything with him and won't feel out of place.

Got you covered user. Robot Chicken already did it years ago.

Watch me swooce right in

Seeing Daphne's face in the old cartoons always reminds me of the Scooby Doo gummies and then it makes me remember that they always got stuck in my teeth and that the smiley face gummies, Welcher's fruit snacks, and gushers were all vastly superior to the Scooby Doo gummies.

.".AND NOW IT'S TIME FOR AN ALL NEW EPISODE OF "GROOVY LOST MYSTERIES!" with Vincy Voo & The Dharma Crew!

TODAY'S EPISODE

"Hooded Ghouls of the South East Arrow Station"

Episode begins. We see a poorly animated shot of two Dharma workmen making their way home to the Barracks in a blue volkswagen. The same background keeps repeating over and over again as ominous music plays. Both are wearing the trademark beige jumpsuits. It's been a long day on the job out at one of the new research stations they've recently set up around the South East quadrant of the island.

Workman#1 (Let's call him Bob): Mans, it sure was a rough day down at the new arrow station. I cants wait to get home and play some of that new Collecovision!

Workman#2: I'll say! I don't know what old man Chang's got us drilling all them holes down in the farthest chamber for, but I'll tell ya one thing, I ain't movin' no more ammo crates or Chinese lanturns for nobody. My back feels like a god dang polar bear fell on it! HEY! WHAT's THAT?!

*Suddenly a creepy figure with glowing red eyes, and two great big bat wings leaps out in front of the road, waving it's arms around wildly screaming*

Monster: RAWRRGGGHHHH!!! GO BACCCK! GO BAAAAAAAACK!!!

Workman#2 What the hell is that?!

Monsters; ERUGGHHHHHH! REEEUUGGGHHHH!!!

Bob: I dunno, but it sure don't sounds like he wants to play no Collecovision!

*They haphazardly attempt to turn the car around and drive off, but they get stuck in the mud. The monster approaches and forces the driver door open, and the screen fades to black as we hear two workman screams...

*Intro plays*

VINCY VOO
HOW D'YA DOODLY DOO?!

>Frank Welker voices Fred for 50 years
>They recast him with fucking Zac Efron for the new movie
Replacing Matthew Lillard was bad enough, but this is just mean.

Gotta appeal to normies

no it was shit

How the fuck did Be cool,Scooby Doo last for 3 years and 52 episodes

Mystery Inc > Whats New > A Pup Named > Where Are You > Movies > 13 Ghost > New Mysteries > Get A Clue > Scooby & Scrappy > Puppy Hour. Never saw Be Cool and Have t Seen Guess Who yet

Normies don't give a shit about Scooby Doo. Also wouldnt they want to hear the voices of the characters they grew up with

You swore. Now enjoy their disapproving stares.

Just how many crossovers has Scooby-Doo been in?

>Be Cool Scooby Doo
>best versions of Fred and Daphne
>best humor in any Scooby Doo series
>the gang actually feels like a group of friends
>keeps disguise gags and chase music
>ends up being more enjoyable than Mystery Inc
>will forever be seen as a lower-tier series by most due to the art-style and being comedy focused
Why did it have to be this way?

Attached: Gang_(BCSD).png (1024x572, 790K)

Doesn't help that CN did a horrible job airing and promoting it.

I grew up as a kid watching Scooby-Doo, Where Are you? with my grandfather (early 00s). Its also pretty great and rewatchable.

What's New, Scooby-Doo? is also pretty alright.

Whats New Scooby Doo.

Shaggy for Smash!

BE COOL. YALL SLEPT.

Mystery Incorporated > Be Cool

True but together they're the peak of the franchise.

They pushed it to Boomerang real quick

I remember the episode before they pushed it to Boomerang. They aired it without warning a few hours before the scheduled time, and the thread was full of confusion because even the schedule on the site didn't say they did that. Obviously fucking with the air date like this tanked the ratings and gave them justification to throw it at Boomerang.

We should get a Scooby JRPG already

1.8.

0.1

Attached: 1566736872208.webm (480x270, 2.31M)

God, these backgrounds are god-tier.

CN is really bad at scheduling, either they just don't care or enjoy sabotaging their own shows.

youtube.com/watch?v=18ZIb5k90l4

That is truly insane, I couldn't get past three episodes because the fucking character design made be puke.

A lot. Hell, New Scooby Doo Movies had them team up with Don Knotts, the Three Stooges, and the Addams Family

Formulaic shows always popular. Like Doraemon, Phineas and Ferb, Law and Order, etc

It doesn't make any sense either. It fit all of their criteria. Episodic and comedic so they could sir out of order. Wonder if the online backlash caused them to axe it

If CN cared about online backlash, they wouldn't have a schedule composed mostly of TTG reruns.

Zombie Island was so fucking kino

Was it CBBC? I could've sworn it was Boomerang

It really did deserve better. Hell the animation itself was even pretty good, it was just the art style that let it down

youtu.be/QACFvcqVS1k

Happy 50th. The only franchise I'm autistic about. Bought the Where Are You? DVD collection a few weeks back, and the contrast to the VHS tapes I recorded 20 years ago is crazy

Ya'll ever notice how some of the shots are surprisingly creative/detailed in season 3? The Cat Creature and Disc Demon episodes in particular used shadows and smears in ways that were unusual for the series, and the Fortress of Fear episode felt like it doubled the number of unique animations compared to a normal episode

>Where Are You?
>A Pup Named
>The 90s era movies
>What's New
>The early-mid 00s era movies
>Be Cool

Why were these the only incarnations to feature actual songs in their chase sequences? It was too unique an idea to do sparingly.

Maybe licencing was too expensive?

dab on 'em, Velma

Attached: sploosh.png (1551x1516, 1.31M)

It's really a toss up between Be Cool and Mystery Incorperated. Mystery Incorperated had the best plotting the series ever had, but Be Cool is the hardest I've laughed at Scooby Doo in my entire life.

Plastic Man is always based.

God I am NOT nostalgic for this period in Scooby Doo's history. The stiff animation, the weird non-humor, everything just feels so stiff and awkward like they're just going through the motions.
Having said that, this sequence isn't terrible though it's more the setpieces rather than the animation itself. Also whoever was piloting that Loch Ness was really planning on killing them so I guess you could definitely put "attempted murder" on their police rap sheet.

Why isn't this thread pinned

I think my favorite line from this episode is Shaggy going "Or we could like...split it up."

>Scooby Dooby Doo!

What’s new Scooby Doo. That was the one I grew up with.

It has probably been years since I watched the original opening. Was the "that's a fact" after "have yourself a scooby snack" something they added in later intros or did I just imagine that.

What's the best chase scene in scooby doo? What even makes a good chase scene anyways

A good chase scene needs at least one segment where they run randomly through a corridor of doors and a segment where they pretend to be props/wear dumb disguises

Holy shit nightwing shaggy

I hope they never do an Alien Invaders sequel and ruin this cutie.

Attached: a10479165b7160b98305849b83502d2ae421cde7.jpg (460x852, 89K)

Mystery Inc had garbage writing, why do people rank it so high?

nostalgia overflow, boy was 2005 cartoon network a golden masterpiece

I'd argue the best chase scenes are the ones where the monster chases them into an even bigger threat (like a bear or something) and so then the gang and the monster are all running away together.

So what are the chances that Scoob will actually be good?

Do you mean good for a Scooby-Doo movie, or good for an animated film?

Kind of weird that there were no actual new episodes of Scooby-Doo between 1991 and 2002, which means that almost all of the episodes I saw as a kid were old re-runs, which CN aired constantly.

Kino!

Attached: 1568388204642.webm (480x360, 2.64M)

Wait, Shaggy had more than two VAs?

The First, I kinda liked pup named SD, and What's new.

If Scooby Doo is 50, how old would that be in dog years?

Attached: tink.gif (524x524, 373K)

350

How come Scooby-Doo doesn't have it's own comic universe? I know they have the comics that are published under DC but I mean something like an Archie style. Scooby is rife with characters to do it. The Hex Girls as Josie and the Pussyxats/Sabrina, Red Haring as a Reggie Mantle, the aliens got more Sci fi stuff and do on. Theres do much potential in Scooby-Doo

JINKIES

Mystery Inc is a damn hard bar to top.

This redesign definitely gets a 2.0 from me.

To reiterate, this is based on a scale of how much I want to watch Velma and Daphne getting shagged by Scooby, where the original designs () are a baseline 1.0.

Yeah he was real in the virtual world, the only fake part was when he was in the real world, that one was his programmer disguised as him.

Especially in that style I would

>Scooby Doo, Where Are You? is classic
>A Pup Named Scooby Doo is a lot of fun
>What's New, Scooby Doo? is pretty solid.
>What I've seen of Mystery Inc is really good

The best movies are:
>Reluctant Werewolf
>Zombie Island
>Witch's Ghost
>The first WWE film (second is decent but not AS great)

It had some good moments as well
youtu.be/k0YPqfbX030

Oh god user you're a genius, someone please stream the good movies

So then, what are the best movies, OTHER THAN the first four which are considered classic? Recently I watched Frankencreepy and thought it was bloody brilliant. I've also heard both Pirates Ahoy and Camp Scare are quite good.
Do you mean Scott Innes? I met Billy West a few years ago and he was a nice guy. Even did the Shaggy voice, that was pretty cool.

"SleeprSketch" on Twitter. I don't think they've done much other Scooby fanart.

I know people rag on Hanna Barbera a lot here, but I think Scooby Doo absolutely deserves its iconic status. It's a fun premise with well-designed characters, memorable voices and catchphrases, and near-endless interpretations of the franchise that are never really the wrong one (Regardless of quality). Not to mention the Mystery Machine is just an iconic as fuck vehicle. My only beef is that I wish they kept going the Mystery Incorporated route as the set "main" tone for the franchise but it's fine. I really hope there's more good stuff on the way.

Attached: 1566780959248.gif (500x640, 2.97M)

I might draw some Scooby Doo stuff later. I could stream it with some movies on in the background if that'd sate you.

I'm guessing by first 4 you mean Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders and Cyber Chase? Because there were movies before them.

That said, the best movies other than those 4 are
>Ghoul School
>Boo Brothers
>Loch Ness Monster
>Pirates Ahoy
>Where's my Mummy
>Abracadabra Doo
>Frankencreepy
>Camp Scare
All I can remember right now

user, Nazi robots in scooby doo is pretty stupid.

Ah yes I should have clarified that I meant "those" 4, I wasn't thinking.
I'm quite a fan of Ghoul School as well, thanks for the recs, I'll check out Loch Ness and Acbracadabra-Doo soon.

>don't tell fred I said that he thinks he owns that phrase.

Attached: 1418262010485.jpg (203x199, 12K)

Have fun. Loch-Ness was basically prime Whats New-era Scooby Doo and Abracadabra Doo was the start of the Mystery Inc-era so they each have a nicely different feel

Eh. The peak of Mystery Inc is better than Be Cool ever got but man are there a lot of lows, while Be Cool was just consistently solid.

I've got a soft spot for Pirates Ahoy
mostly because of that banger of a soundtrack and the tie in flash game

Attached: 1541361478746.jpg (1280x961, 168K)

Stream when? I couldn't imagine anything better than spending Friday 13th marathoning Scooby Doo

You just need to get past the relationship shit, especially the Velma/Shaggy stuff.

>I especially love how much Be Cool Scooby Doo exaggerates it.
The longer the monster gets carried away with their scenarios, the more satisfying it is.

God this show was a gem.

Oh shit I remember the flash games. I'm annoyed because I don't think I ever finished a single one and now they're all nowhere to be found so I can never go back and complete them

Think there's any chance of a sticky?

No. Even the CG Velma thread gained more traction than this.

That's depressing

You zoomers make me sick.

Mystery Inc

Attached: Dq35vKiVAAEJTPb.png (2100x2000, 560K)

shut up boomer

Glad I wasn't the only one. Those were some cozy times.

he's probably an actual fifty something year old boomer if he grew up with the original scooby-doo
either that or a guy whose parents had boomerang or a bunch of vhs tapes

Scrappy gets way too much hate. Scooby-Dum was worse imo.

Scrappy was in more episodes you shitlard

This movie was awesome God bless

I caught it one day out of the blue on a weekday I was home from work. I just left it on in the background while I was doing something else and I had to stop what I was doing and see what the hell was going on on screen cuz the jokes were so funny.

Comedy is subjective, user. But I still think you're wrong.

God I wish I could've appreciated how amazingly animated this movie was when I was a kid. I'm actually not crazy about the "the monsters are real" eras of scooby Doo but Zombie Island is a fucking masterpiece.

What the fuck why does Yea Forums hate Mystery Inc all of a sudden? You niggas ate that shit up hardcore back in '10.

Attached: Dq35w1lUUAAuUL6.png (2400x3600, 831K)

Contrarianism. If everyone says it's good then there's a pushback where you wanna say "it wasn't that good". That said more than half the thread is sucking its dick. Don't get mad cuz there's a handful of people who didn't like it. That's just gonna happen with any piece of media. Yea Forums's not a hivemind.

There's people with different opinions. Personally, I'm on the side that didn't think Mystery Inc was that great and people only hype it up because it had good art, bitchy Velma, and a crazy ending.

But it's like people forget that mostly all of the episodic mystery episodes were garbage, and none of the character interactions in the gang were enjoyable. It's crazy how much people are willing to excuse all the faults of the show if a very small part of it was great.

The only incarnations of Scooby-Doo that I like are Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, and Pup Named Scooby Doo. I also liked the theme song for What's New Scooby-Doo

I wish that Mystery Inc was still on Netflix.

LISTEN UP GANG!!!!!!

Just hope that if they show up in Guess who, they look about as hot as their original or MI versions. The ones in What's new were kind of meh. Not necessarily bad, just lacking for some reason. Of course, Velma and Daphne are confirmed THICK in GW, so it's fair to say if the Hex girls show up, they'll be too.

what other Scooby Doo things were there where they deal with actual supernatural shit and not just guys in suits?

There's a crossover episode between Supernatural (the show) and Scooby Doo.

What kind fo depression happened in the SD universe for the country to be filled with abandoned airfields, mansions and fairs?

The Great one

Pretty sure he used a hologram or whatever for that bit. As for the monster and his involvement, it's a rare case of being both real and fake. He was the mastermind behind he monster, so it wasn't a real monster in the same sense as the Ghost Witch or the zombies, but still not a complete fake as in the usual smoke and mirrors shit the classic villains pulled.

It's actually all located in or around whatever state Gotham City's in.

Attached: Gotham origins.png (650x603, 36K)

She looks like the kid from Ballmastrz.

Well there's stuff like the Reluctant Werewolf, The Boo Brothers and Ghoul School that had actual supernatural happenings that were just campy and silly. I think every single live action movie basically has real supernatural happenings involved. I'm pretty sure all that crazy shit from the Kiss Movie would at least be considered supernatural.

>cursed image

Well that explain the spooky european castles in the middle of American soil.

Scooby-Doo rpg when? They've got more than enough monster designs to make it work.

Attached: 1559891688291.jpg (542x800, 259K)

Why are the Where Are You? monster designs so memorable? It's like they're so simple that it makes them unique or something, I don't get it.

>Game behaves like a combination of Undertale and Clock Tower where you're trying to actively avoid running into monsters and if you get caught you gotta choose the correct option that'll fool them, trap them or trick them so you can get away safetly.
>Each character has their specialties. Fred can make traps, Velma can evaluate the environment and enemies to give hints towards the mystery or how to escape them, Shaggy and Scooby have the highest speed and can evade monsters easier than the others. Daphne is the most personable and can help you when talking to NPCs to find out information.

Attached: johnny_bravo_meets_scooby_doo.png (500x383, 193K)

I really should rewatch it one of thses days.

Someone uploaded a version of Zombie Island that aired when it was being run on Cartoon Network. The ads and ambiance just make it better.

Because the monster designs are campy, but aren't stupid. And the monster designs all fit with the episode they feature in.

Hmm ok, does it have any special name that makes that version easier to find?

>Scooby-Doo rpg when? They've got more than enough monster designs to make it work.
there's been a couple Tabletop RPG's over the years that either directly work for that kind of thing or would work easily with relatively minor changes

>Why are the Where Are You? monster designs so memorable? It's like they're so simple that it makes them unique or something, I don't get it.
that probably is indeed a big part of it,many of the monsters are very archetypal in nature, yet even the most basic ones often have enough tweaks to the basic formula to be memorable

Not that user, but I'd use something like "WOC" or "W/O/C" or "with original commercials" or some variation of all of that. That's the general term for VHSrips that are unedited.

All I can say is that it would've aired during Cartoon Theater. I found it originally on archive org, but I can't find it again. Could try what this user suggested.

So anons.

>Is this the greatest YouTube poop or what?
there's a couple really strong contenders out there like that one Static Shock one or pretty much any King of The Hill one, but it's definitely pretty high up on the list

Please tell me you're not a kissless wizard

As a Scooby Doo YTP? For sure, can't think of any other poops of SD that come even close to the comedic timing and polish. As for the very best, like said, it's definitely got competition out there.

>everyone hated the be cool art style so much that the next incarnation uses the original designs
it doesn't deserve it but fuck is that funny
speaking of the original, it was my personal favorite. Might have been "cheaper" but noticing everywhere they cut corners that I didn't notice as a kid just added some charm to re-watching some cartoons from my youth.

I wish I could say I noticed what you're talking about in season 3, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad someone here is this autistic about Scooby Doo, I really am. Seems like so much of Yea Forums is shitposting these days that it makes me genuinely happy to see someone talk this passionately about animation.

Because Yea Forums mods are nazis.

The first series and Mystery Inc.

>Muh dark

But the best part of that series is that it's funny.

The fucking doors. The one corridor with six doors and people just teleporting from one door to the next. It's always the same and always different and it always amuses me.

Is Scooby Doo President yet?

Also, wait, really? I thought Scooby was 50 like 20 years ago. I guess he must have just been 30.

With Scooby Doo and Guess Who we're slowly going back to another rotation.

Attached: file.png (754x2048, 1.65M)

I only found Fred being trap obsessed funny for a little over half the first season, after that it started getting old.

It isn't a running gag, but the little tricks they did to work around their limited animation budget are always fun to catch. What's even better is finding the errors that crop up. Like when Scooby's arm keeps turning green in one scene in the Mask episode.

Attached: Velma.png (741x1548, 358K)

This post hurts a bit cuz this is clearly a knee jerk response to the designs and I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume whoever typed it up never watched Be Cool.

It is so strange seeing Fred and Scooby having a conversation

The early 80's shows with Scrappy.

Be Cool had to have had a decent enough budget, the animation wasn't too bad.

srs what's the meaning of that mean i never got it

It's for the best, it's generally agreed to be the worst.

New Scooby Doo Movies has worse animation than Where are You (at multiple points you can just see parts of characters that were cut off and not drawn)

hell the story is worse too because they're absolutely full of filler.

It's kinda weird how ever since like 2002 everything from 76 to 84 just kinda ceased to exist on tv.

Granted 13 ghosts and pup basically vanished by 2006 as well. Mind you it does amuse me that most people assume that the franchise was dead until 2010 without a new show during the 06-09 range.

It is terrible,

Not to mention being able to make other similar HB characters more than just one-offs. Make the rip-off Gangs into recurring characters. Flesh them out.

I've been asking this for a while but anyone have any idea where I can download / watch Camp Scare and Frankencreepy? And I guess the one where they go into Space and pilot EVAs.

None of the standard torrent sites have it? I'm surprised.

I remember these, they were shown as ads on Cartoon Network. Anyone see the Scooby Doo/Blair Witch video?

Man, the Scooby Doo Project is so underrated. I wish I Warner would put out all these old CN specials on DVD or Blu Ray, for preservation's sake if nothing else. As things currently stand hardly anyone remembers this.

Cartoon Network really fucking loved to put Hanna-Barbera characters in their old shows for some reason, not just a a quick gag, but a full crossover.
>Dexter meets Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt
>Johnny Bravo meets Scooby-Doo and Fred Flintstone
>Cow and Chicken meets Red Guy as Space Ghost

I mean there are, but barely any seeders so I'll be downloading these things for weeks. And the compression rate Kiss Cartoon has is terrible.

So there's none on Mega/etc?

Kametsu was nuked and no longer aggregates links for stuff. and its replacement has none of the new movies sadly.

I lost my credentials to the MegaLinks subreddit replacement forum when that place also got nuked.

I've seen Megas of A Pup and Mystery Inc, but other than those nada sadly.

Felt the same about the headless horseman. Something about a character being "hurt" by the ghost on-screen. The Backstage Rage episode, too, where the gang thought the doorman really turned into a puppet. Spooked the hell out of me as a kid.

Is Be Cool actually good? I've been in the mood for good Scooby-Doo related stuff but the art style puts me off

Yes. The art style puts everyone off at first but it'd definitely worth looking past it

Be cool Scooby Doo has pretty good humor, which is its main selling point. Season 1 still has the chase sequence music video thing so if you like that check it out. A lot of it is just sorta tongue in cheek poking fun at Scooby Doo tropes. (ie. there's an episode where they talk about how it's kinda fucked up to make Shaggy and Scooby do stuff they don't wanna do for a tasty treat, make fun of how the monsters always go for Scooby and Shaggy and how everyone jumps on Velma when they get scared) So if you're not into the meta kind of humor it might not be your thing but it usually happens in an organic way. I'll also say they're probably the most...mean spirited scooby doo gang, but it never gets to the point where they're unlikable.

I just remember watching Zombie Island, The Witch's Ghost, and Cyber Chase over and over again as a kid.

...Do you even know what a pleb is? Yes, if you go along with the stupid "dark" Scooby Doo with "muh character development" you are a pleb exactly because so many other shitbrain zoomers who couldn't appreciate classic Scooby did likewise.

You know you can like both, right?
I loved Mystery Inc, but I also love Where Are You, 13 Ghosts, Pup Named and some of the movies.

>youtu.be/1hqMSHdax8c?t=135 is an example, if you're interested
Oh cool, I see what you mean. I wouldn't have thought that sequence was from the original run.

But Mystery Inc. is the best because trap obsessed Fred is hilarious and angsty Shaggy-obsessed Velma is *so* deep.

Even when she's drawn out like that?

I'm guessing she should proooobably be more like this?

Going to be real with you, user. I just wanted to bump the thread.

The movies I remember watching the most times are probably Boo Brothers and Reluctant Werewolf. Because we had those on VHS.

Boo Brothers was weird because the Boo Brothers themselves were awful but every other aspect of the film was pretty good
youtube.com/watch?v=r-Bn1Q_Xj_4

Was Scrappy Doo being the villain of the 2002 movie brilliant or retarded?

Brilliantly retarded

Was it only there to appeal to their manufactured "SCRAPPY IS EVERYTHING WRONG WITH SCOOBY" outrage?

I love a pup named, Mystery Inc. Be cool, The OG and all the campy movies.
I have basically never heardany one say that Mystery Inc. Velma was "deep".

1969-1974, 2010-2013

Unironically wtf is this shit, a fanmade scooby doo found footage horror film?

It was a bunch of bumpers from Cartoon Network parodying the Blair Witch project.

How is Guess Who? Is it any good?

Terrible.

Its not even out yet

>I'll also say they're probably the most...mean spirited scooby doo gang
That's Mystery Inc. There was some "mean-spirited" gags, but the Be Cool characters had a nice sense of closeness to them.

Not at all, apart from them taking inspiration from the classic designs. Maybe just watch the episodes with fictional characters rather than the celebrities.

Attached: BCSD hug.png (819x527, 336K)

Holy shit thanks for posting this. It felt weirdly real for Scooby Doo with the way the gang started turning on each other

Do you have mega links to A Pup?

We've had like half a season come out already

I remember watching this as a kid after the What's New series was done and realising for the first time that some shows are good and others are shit.

Crossover when?

Attached: into the shaggyverse.png (725x1040, 280K)

I'd legitamatel watch an into the scoobyverse. There's enough of different interpretations that it'd be fun.
Alternatively give me a Scooby Doo vs. Lupiin the 3rd Movie.

Would it be Scooby in a Lupin Universe with all the sex and violence or Lupin in a Scooby Universe that's more or less family friendly?

It would probably be family friendly. Lupin is used mostly as a red herring, some random Japanese guy is using 'Monstblor' to scare off a nearby anime studio to get the CEO's priceless jewels that were dug from a cursed mine or something, and at the end after they unmask the random japanese guy, Lupin takes the jewels(either in front of everyone or while they're distracted) and then Inspector Zenigata freaks out like he does, end of episode 'Scooby Dooby Doo', end.

A happy medium. think pink jacket Lupiin with a hint of Part IV Lupiin. Just really campy and silly, but still keeping Lupiin's womanizing traits. They might have a high speed chase or two, Lupiin or Jigen might fire guns non lethaly but they don't kill anyone. That sorta thing.

Cyber Chase had a Scoobyverse scene didn't it?

>Twist, Lupiin disguized himself as Scooby-Doo, the last person anyone'd except.

Kind of.

I know this movie is stupid but I kind of like it anyway.

Cry more, retard

Well, many thanks I suppose.

Kind of a let down. I like the look of it, but the writing isn't that great. The choice of guest stars is kind of baffling too. What kid is going to know or even care about Wanda Sykes, Jim Gaffigan, or Sia?

This is funny.
WHY IS THIS FUNNY HOLY SHIT???

Attached: 1454333.png (683x717, 761K)

Especially since they're both Frank Welker now.

Indeed it is. So legendary in fact that it’s been cancelled and given a new series numerous times.

Genuinely Thirteen Ghosts and the Red Shaggy movies, since they're what I grew up with. After those, it's the 90's movies, especially Alien Invaders.

Attached: Goth Velma.jpg (4310x6000, 1.03M)

It's shockingly awful.

That's disappointing to hear. Usually Scooby Doo series manage to be at least okay.

it's so weird too. BCSD has shit art but everything else is great. AGW has a classic style but everything else is shit

Guess Who feels like WB went "oh shit everyone is giving Be Cool shit, we need to course correct so it's like the old show" only they forgot that the old stuff outside of Where Are You? was mostly shit.

Its pretty meh. I liked the episode with funky phantom though. A shame too, since the designs are mostly great.

Just saw Zombie Island and Return to Zombie Island.

I plan on rewatching a bunch of scooby-doo movies and can't wait to get to those. I just watch Monster of Mexico, was not as good as I had remembered it being when I was a kid. But I know the movies you listed were based as fuck.

>manufactured "SCRAPPY IS EVERYTHING WRONG WITH SCOOBY" outrag
>manufactured
I know we're Yea Forumsntrarians but there are limits. Reality is what reality is, and the hate for Scrappy is older than you.

>Just saw Zombie Island
That's great bro.
>and Return to Zombie Island.
Ye poor bastard, why do you do this to yourself Actually how is it? Heard it takes away the supernatural from the first movie.

I ought to give this show a watch. It may look awful but the comedy is pretty great

I misworded it. I'm not saying nobody hated Scrappy, but the way writers have treated him, it's like they use him as a scapegoat for all the show's flaws, ignoring the changing perceptions as the old audience who originally hated him dies out.. He was certainly better than that spic Flim-Flam.

it does, but I think it'd be more interesting to have Daphne be the Goth and have Velma in a different role if we're talking about changing up their roles, personally I like the idea of Velma being a /fit/ nerd, particularly since there's that recurring gag of Velma carrying one or more of the others with minimal effort

wouldn't be as huge as this pic, it's just there isn't really much in the way of stuff involving Velma being /fit/ that doesn't dive right into blatant fetish territory, plus the gag in this comic is the sort of thing they'd probably do with that kind of Velma anyways

Attached: 1414983690.atariboy_velma_final.jpg (1920x5555, 1.08M)

So how do they justify the Addams Family appearances? No Scrappy so not covered by mass hallucinations, and only the levitation tricks were faked.

No, all the "explanations" are Velma trying to make sense of it all

>So how do they justify the Addams Family appearances? No Scrappy so not covered by mass hallucinations, and only the levitation tricks were faked.
the funny thing is that treating it as though everything Supernatural in Scooby-Doo has to be fake is a relatively modern retcon, the original series had all sorts of minor actual supernatural shit happening

What is with this show and turning into a seat?

I wouldn't call it horrible but there was some retconning going on. Some fun moments but overall? It's ok, no top tier.

I fapped to that comic.

>Spoiler
Aye, agreed. And Scooby Dum was also shittier, but they had a lot less screen time. Flim-Flam only had a short series, one that wasn't very good anyway, and Dum only had a few episodes. Scrappy was in multiple seasons and films, an enture decade to annoy people. That's the reason he gets the hate.
Notice how nobody comments about Scrappy-Doo being in Ghoul School? It's because he was the worst part of the movie.

>relatively modern retcon
I like one fanon I've read, I think in a thread here, that the Scooby-Doo universe actually NEEDS to have a supernatural element in the background, frequent and public enough to explain why so many goddamn people decide that pretending to be ghosts is a possible idea, and it fucking works every time. It also explains why the gang always runs from the monsters, even if they have a good reason to believe they're not actually ghosts.

anyone got megas for Be Cool?

Can't believe we haven't gotten some kind of edgy Scooby Doo adaptation yet. I don't mean Mystery Inc but something darker, at least as dark as what 2003 was to Ninja Turtles.

Thats literally what happens in Mystery Inc. An extra dimensional being basically makes people go crazy bananas and dress up as monsters.

we did. Scooby Apocalypse Comic (Didio really dropped the ball by not calling it Scooby Doom /Doomed).

Nanites were released to the world turning everyone into actual monsters sans the Gang.
Scrappy and the other dogs are mutated Bara Furries.
Fred dies around the last quarter and turns into a zombie that stalks the gang.

nvm I'm kinda drunk and misread what you types.

Vincent Price/Van Ghoul is always a treat to see. Best guest actor and recurring character.

I especially loved the Mystery Incorporated episode, and I wish I could’ve seen more creepy mashups/references.

Dr. Phibes/Phobos is my favorite. Those movies are fucking fun.

Well, we know that, canonically, some animals are just smart enough to talk. Each version has their own canon on that, but it remains true in all of them.
If it is addressed, it should be one of two things: Magic or science. If it's science, we could handwave them all as part of a genetic experiment (Or a mechanical one for Speed Buggy) from the '60s.
The biggest issue would really be the ghost guy. I mean, if we're going to Where Are You/What's New route of the monsters all being fake, we can't have a ghost exist at all.

scooby doo game where you have to pay attention to background details to identify traps pls

>It also explains why the gang always runs from the monsters, even if they have a good reason to believe they're not actually ghosts.
which is probably why from What's New onward more and more often the "monster" ends up being a robot or a power armor or at the very least has a weapon of some sort, makes it so even if it's not a real monster it's still dangerous as fuck

That it does

The movie route is the best route. Magic is real but few and far in between in regular life but dangerous when encountered. I wanted to keep that more in the Hex Girls book. Funky could be marvel because he's a ghost. As for the animals that can be hand waved like in the show.

It'd be good if all of the Gang except Velma always considers magic a legitimate possibility, but Velma truly doesn't believe any of it until half-way through the series. She'll accept Scooby, Speed Buggy, etc. as the results of old experiments in the '60s and other monsters as machines or something similar, but actual magic? Now way. If it was real, it would have been studied by now.

Handwave the animals, Funky is magic, Buggy is a science, Captain Caveman is dismissed by most people as just a short hairy weirdo.
The hardest part to handwave, for me, is that most of the shows took place in "present day, more or less" but Jabberjaw is specifically in the future in underwater colonies. So you either have a time travelling band with a walking air breathing human shark hybrid, or you have the present EXCEPT there is underwater high tech colonies.

Not sure if it counts, but I'm a sucker for hearing "...if it weren't for you meddling kids" in other shows.

Perhaps the underwater colonies are some sort of secret, and the Jabberjaw crew has to keep it that way when they come up top.
But what would be the best way to do that? Time travelers set up the base? The government?

When Velma discovers magic is real she's gets really into studying it

That isn't really hard to handwave. Science from the 60s can make animals talk but not set up Rapture? Or keep it present day with the band getting wrapped up in secret government shenanigans when they meet Jabberjaw

The stuff which created the talking animals was a government project which has yet to be declassified. Velma doesn't believe the conspiracies that they used Nazi science based upon actual magic to create the talking animals.
It's all true.
Underwater naval-base/secret colony would be cool for Jabberjaw.
Even though Jabberjaw himself should still get strange looks from people who are otherwise fine with talking animals, since talking fish are unheard of.

Not if they put him in disguise.

GIGGITY

>tfw we will never see a Scooby/TMNT crossover
I wish Warner owned TMNT so fucking much.

If Batman can crossover with TMNT, why can't Scooby-Doo, who has crossed over with Batman on multiple occasions?

I don't get why Plas revealed himself.

Wish there were high-res 1080 wallpaper versions of these.

Looks like one of those old weird CN ads.

The only time the Scooby gang has ever looked like a group of high schoolers.

i saw this shit in like 1st grade, god damn

cool and all but why does daph look like a white mage

If we were ever to get a Scooby Doo anime, where they took some artistic liberties, what would you want the atmosphere/tone to be? What would the visuals look like?

Attached: Scooby-doo-.jpg (1040x780, 161K)

It's was a Latin America excusive bumper used to promote the CN TV debute or Coraline.

Was the Scrappy hate one of the earliest examples of a Studio or Company cashing in on a meme from its own fans?

>Notice how nobody comments about Scrappy-Doo being in Ghoul School? It's because he was the worst part of the movie.
Not really.
At that point he'd just sort of taken over Fred, Daphnee and Velma's role.

Where Are You?'s animation is infamously stilted but hot damn did those background paintings build atmosphere.

Honestly some of my favourite bits of Scooby Doo media has to be the creative ads and bumpers.

>Fred and Daphne can't work up any chemistry together
So this is one of those versions where Fred and Daphne are gay and lesbian respectively.

I hate school uniforms, they make for bland and boring character designs. Why won't characters immediately change into some real clothing as soon as they're out of school? It's what every kid in Britain does.

Got a video link for this?

I want whoever wrote this to be given a go as a showrunner for the next series.

Huh so they apparently lived. Probably.

Yea Forums kind of overreacted in terms of the whole "Return to Zombie Island retconned everything!" thing. It changed a lot but it never outright proved that the original supernatural stuff didn't happen, it was just Velma trying to rationalize things when the movie made it pretty clear she was probably wrong.

That definitely looks better. Less 1000 yard stare.

Oh those were creative as hell, while I didn't care for the first 3 games, the last one that was against Bugs & Daffy was the best because of how unexpected the ending was

I like the Cartoon Network League so much, that I had an idea to bring back just with original animation and tons of Cartoon Network stars from both new and old dukeing it out in the arena in a tournament of Cartoon Violence

Daphne a CUTE

So, what other "modernizations" of HB characters would you guys like to see in a Scooby series with them all making a couple appearances each?
I'm thinking, for the Funky Phantom, that he left home and his wife and infant, to fight in a war he didn't really support, that is, the War of Independence. Then he got split from his group, got spotted by a few Loyalist scouts, and chased into the mansion and into the clock with the mansion-owner's cat, dropping some identifying article. Over the next 200 years, while he couldn't get out of the clock, his noises, and the fact that it's known that a soldier did disappear in the area, did create ghost stories about the mansion.
Later, the two twins, descendants of his and huge fans of the Scooby gang, decide to investigate their ancestor's disappearance and the ghost stories, hoping to find some bones. They end up finding him and convince him to help them become great mystery solvers, like their idols, and to impress the girl they both like, which he happily does, as a way to act like a father when he couldn't be there for his actual child.
Also, their dad is dead and they lose the dune buggy, and trade it in for some bikes, since they get aged down a bit. And they exclusively look for real ghosts, which they only find due to their ghost, and not due to any actual deductive skills.

Huh, seeing those costumes makes me had an idea for an activity for kids on Cruise Ship where there's a guy in a monster costume haunting throughout the cruise, and the kid guests get to work with Mystery Inc and get to solve the mystery, it's basically like one of those Mystery Dinner-Theaters but it lasts for days and it's on a Cruise Ship

Mystery is the ultimate genre, you can do anything with it, and even if it may not be the best, a mystery itself will always prevail. Scooby-Doo can do anything, and it will always be decent-good.

No user, the robots made by the German scientist in the late 30's that look exactly like the SS aren't Nazis in any way, how could I have been so stupid.

No

At least we made it to the bump limit.
